    Nice picking,Bill!
    Even if you won't take credit for the open, I'll vouch for the configuration of the lock. That was how Joshua and I sent it out to you.
    Joshua and I will make sure there is some alien technology in your next batch of locks. He's excited about doing another round.
    The steel pins were in there when I got the lock, and we upgraded the bypass protection, but that's all.
    I'll still give you credit for an open, and I'm sure more members of the Tribe would, as well. Your reputation is sterling.

      +MortenErCrazy Thanks for the kind words.
      These weren't great challenge locks for Bill, but Joshua and I are going to make up a new batch with some evilness in them, hopefully sometime soon.
      All the credit goes to Bill, a great guy and skilled picker. He's got a great channel, and makes good security understandable for everyone.
      We owe Bill a debt of gratitude for helping us improve our security.
      Locksmithing is a good field to be in, hope he does well with it.

    Its mere presence opens all Master locks in a 200 metre radius.

    My 790 didn't have steel pins... I'm jealous (and pissed at the eBay seller)! Also, you mentioned Desmo locks... If you are interested, check out my video 141 for a "how to" primer on picking them. Tricky, but not as hard as you would think.

      it's weird to have such a huge ass lock and to continue with just a single sided key we have a safe at work that has a four-sided key wouldn't that be safer?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer 8 років тому

      Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps if they are high quality, but the overwhelming majority of the cross locks out there (4 sided keys) are real garbage (Chinese made). I have videos of picking them on my channel, as does Bill.

    After all the locks you have opened, no one should doubt that you opened it and didn't switch in a bunch of steel pins post opening it. Great video!

    Nice video. Did you get it back together? What is the third ball bearing good for?

    • @PapaGleb
      @PapaGleb 8 років тому +7

      Potti, the extra ball is because of its size. One ball isn't big enough to reach the shackle so they use 2.

    I've got 1100 series but this is the first time I've seen a 790 series..you're not kidding; that's one massive lock. Again nice picking Bill! p.s. don't worry about the slight bend in your pick, it doesn't seem to get in the way of you opening locks ;-)

      You really can’t make huge keys with at the same time tight key ways, if it’s too long it will bend or break.

    Why do you sometimes choose the Gem and other times the standard hook?

    • @TuProk
      @TuProk 8 років тому

      +Cristi Neagu I believe I've heard him explain before that the profile of the tip of the standard hook makes it easier to get around some bends in particularly paracentric key ways. And as for the gem he simply prefers that, so when that isn't going to work he goes to standard hook. Could also be a matter of reach.
      I could be wrong but this might give you a little insight if he doesn't see this and give the real answer.
