I have PCOS and been losing my hair for the past 20 years, and looking into transitioning to a wig. This lady did awesome and she looked like all her confidence came back.
This is why wigs are fabulous and everyone should have at least one for protective styling, to try new textures and colors without commitment, or for cases like these.
I loved this transformation! I’m a hairstylist as well and my mom came to me with concerns of hair loss and thinning. I gave her a make over and I recommend she see a trichologist to figure out the root of her hair loss. I also told her wigs have come a long way from what she grew up with, they look nearly undetectable from real hair these days. My wish is for her to feel confident and radiant again like this young woman. Hair loss is a sensitive subject for men and women and should be treated with care. This stylist/wig maker did such a phenomenal job! She looks stunning and you can see she feels stunning! 💛💛💛
This stylist is so gentle and patient! Seeing the customers genuine happiness when they put that wig on is so rewarding. That's why at Silk or Lace, our wig & topper, company we offer free consultations and try our hardest to help customers find their perfect piece. That smile makes the job all worth it!
I recently cut my hair off due to hair loss due to telogen effluvium . I remember freaking out in the shower with clumps of hair in my hand. Wigs have been helpful with me transitioning as my hair starts to fill back in. It's nice to see others dealing with something similar.
Good day. I'm reading the comments and came across yours. I know someone who makes an herbal hair oil. Many women with hair loss of 15+ years are experiencing hair growth. Photos on ig: yelwah9. If you are interested I'll send a bottle to you on me. 🤗. You could also respond directly to me.
Carly looks absolutely amazing and the wig looks so natural! The stylist is very talented! I also think if she ever got tired of wigs, Carly would look gorgeous with a shaved head!
As someone who also is experiencing hair loss I can totally understand the impact it has on one’s self esteem. The wig looks amazing and it looks so natural! This is inspiring me to try on some wigs!
Greetings on IG: yelwah9 there's a young lady that has been having successful results with men and women experiencing hair loss. 9168040176 ask for Vicky. You won't be disappointed.
I'm so happy for Carly. I'm envious of the positive place she arrived to after experiencing such hardship with her hair. I've only had long hair since I was 21, and for the first few years, it was super curly, dense, and thick. My dream ever since I was little. Disclaimer: I am a boy, but I hella embrace this side of me. Now my curls aren't as precise, my hair line is thin, and the right side of my hair is much less dense than the left. I just turned 28 (birthday is on the day this video was posted) and my hair is a fraction of what it used to be, and I don't think I'll ever be able to reconcile with my hair loss the way she has.
Thank you for sharing this story and bringing awareness to something we don't often hear about that many women deal with. I myself suffer from alopecia and this view is so beautiful and empowering to watch. Hair thinning and hair loss takes a toll on your spirit and seeing the support she received from the stylist was amazing! She is definitely glowing in her beautiful wig!

Gorgeous woman! I'm having allot of hair loss too and it needs to be talked about because it happens to SO many women. xx
@@DONTBBALD can look into it. My edges from are gone from braiding them to tight back in the day plus physical changes. I don't know if anything reasonable would work.
Oh my goodness I love this salon! They dyed my natural hair to such a beautiful honey blonde ombré with NO DAMAGE whatsoever! I would recommend to everyone!
It’s great that curly hair is becoming more normalised. I know in the past I used to not like my curly hair. I would always wish it was straight. But now I’ve learned to embrace my curls.
Omg, this is so me. Loved this video, for so many women that deal with hair loss its a struggle. Recently still in the process of finding the right wig.
I’ve been a hairdresser since 1975 my hair has always been thin and fine then going through menopause it fell out. I did all sorts of tricks but in the end I live in Austin where the humidity is high and decided to try a wig and I have not looked back. What a game changer. I probably have 50 wigs. Light brown to light blonde mostly rooted. I’m having so much fun now. I could never get my hair todo what the wigs can do and I can get out the door in a jif. Now I laugh at the rain and wind my hair looks great. All synthetic wigs.
This is so beautiful! Carly, if you're reading this, I think your natural hair looks great as well. You're a stunning woman and I'm happy you have found a solution that works for you :)
This is great! Please do more transformations like this, meaningful and relevant as opposed to people getting pink mermaid hair. So many women suffer w this problem of hair loss and this is valuable content.
