This topic of shaming and comparison is relevant to everyone, not just mom's so it is a great choice of topic. The Deuteronomy passage makes me think of the times people in our lives point out God at work in the moments we are living. For instance, it was common, at one time for a friend to say, when something you needed was given at just the right time, "Do you see how God provided for us here?" or when out for a walk, "Look at those flowers! God's creation is so beautiful". In all circumstances it was normal to bring God into the conversation.
38:15 this was so great to listen in on! A note though: your husbands aren't babysitting, they're parenting. It's wonderful having equal partners who are loving and involved parents :)
Please continue with this platform. Young ladies as well as the older generation need to hear how we can hold to our modesty upbringing and not conform to worldly shaming. I love Jayna’s comment about choosing to take her advice from the moms that she can see are doing something that works/ how the parenting tips they recommend pan out for them in everyday life. And basically that you don’t have to be perfect to be a good mom.
Being good at apologizing is SUCH a blessing! I agree, it’s the best way to teach our kiddos what repentance looks like and how to offer forgiveness etc. Mom of 2 boys ages 6 and 4 here too-I’m inspired to go play with them more. On that note…I’m off to play! 💖

I enjoyed this! Megan I like how you say to your kids that they can do “one more fun thing” before you leave. I think the sounds much nicer than reminding them that they have only 5 minutes left. Especially if they don’t have a concept of time. I love hearing how other moms parent. We learn from each other and we can take one or two things from everyone I think. I’m interested to hear what it was like for someone to be adopted into a Mennonite family. Sounds like an interesting story if your cousin is willing to share. Good luck with this new series.
This “podcast” or whatever you’d like to call it was very encouraging. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to see y’all get even more comfortable and dive into more topics ❤
I am a retired labor/delivery nurse. What that nurse told you was completely unprofessional & out of line. No way should she have even brought that up to you. She couldve been fired for that.
Loved the chat and I am a grandma raising 4 precious grandchildren ages 6,8, 10 and 11. I feel that prick of needing to be consistent everyday. I love how down to earth you both are.
Aw, this was such a wonderful video! I loved getting to know Jayna! And what a pretty name! She has a very sweet spirit, like you, Megan. I hope you all do lots more of these episodes. When you were talking about comparison and being shamed over not being a better mom, etc., it made me think of my friend who is feeling such guilt over not having done all she feels she should have through the years in mentoring her children, teaching them about the Lord, etc. I reminded her that more lessons are caught than taught, and all these years she HAS been mentoring them by living out a Christian life in front of them, mistakes and all. Our kids need to see that we fail, and they need to see how we handle those failures. Having to go back and tell them we are sorry keeps us humble. I have had to apologize to our dear son countless times through the years, and all those moments have been live demonstrations of what the grace of God is all about and has strengthened our bond and relationship. God is so faithful to redeem all of our blunders and mistakes and make it all work together for not only our good but the good of our children, too. Keep up the great work, you two! And may God bless you both and your families!
Megan what a great idea to have your cousin on ...im from the south and we dont talk that fast down here ....so when you are excited i can hardly keep up !🤪
I loved this! 😍 I felt the way Jayna did with my C-sections, I felt that I had failed and had to come to the realization that I was so grateful to have babies now a days where medical intervention would allow my babies to arrive safely!!! God's plan was the absolute best for me and my children! I appreciate her willingness to be so open and honest!
I love this! 💛 One thing I appreciated about the conversation on strengths is how some of those things could be seen as weaknesses but if you switch the perspective, it can be your strength. Sometimes I feel like I apologize too much but that can actually be a good thing if I'm doing it from a place of intentional humility. I loved this video!
