So even though his head is screaming "Who the hell pays for parking?", he misses the obvious follow up of "Who the hell thinks a killer is worried about the meter maid?" Hence why he tells Emerson "No one would think to look for that quarter, not even me."

I didn't have the Lee Child reference from the books and I LOVE the Reacher series... its fantastic... but c'mon... lil Tommy C played the part well enough to make me watch it a few times over... and I know a lot of that is from the writing... but people need to stop the hating when this movie likely led to the series that they wanted.

While Tom Cruise is a great actor, and he does really well here, you may be surprised to know that the "real" Jack Reacher in the books probably looks more like Ivan Drago (Dolph Ludgren) from Rocky IV or maybe even Brock Lesnar from UFC/WWE. Also, he is NOT a pacifist or anything like the bar fight in this movie. He strongly believes in attacking 1st, because why give the other guy an advantage and 2nd why try to delay the inevitable? Anyways, just a suggestion.

that what i love about reacher. he's brings a holmes-like anyltical appoarch to the case but adds in common sense. not just about barr as a sniper but also as a person. "who the hell pays for parking?" it makes him stand out from other detectives like perot, holmes, monk, sean spenser, house, etc.
When I first watched this movie, I had completely missed the first scene so I was under the impression that it was James Barr that did the shooting. That made the reveal of this scene 10 times better. Upon rewatching I realise how stupid I was, but had they actually not shown the face of the real shooter at the beginning, it would have made this movie so much better than it already is.
After the initial ogling period. I have to agree this is what being sexy is. no nonsense clothing, no suggesting hip movement dancing. But one lean forward and the whole screen on fire!
What would’ve made this scene 1000x better would’ve been to have not shown who the shooter was in the opening sequence, that way the audience figures things out as Reacher and Co. do. Then, we all would've been looking wide-eyed like Rosamund Pike does here. haha

I haven't seen the Jack Reacher TV series or read the books, but even so, I don't care that Tom looks nothing like the original character or how he is meant to appear. I think he plays the part well and is convincing. I also read that he was protective of Rosamund during filming. He knew she was pregnant, and she was worried about things like getting morning sickness. But he didn't want to replace her, and he looked out for her. He seems to respect the women he works with. Jennifer Connelly liked working with him in Top Gun:Maverick. She was very nervous about the flying scene, but he managed to keep her calm.

Must have watched this movie a dozen times... One of my favorite movies. Very well written and edited... But reviewing this scene there is one very important detail subtly missed... A sniper would never leave his rifle around for someone to just take (steal)... This kinda ruins the movie because this story would never happen...

This is the only Jack Reacher video I've seen today where the book nerds complaining Tom wasn't big enough to play Reacher aren't the most prolific comments or replies. Director knew what they were doing I guess.
Tom's Reacher was way better as he didn't instantly make everyone afraid of him and his muscles. I miss this because it made his fighting moves more unexpected. Tom's character was more of a tactic fighter, not just brute force.
First thing that annoyed me about this movie. Forensics would easily been able to determine the direction of gunfire. Maybe not to "he fired from the bridge" accuracy, but certainly to a different direction than the parking garage
um, the firing did come from the parking garage. Reacher is saying that a trained sniper that wanted nothing more than to kill people would have fired from the bridge. He was able to deduce that the reason the garage was chosen was because he sniper's goal wasn't only to kill people, but to frame James Barr. Also, Charlie was a significantly better sniper than Barr.
I'm sure the director and (and the editors) noticed Ms. Pike's decolletage spilling out all over the place, they just smiled to themselves and said "What the hell? Keep it in the film!" She really could have used a Cami-Secret (look it up here on the Tube), as all that cleavage was distracting from the dialogue of the scene. It was beautiful distraction, but still.

Tom's Reacher was way better as he didn't instantly make everyone afraid of him and his muscles. I miss this because it made his fighting moves more unexpected. Tom's character was more of a tactic fighter, not just brute force.

First thing that annoyed me about this movie. Forensics would easily been able to determine the direction of gunfire. Maybe not to "he fired from the bridge" accuracy, but certainly to a different direction than the parking garage
um, the firing did come from the parking garage. Reacher is saying that a trained sniper that wanted nothing more than to kill people would have fired from the bridge. He was able to deduce that the reason the garage was chosen was because he sniper's goal wasn't only to kill people, but to frame James Barr. Also, Charlie was a significantly better sniper than Barr.

I'm sure the director and (and the editors) noticed Ms. Pike's decolletage spilling out all over the place, they just smiled to themselves and said "What the hell? Keep it in the film!" She really could have used a Cami-Secret (look it up here on the Tube), as all that cleavage was distracting from the dialogue of the scene. It was beautiful distraction, but still.
i don't know why, but this happens to be my favorite scene from the movie.
