Great vid. But why not just remove chain, blank tensioner, trim lower plastic guide, But leave the shaft in place? They won't rotate, or vibrate, and would block the oilway?
What does it do the engine as far as when you come to a stop at idle? Does it vibrate more or less ?? Also what other functions do thouse idlers do besides balance? Also do you have a running example of one engine you have completed this procedure on that is currently running so we can all see the end results??? Maybe if you got time ??? Please and thank you alot your video rocks, I have the same bloody memory loss so I'm right with you . Thank God for this video .
Hi mate, what sump do you end up using? Can you get around the subframe with earlier rear sump? I'm currently doing this swap on my e46 coupe! Thanks in advance 👍
I'm going to do this on my b234 forged turbo engine. Is it reasonable to drill the outside of the block to reach for the rear oil supply holes like we do on Evo engines, or do I absolutely need to buy the sealed bearing to get it done? I need to get this done fairly soon.
If probably not advise it and to be fair it's just as quick to fit the delete kit, the internal blanking shims can be a pain so what I've done in the past is pushed the original bearing over by approx 5mm to blank the oil feed and checking with a sharp 90 degree pic, or if you do it before fitting the crank you can use a air line from the crank mains feed to bc to make sure it's sealed, hope this helps
@@wheelhobbies5021 I was more concerned about the time it would take to have the kit shipped all the way to my door. I live in Sweden (The home of Saabs lol) and if these are shipped from the states it could take weeks before I get them
Reduce rotating mass of the engine plus they rotate twice the speed of the engine RPMs. Far too many stories of balance shafts slowly degrading and filling up engines with swarf. Uksaabs have called it "the silent killer" on a few occasions. Some folks notice nothing once they're out, some folks notice the engine running rougher.
Thanks for posting the video. Just got a hold of Nick and getting one of his delete kits. Thanks. 👍

In real terms you really can't tell any difference after you have done the bc delete, just allows the engine to run more freely,
Can I put the balencer tensioner on without the chain? To seal the oil hole?
currently building a 500 hp b204 fore an e46 compact> where can i buy the balance shaft delete kit.
Hi, find nick chisolm on Facebook and tell him Gary Lloyd sent you

Thought you were a geordie in the beginnnning
Why would one do a balance chain delete?