You ladies are adorable. My two children are 17 and 19 so I'm at a different place. I'm enjoying spending more quality time/chats with them, helping them prepare for adulthood. It's wonderful to see how intentional you ladies are. I really didn't think of all these things when I was a young mom. My son was a bit of a toddler terrorist and I was just trying to survive...lol. My daughter was born 23 months later so I had my hands full. Sometimes I think we should have kids in our 50's. We know more and have more patience! Anyway, just loved this segment. I hope it continues. I still learn things. Blessings to you both! 😀
Adorable! You girls are so sweet. I’m 67 and I have 2 daughters in-law that are so much like you. Thank you for being so open about your faith. How do people survive the world we are in today if they do not know the Lord. Love from Tennessee.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 27:17 ‘As iron sharpens iron, one person sharpens another.’ I think this verse applies to relationships such as what you and your cousin have. This doesn’t seem like just a mom thing but a friend thing. Cousin/friends are just the best aren’t they? This was a great video, keep ‘‘em coming.
I’ve been watching your channel for a long time now, I’m from the UK, I’m a Christian but I’m not a Mum and so while I can’t relate to your motherhood experiences so much of this chat resonated with me anyway! I really enjoyed this and felt so much like a conversation I might have with friends! Thanks Megan and Jayna for sharing and exemplifying your Christianity.
I LOVED this! I’m a Christian mom with three little ones and I related soooo much to this! I had a c-section with my first who was breeched and also had a miscarriage in 2021, then had my third kid last year… I also help my husband with his business, so I’m a busy mom trying to navigate and raise my children for The Lord in these crazy times! Loved the relatable chat and the encouragement! ❤️
I’m currently in Lancaster for a singing gig and all I can think is MEGAN LIVES HERE!! ❤️ Thanks for your intentional content! My mother superpower is communication
This was lovely, but a bit intense to listen to you two talk so quickly (you clearly know each other so well!) One of my super powers is reading stories. I love it so much, and do all different voices. My kid is 12 now, but I still read bedtime stories every night. It’s a great way to wind down and share time together
Almost forgot, I purchased one of your cousins robes. Love the material, colors and style! So soft and comfortable! Lightweight but warm enough for cold days! Talent runs in the family!
I can so relate to Jayna! I have boys and the neighbors are quick to let me know there opinion and while I wanna be respectful to there concerns I also don’t wanna wrap them in a bubble. It really matters the tone and the way a person confronts the issue.
This was needed on so many levels! That you both for being so genuine. I have 4 boys and completely understand the situation your cousin was talking about 😅
Loved this and do keep it up! Loved it! I felt so bad someone spoke to your cousin about having a C-section. I have had three and that was a long long while ago..........I would have given my life to save that baby that God blessed us with as I would today for any of my children. Praise God we both made it safely and have had a beautiful normal life. I feel so sad she had to experience that or any woman would experience anything negative about how a baby is delivered into this world. Blessings
Loved the Holy Spirit v mum shaming comparison. You put something so easily felt, so easily remedied. It touched me so much that I had to replay and write it down!
Please keep this going! Love this! I'm a homemaker also. . . . + homeschool mom, youth leader . . . so much more! It's good to hear other lady about the same place talk life & keep God first!
I LOVED IT!!! OH YEAH! I've been wanting to see a conversation with you and other Mennonite moms for a long while now. Do MORE!! Your cousin is very sweet and super authentic like you are Megan. All I ask is that you turn the title sign horizontal. My OCD was flaring like crazy! Lol!
Id say the biggest superpower for parents/couples is apologize to each other and the kids if it happened in front of someone make sure they see or tell them that you apologized.
I am 62 years old and I am in the grandma (mema) season of my life. Grandbaby #6 came last week and grandbaby #7 is due in July. My mom/grandma super-power is "No shortage of I love yous"!! When my kids were growing up, I told them "I love you" everyday!! Now that they are grown and have families of their own, every conversation, every encounter, and every visit ends in a "I love you"!! I do the same thing with each of my grandkids!! Along with this, I am also a big time hugger, my other super-power!! My super-powers don't end with my family!! My friends also get hugs and "I love yous" on a regular basis. Who doesn't want love or hugs!?! 🤷🏼♀️ Giving hugs and saying "I love you" doesn't come easily or naturally for some people. So I am so grateful that Heavenly Father blessed me with these super-powers!!
I loved this podcast, talk, whatever you call it between you and your cousin! She is so sweet! It was fun and interesting listening to both of you! Looking forward to the next one!
