It was a revolutionary racing game, the first 3D racing game I played. There was also a version that comes with a full surround cabin that allows one to sit inside and feels like a real formula racing car. I practiced this game for many many hours and participated a competition, beating more than 2000 participants and ended with 6th. It was during a electronics show that attracted more than thousands of people. It was so fun to get into the final.
They used to have "force feedback" and they would turn on their own while you play. For example, in a left hand turn, they would attempt to turn right, so you'd be fighting the wheel while you turned.
I played a version of this that you sat "inside" the cockpit and there where air bags on your sides that blew up when you went around a corner to make you feel like you where under g-force when going around a corner. This was at the Jersey Shore early 90s at a arcade I think at the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Daytona USA must have just been released because I never seen it before and I went to arcades all the time and they had A LOT of them linked together it was an epic first time gaming experience! I miss the arcades of the old days!
That cabinet is awesome. I remember playing the 8 person motion cabinet of this. Only saw it at one arcade though. It was probably turned into Indy 500 after that.
Totally agree, this video was filmed and looked totally fine. But UA-cam pushed their video stabilization on it. I had Several videos where it auto applied on, and messed them up like this. I tried to reverse the changes but it didn’t help them. Super bummed about it too. Thanks for watching tho! I appreciate it
that arcade machine is a beast. I have to say though, my go to flat shaded polygonal racing game has to be stunt race FX for the super Nintendo. I put dozens of hours into that game when I was younger.
I wish Sega would just take this game along with Sega Rally 1+2, Sega Super GT (Scud Race) with the PLUS version, Rad Mobile, Rad Rally, Power Drift, Hot Rod, Outrunners, OutRun, Turbo Outrun, Daytona USA 2, etc... make a Sega Racing Heritage Collection gamepack.
Tilt the seat back and gain access to the PCB. Taking off the metal top, you’ll see the sound board. It’s on the top. You’ll notice there are RCA outputs there, test them as from what I remember they all don’t produce audio correctly. This is a multi channel output, maybe 5 channel surround? Not sure what SEGA was developing here but audio does come out of these jacks and can be sent to an external speaker source :) have fun!!
HeineHouseEntertainment thx for the info. Unfortunately I’m only getting one sound thru an external powered speaker using those rca preamps. It’s only the grid light. My dumb luck. I couldn’t figure out the dip switches either. I love the game but info is hard to come by.
Hi, I’ve buy the same cabinet some months ago. It’s work great but I already know in future it can have some problems, can you give me a list to spare parts to buy, please?
Can you show the FFB system please? Ever since i was a kid i always wondered how it works ^^ Today i own a full motion rig that i've build myself but it all started in the arcade with Virtua racing 😏🙌
Unfortunately I have some this arcade game and don’t own it anymore, I remember having the wheels out of the machine and believe me they are massive, extremely heavy and very robust!
@@TheHeineHouse yeah i've found a pictute of it on google. Huge industrial dc motor and its part belt part geared. No pics of the motor driverboard but probably just as overbuild🙌
Hi, today one of my VR machines give me a CANCEL error with white horizontal lines. This is never happening to you? I’m sorry to asked it but can’t find any documents about it. Thanks a lot.
Immediately after power on, before it’s boot. I can see for a fraction of second the green background an immediately coming back the error (it’s became a loop). The other machine give a network error and the steering wheel calibrating normally. I suspect is the 3D board the problem. Thanks again.
Altough I don't mind you installing speakers into this to enhance the sound, the fact they're in your face kinda ruins the look for me, specially on this great game.

Nice video and great arcade setup. You should do more arcade cabinet videos.
Thats a lovely twin cab and a classic racing game from sega !! love it.
I used to own a stand up version one of these still a awesome game today enjoy

Ahh, the Deluxe version!

Shame the film quality is so bad, it is a beautiful thing !

That is a downright beautiful cabinet.
I have played VR in the arcade on the exact same unite. Good times!

Why do the wheels turn on their own?
Was their any money in the coin door? 😊
There actually was! Some quarters and a bunch of tokens from an Arcade on the east coast USA. :)

Hi there! When does it say this? Can you get the machine to boot up at all? Or does it display this during boot?

thoughts on new killer instinct?
That must be a bitch to move. Considering a normal arcade cabinet is troublesome
