      This just popped in my feed.
      The title threw me off I said lemme see what's goin on here...
      I never paid attention to the machining much before or really gave it a thought.
      but wow this stuff is small 😬
      I like to tinker and wouldn't mind knowing how to pick my lock when I've left my house keys at work😂.....
      For something else educational, may I reciprocate and suggest wastewater treatment(gee thanks I just ate😕)...it's actually an interesting process

    I picked my first padlock today ! it is a 2 dollar flea market lock. looks like a master number1 but has high security printed on the rubber piece. My dangerfield praxis kit arrived just minutes before picking it ! First kit and first lock, TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY.

    Thanks again, Bill! Starting my Lock Smithing course in just a few weeks now, I'll pass with ease in part to you!
    A couple of ideas for you. Have you thought about connecting a monitor up to your camera so you aren't straining with the little LCD display? I think also the camera, if it's like mine, has trouble focusing if there's more than 40% background to foreground ratio. What I learned to do to get it to refocus was bring the objects way in, like too close, and then out again. This deals with the foreground/background issue promptly.
    Thanks again for keeping your videos regular, learned so much from them in such a short time. I cant wait to send you a challenge lock!

      This will be Mechanical Engineering Certificate II here at TAFE NSW in Sydney. I already have 95% of Certificate III as I'm a Toolmaker, so 80% of it should cancel out and I just have to do the locksmith specific modules. Passing this one with full distinctions if my expectations are accurate.

    Bill, why don't you use shims for disassembly more often? With challenge locks you often have T pins which can get stuck in the groove for the circlip and then there are the plugs that look like skeletons.

    Regarding that anti-bypass wafer, Peterson makes a 3-piece wafer breaker kit. I've used it, and it works well.

    • @sl1mp1k1nz9
      @sl1mp1k1nz9 7 років тому

      DT Goertzen but they are too big to fit inside this particular key way

    • @dtgoertzen7032
      @dtgoertzen7032 7 років тому

      I thought it looked an awful lot like a standard American key and cylinder, compared to the dozens I've seen and worked on. But obviously, I can't be certain without seeing it.

    • @sl1mp1k1nz9
      @sl1mp1k1nz9 7 років тому

      DT Goertzen the wafer breaker set right? isn't it designed for the 700 series? I have them, you're saying it fits inside the 1100 series too? I'm going to try it thanks! lol I never even tried, as I enjoy the picking more than a bypass ( unless it's for work) but we usually use the gun for American locks

    • @sl1mp1k1nz9
      @sl1mp1k1nz9 7 років тому

      DT Goertzen holy crap you're right! thanks man.

    • @dtgoertzen7032
      @dtgoertzen7032 7 років тому

      No problem. If you look up the American Lock Service Manual, close to the end is a page showing the different keyways that its padlock cylinders come in, and the Peterson bypass tools might not work in some of those keyways. Any American padlock compatible with their padlock cylinders can be set up with any of those single-sided keyways, if I'm not mistaken.

    Hey bosnianbill, im about to invest in a lockpick set and wanted to go with the sparrows eod (and i havent picked basically ever before) but i also wanted to be able to single pick if i needed to, i live in australia and can you reccommend me a good yet not $400 set for me?

    • @sl1mp1k1nz9
      @sl1mp1k1nz9 7 років тому

      Zerobrine /anon the southord 14 or the tuxedo are great, southord is probably better for new pickers you just cannot break em but once you get better get some sparrows single picks and a case from them

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  7 років тому +2

      The sparrows EOD kit is nice, and so is the new Dark shift. Either will serve you well and, even better, are available in Australia from the authorized sparrows dealer, Pickpals. Postage in Australia and NZ are apparently free!

    Nice job Steel Pinnings!
    *Guy's If you have not checked out Steel Pinnings channel, you really should! There are a bunch of Great guy's making and trading challenge locks around there.
    I have Not been able to do any trades with them yet as I have not made any yet, But if You do you might consider looking over there and the others who swap and trade there. Bunch of Great guys!

    Hello Bill, French fan is here. I just received my sparrow lock pick set, and I bought a Master Lock N•150 because you always says Master locks are very easy to pick. But I can't SPP or rake it or open it with the "3 worms pick". Can you give advice please ? Thank you

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  7 років тому +2

      The master 150 contains 4 spools and one standard pin. NOT a good lock to start with, even difficult to SPP sometimes. Get yourself a Master #3. Follow the lock picking "university" on the website and you'll learn a little faster than jumping straight to complex locks.

    • @j.2632
      @j.2632 7 років тому +1

      Clement Darchez If there are so few master padlocks in France as here... go in the next hardware or euroshop and get some of the cheap china locks however they should not cost over 5 euros, and not under 40mm, also it would be good if they are from brass and not only painted golden, the cheap Burgwächter are also quite okay to practice.Maybe you should also pay attention to the bitting of the key, so you have one with medium and a few with a different high low bitting! Greetings from Germany

    Hi Bill! I have some practice with lockpicking (little), I woud like to know if I can make a bump pick, like a car picker, it would work?? I've searched and saw one in GOSO pickset but you said this kit is junk, (Video 766), thanks greetings from BR (subscribing if answered) .. kidding subscribing now! SS! SL!

      makomifune
      What do you mean by bump pick??
      If sounds like some of the different types of rakes and wrigglers out there.
      But if you are looking to make a pick I say go for it.
      That is how most are developed.

    • @loopzle744
      @loopzle744 7 років тому

      makomifune Look at his "How to kinetic attack" video. This uses the same principle as bump keys, except picks are used instead of a key.

      I see what you mean, and you would only need the bottom rake if there were pins on bottom. The only locks with pins on both top and bottom besides wafer locks are zise or cross cruciform locks. But it would still work in a wafer lock.

    • @OlagGan
      @OlagGan 7 років тому +2

      Actually it's probably because UA-cam (or whatever chooses the thumbnails) decided to show the Dog. It's probably because the Dog is at the end of the video and it might have been the default setting for this. BTW The dog looks alright to me. It appears to have got wet and is shaking itself.

    • @nodvick
      @nodvick 7 років тому

      if it looks all-right to you, I really hope you don't own a dog. It is far too skinny and it's legs show signs of poorly-healed injuries.

      Dog, near water... Dogs like to swim, swimming is usually accompanied by muddy shores. Happy doggy is swimmy and muddy and is gonna be able to walk home cause he's not some chubby wubbie doggy fed so much that can't even cock its leg.