Would love to see you continue this!!!! Your videos and this is such an inspiration!!!! I’m also a stay at home Mennonite mom that struggles with all of this!!! And would love to see moms or people in general lift each other up!!!!!
I'm not on Instagram or fb. I used to be, but I feel much better without it. Not that I think social media is bad, but for me, I feel better without it.
Loved this video … I believe when you can realize your strengths is not prideful but boasting with the intention of “ look at me, look 👀 at me see what I can do , you can’t “ is the one God warms us about. ❤️
I enjoyed this! And interesting that I got a robe from her without knowing she was your cousin and figured it out when I saw her name on this video. Also, I’m an adoptive mom so every time I hear the word “adoption” I want to hear more.
I enjoyed this new series of videos. Your relationship with your cousin is like my relationship with my cousin. One thing I would like to recommend is that the room you are using has an echo that make it hard to understand the individual words you are each saying. I know this room is used as your office and that it has plenty of furniture but if you could add a tapestry or curtain maybe the sound will not bounce off the walls making an echo. I apologize if I offend you or your way of making videos. I am deaf in one ear and the other is very limited, I was in an explosion two years ago and I will never have my hearing back. I hope you understand.
Please please please continue to do this as a series. So uplifting and encouraging after a rough week where I feel I’ve fallen so short as a Mama. Thank you 💕
Very much enjoyed your chat. It was very fun and enlightening. We can all be great moms or nana, in those seasons of life. I'm in nana season. I love learning from you and other precious women of faith.
Megan, it is so funny that you talk about the things people are able to get done during the week and that it “pricks” you, but that is how I feel about you! I feel like you are able to get so much done during the day and I have been reevaluating my life to see how I can do more around the house while still with my daughter.
Loved this! Megan your vlog and ideas just keep getting better! It was a great and encouraging listen! You both gave me food for thought and I'm truly very excited to hear more from Honey I'm Homemaker! As a mom of 3 young boys i'd love to hear some of Jayna's favourite tips for raising boys. Mom strength- fun loving and determined
I was just able to watch this all the way through and it really resonated with me. I'm so excited to catch up on the series. My mom superpower would be giving my undivided attention to my kids.
Oh Jayna so sorry you were shamed....i had 4 c sections! Bless your heart!. You two look so much a like..boys are definitely active...you're a good mom!
I really enjoyed watching your videos today and it was so lovely meeting your cousin, looking forward to your next episode love and prayers from my family to your's xxx
Wow Megan and Jayna, I'm so inspired. I was atheist for most of my life but met Jesus in 2020. I've wanted to follow the Bible as much as possible to honor Him with my life for all He's done and it's been such a blessing to come across your channel and see it being done in a practical way. You're both shining with His love! What a blessing it truly is for you to have grown up that way. I came from a very dysfunctional family and hated God until I decided He couldn't exist all together. It was a rough road but thankfully He never gives up on us and He's healing all the wounds and making all things new. It's beautiful to see the blessing of growing up in the Lord through your lives. And now I have lots of learning and growing to do! :) God bless you both!!
So fun listening to this! When Jayna started talking about her business making robes it made me realize I had bought one for myself a few years ago and one for my mom last Mother’s Day! So sweet to put a face and personality to the person who made the robe I wear often!
This was so fun! I think one thing I have been good at is reading to my kids a lot l. It's probably my favorite thing to do with them because it's easy but it is also good for them.
I really loved this, you are an inspiration! Looking forward to more chats :) I cant help you with the supper/dinner question since I live in Holland..
My father in law would not eat carrot cake. Lol. But at a gathering someone told him they thought it was a spice cake. He ate it and loved it. Which a carrot cake is spice cake with carrots. After that my mother in law would make carrot cake and called them spice cakes and he always ate them.
Wow burning mushrooms at your feet... That's a first time I've heard that. I'm sorry the nurse made you feel that way. I love that yes we would rather the kids be outside having fun taking risk than to be drowned out in the TV's/tablets. I'm enjoying this! Here watching.
