    It is simple use of a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)
    For example 15 × 17 = (16 -1)(16 +1)= 16^2 -1 = 256 - 1 = 255

    When tenth place is same and unit digits add up to 10
    32*38=1216
    3*4=12
    2*8=16
    Calculation can be done directly

    Sir I have not understood the last one 11*17 ? The difference is 6 so 6 must be substracted not 9 , please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @sreehari972
      @sreehari972 Рік тому

      In that case difference is 6, so half of 6 =3 so 3^2=9

    Can we take pattern square of mid no.- n square

  • @krishnachaitanya1769
    @krishnachaitanya1769 6 років тому +1

    Sir, why did you use 9 instead of 6 for difference 6, may I get explanation for that

    • @praneethkoushik5504
      @praneethkoushik5504 5 років тому +1

      when the number is diffreing by 2 we took 1 square i.e (2/2=1) and when we the diffrence is 4 we took 2 square i.e (4/2=2) and finally when the difference is 6 we have to take (6/2=3) and hence 3square =9 .This is the logic behind that.
      I hope you could understand this now ..

    You are supposed to make it easy, not complicated. Any 2, 3 or 4 digit number can be multiplied by 11 in the most simplest of forms. Here's how it can be done. 11x11 (1+1) = 2 place inbetween 1 1 for Ans: 121 14x11 (1+4)= 5 place inbetween 1 4 for Ans: 154 17x11 (1+7)= 8 Ans: 187 17x15 (1x1)=1 (7x5)=35 (7+5)=12 135 26x24 (2x2)=4 (6x4)=24 424
    12 (6+4)=10 (10x2)=20 20
    ---------- ----------
    255 624 That's what I call "simple"

      Simple is something which we have practiced and inherited.

    • @peterbrown2882

      @@sureshaggarwal if it is something you have practiced and inherited, then why complicate it with your inbetween methods of multiplication. You shoulf know better than that. You are a good teacher no doubt. Keep up the good work. I was only pointing out what it should have been and was not. Cheers

      @@sureshaggarwal Not at all, and I'll tell you why. I wrote a book on how to become a math's WIZ some 10 years ago, and have given lectures on it over the years. I was an "honors" student in maths at an early age. Looks like you have misunderstood me.
      I am not the one that finds maths complicated in anyway, shape or form.
      I was referring to anyone interested in learning it, either by you or anyone else. Remember it's the begginers that our interest should be foremost on.
      I'm sure that you are very well aware of that.
      No offence to your capabilites intended.

      If you want to use this method with numbers that have an odd difference you will wind up squaring with numbers that end in .5. Use the squaring any numbers that end in 5 trick to square them. The product will always end in .25 so you can just not add that since it gets canceled out.
      Since the squaring numbers that end in 5 trick is not just a number squared so understand n(n+1)=n^2+n to keep the first part of that trick easier to combine with the one in this vidoe when using larger squares you already know the product of.
      Again, I am using the square any number ending in 5 method, and dropping the .5^2 part of the result.
      11x16, difference of 5, 5/2= 2.5
      11+2.5=13.5 13^2+13=169+13=182
      2.5 2^2+2=4+2=6
      182-6=176=11×16
