i believe Nicol Bolas and Ugin was once one, but then split into two contradictive part; Good and Evil (like Yin and Yang), based on my assumption above i think there was once a dragon named Ugin Nicol or Nicol Ugin, that is an anagram to something far greater (wow i just figured that) like Liliana Vess ~ Villainess
uncoiling is a single word using all 9 letters of nicol and ugin... and you know... it makes sense... and if Ugin is actually Nicols soul (or spirit) them separating or uncoiling would be appropriate.
I believe Ugin is the Spirit Dragon because he persists after death. Keep in mind, after he had died, he communicated with Sarkon and lured him to the tomb. Ugin is one with the universe, so his spirit persists once his body expires.
Darien W perhaps for you with your tiny brain lol. Just hearing the story is great for me. Getting to see the awesome artwork and cards is just awesome. Learn to appreciate.
Nicol Bolas is angry because as he was younger someone killed one of his Elder Dragon siblings and what if in the past Nicol and Ugin were like best mates or something like that because as twins they grow up and then they had a conflict and the friendship between Ugin and Nicol gets broken Ugin ran away and get catched and killed by dragon hunters and maybe this conflict is Nicol Bolas fault so he has a giant conflict with himself because it's indirect his fault why Ugin dies so maybe that's the reason why Nicol Bolas is terorizing zur whole multiverse to protect himself from another lost like the dead of is best mate twin brother
While the original card was just called Chromium, that dragon did have a full name: Chromium Rhuell. This makes Nicol and Ugin the only two Elder dragons (from this era, anyway) to have single names. There are also elder dragons on Tarkir, but they seem to only have single names like Atarka, Dromoka, and Ojutai.
Some might have! But the story shows this batch of dragons being born, and at least one of them immediately coming under attack by humans and their hounds (or at least, human-like figures, which still means they were there before the dragons.)
This is great. An awesome tool for those of us that don't have the time, to read the whole thing, but want to keep up with the story.
Thank you for making these. I'd love this to be a long standing series on the channel.
The story is what keeps me invested. It's a great story and i can't wait for the show.
Yep, good series. Keep 'em coming guys!

This is my theory too.
The only anagram for Nicol Ugin is Uncoiling, so aside from the anagram thing your theory is spot on
No. Ugin and Nicol Bolas are twins. Yes, they represent the dual nature of dragons, but they are separate entities

Ugin is no way good he is neutral
These are awesome! Thank you so much for these condensed versions.
Nicol is like an edgy teen mixed with a angry old man

@3:35 it’s all part and parcel, the whole elder dragon gig. Phenomenal cosmic powers! Two names...
Concise, simple and fun to watch! Keep these videos coming!

While they were still making duel decks, they should have made a Bolas vs Ugin duel deck.
Each one ruled by a different Dragon. But every ting changed when the fire nation attakt!
I love this though I wonder if there is any intention of going and back and doing the older ones

3:04 Maybe. Ugin thought by killing Nicol, he'd become more powerful than before.
Really like this THANK YOU
Maybe Ugin is not dead but is actualy able to remember things from other timelines
The little animations needs to be done during the whole video. It keeps it visually interesting

Please do more lore after the series.

Ok but Chromium only had one name, so what’s the big deal with two names?
And didn’t the elder dragons exist before humans?