Really enjoyed this! Hope you can do more! This is how I know the meals of the day to go.... Breakfast, brunch, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, supper, and midnight snack. Doesn't mean that you have to eat all the meals but that's the order I'm familiar with.
I love this chatty format! It reminds me of Dawn the Minimal Mom's videos with her sister Diana - we need these positive examples of female friendship, as well as the encouragement you give.
I graduate with my master's degree at the end of this week and I've loved your channel the two years I've been here at school. It has been like listening to a friend, especially 2020/early 2021 when students hung out way less. so thanks for putting your personality out there on here!

I hope you understand.
Such a fun video but I wanted to jump through my phone and turn that wall hanging 😂😂 my OCD
This should totally be a series!!
Loved this thank you for your cousin for coming on!
Please please please continue to do this as a series. So uplifting and encouraging after a rough week where I feel I’ve fallen so short as a Mama. Thank you 💕
I absolutely enjoyed this video, I hope it will become a regular feature!!
Very much enjoyed your chat. It was very fun and enlightening. We can all be great moms or nana, in those seasons of life. I'm in nana season. I love learning from you and other precious women of faith.
What a lovely conversation between two lovely cousins. How blessed to have such sweet family live near you.
Oh I love that, "Don't take hate from somebody you wouldn't take advice from"!
Oh, wow. I am not doing a great job of having joy in my current season. I strongly desire the baby phase. I appreciate the encouragement!
Megan, it is so funny that you talk about the things people are able to get done during the week and that it “pricks” you, but that is how I feel about you! I feel like you are able to get so much done during the day and I have been reevaluating my life to see how I can do more around the house while still with my daughter.
Love this video! I can’t wait for the next one! So fun and uncut and real ❤️
I’ve enjoyed this chat time so much. Thank you. It’s “dinner” in our home. When you go to a restaurant, you get a dinner menu, not a supper menu.😁
God bless you both!!
So fun listening to this! When Jayna started talking about her business making robes it made me realize I had bought one for myself a few years ago and one for my mom last Mother’s Day! So sweet to put a face and personality to the person who made the robe I wear often!
I love this video and your channel! My daughter was born 3 weeks ago, so I love all your advice on being a good mom❤
Love having another perspective! Great conversation!
Wow burning mushrooms at your feet... That's a first time I've heard that. I'm sorry the nurse made you feel that way. I love that yes we would rather the kids be outside having fun taking risk than to be drowned out in the TV's/tablets. I'm enjoying this! Here watching.
😊 thanks for watching!
@@jaynaburkholder1507 This was awesome, I'm excited to see what comes from this!
Very excited for more of this! Enjoyed combing through things I do, that I could consider my mom superpower. 😊
I loved this! I can not wait for more of these! Your cousin is just as sweet and beautiful as you!!
I actually enjoyed this talk very much!! I will be here waiting for the next mom talk🌷🌸🌹🙏🏼
I really enjoyed seeing you two together! It was very fun to watch! Great idea! I look forward to more!! 😁
Really enjoyed this! Hope you can do more!
This is how I know the meals of the day to go....
Breakfast, brunch, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, supper, and midnight snack. Doesn't mean that you have to eat all the meals but that's the order I'm familiar with.
great show!!! Y'all are adorable!! Blessings to you! Such an encouragement to young moms...the internet was not around when my babies were little. LOL
I enjoyed this. Definitely a fan of cousin talks on UA-cam :)
Love you both ... Please invite your cousin Jayna again. I don't have children but regardless this was great.
Love this!!! More of this girl chat!!
I just love you two!! I live in central Kentucky and we say “dinner” for lunch and “supper” for …. supper. 😂
That's a huge accomplishment! Congrats!
@@jaynaburkholder1507 thank you!! I am very excited. Feels quite surreal because I’ve been in school for 18 years in a row. Will be interesting to enter the next stage of life 😄 thank you for joining Megan in this video, I’ve enjoyed it!
I have daughters the ages of you young ladies, I so enjoyed this. Your topics still apply to woman of my age possibly in a bit of a different way. Would love to see your moms make guess apperances, I know they would have so much to contribute. Great idea for a Monday video. Ty
