I followed this on my F31 2013 BMW 320D. I managed with simply turning the wheel all the way in. But I could not have done it without this very clear tutorial. Thankyou.
I was able to do this without slaking or taking the wheel out. Just turn the wheel off to one side and then has enough clearance for it

I can't figure out how to bend the 3 tabs. It goes just pushing it? I'm afraid to brake anything.

i have a 2012 328i and it does not have the access door
I have a 2013 328i convertible and I don't see these access panels to get to the low beam??

I'm new to this and the dealer costs way too much to do this. Is it necessary to loosen the lug nuts first or can you just turn the wheel instead? Also, should you be wearing gloves while doing so?
+Sachin Nair you can certainly try and turn the wheels and see if it will give you enough clearance.
+foolio2k4 it didn't work. It was too hard to reach in there. So I ended up taking it to the dealer. Luckily, they didn't charge a penny to change it.