Not to sound negative but this is one of the better videos of a hairstyle for women. It’s been a couple videos I watched where I asked myself like....Ikno they not serious 😅. But this one was very cute
Great video! Very much appreciated watching Carly's hair story and how benevolent the stylist was to her. It would be great to have a follow-up video where we find out more about what is causing Carly's hair loss and how she can gain back her hair :)
Hi Carly . We have very similar hair texture . Rosemary essential oil mixed with jojoba oil is REALLY working for me , with derma rolling once a week . Do give it a shot . The wig looks beautiful !
I am struggling with hair loss and it is so nice to see other women talk about it and see what they do regarding their hair loss. If I could afford it I would get a wig too.
@@yudelkaguerrero4694 It's starting to be really bad, almost having bald spots on top of my head. I am going to the dermatologist in three days for tests. Blood, thyroid, all what needs to be done to see what can cause the problem. It would be interesting to hear what products can you recommend? Hope your mother and aunt are better now!
I lost all my hair for health reasons, and for 2 years after that it would only grow in in patches. I wore a lot of pre-tied tichels, snoods, and scarfs. I'm on a fixed income, but I did find some nice inexpensive wigs that looked good. Now that my hair has grown back I sometimes miss not having to take care of my hair. LOL
I finally have gotten the courage to go and just get an amazing, custom Descendants 2 inspired Evie wig. I’ve tried to use the playtime wigs that they used to sell at the Disney Store but they just didn’t last long enough for me for an obvious reason. So now I’m gonna ask them to make a blue human hair wig like the one Evie had in Descendants 2, but WAY better quality.Wish me luck!
I used to have the typical, thick, Indian hair. I loved how fast it would grow out, cause I would change my hairstyle every 4 months. It was a huge part of my identity… a source of expression. However, when I was 17, I started noticing my scalp showing in the back of my head, and I thought it was my shampoo (this was when sulphate-free products started to be available) so I tried a more organic one. It still didn’t work and it got worse a year later. I then realized this was due to my medications for thyroid and endometriosis that I started taking at 16. Now 30, I spent most of the last 8 or so years just hiding my excessively thin hair by putting it up in a bun. I feel sad every morning, or every wash when seeing my scalp.
I am literally in the EXACT same situation. i'm Mexican and have had really tight curls all my life, very beautiful hair that I, too, straightened and hated while in high school. Now, 5 years later, my hair has since grown out and I have become obsessed with it. But over the past two years, I have been losing hair, watching the hair I literally JUST learned how to love fall out in the shower and in my brush, having doctors tell me that it looks "good" to them, and thus, doing nothing about it. I started out with such thick hair that it's been self-sustaining for those two years, still looking "good", I guess. Now, it's come to a point where people are starting to notice. I have always noticed, but now other people can't tell me that it's not happening anymore. Anyways, I'm now in the very early stages of considering wigs after trying to do all that I can to save my hair. It's really hard for me, and I cry when I think about it. I know how traumatizing this is and nobody takes it seriously. Sometimes I feel like i'd rather lose a limb than my hair. I know that sounds a bit ableist and stupid but thats honestly just how I feel sometimes, though I know it's (*definitely*) not logical. I'm really sorry to anyone going through this, it sucks and its traumatizing, and anyone that says "it's just hair" can actually fk off.

Thank you for the info. I feel your pain I am at the point where I don't want to leave the house because of the frontal hair loss. So starts my wig journey.
What is considered hair loss? I couldn’t tell that she was losing hair tbh... and it makes me think whether I am experiencing it too as I lose a lot in the shower
@Rand Raju while it is true everyone loses hair daily (and in shower ofc) other part of your comment is not. Excess hair loss is not only when you have bald spots. She has clearly lost a lot of her hair and yet she does not have bald spots. She had thick and full hair as a child and you can see when stylist braided her hair, those two braids are so thin, so she did experience hair loss. And while sometimes hair can grow back and loss can be reversed, in many cases that is not possible.
It looks like she has thinning in the front. Most people wouldn't notice it unless it's mentioned. Some people were born with thin hair others can become thin later in life for different reasons. Start taking pics if your scalp weekly/monthly because thinning can progress slowly.
