Girl, what?! I was thinking, "She *could* just leave her hair like that and call it day!" Boy, hair stylists/braiders are ARTISTS! It took me a good 5 minutes to do 1 straight part in my Mom's hair, one day. 🤦🏽♀️ That part pattern was *FLY* !
If you've ever had goddess locs or any faux locs done with crochet hair you would know it's the lightest hair style on the planet. Those aren't heavy at all, and she actually said it in the video.
Yeah, me too. The girl is GORGEOUS 😍 would love to see her in another vid wearing something with a 'pop' of color to show her beauty and the details of those locs.
Look at my friend slaying hair AS ALWAYS!! Plus I'm loving how Refinery is embracing melanin and its variety of tresses. Now THAT'S what I call diversity!!!! Bloop-bloop! 💁🏾♀️💕
I love long hair like this and got long box braids a couple years back. It looked great but I found it to be such a hassle. I had my stylist cut them shorter after two weeks. She laughed and was like “I told ya” lol 🤣
Koni 👏🏾slay👏🏾 hair 👏🏾 her and her hair partner Teniequa 👏🏾 slay hair !!!! They are super nice and super professional this is so GOOD TO SEE black women embracing our hair WOW WE LOVE TO SEE IT ... It’s the sisterhood for me
As a white girl, I’m mesmerised at the versatility of Black hair. Each style is so beautiful and you can see how much it means for each woman to reclaim their heritage. I would love to try some of these styles, but I have really fine “white girl” hair and I would be bald if I tried some of these styles; so I LOVE seeing these transformations- vicarious thrills lol ❤️
I’m living!!!! Omg what transformation video you know had the before during and after popping. I mean just amazing! The stylist did her thing!!! Both just was giving queen status
I’m from the bay and I have lived in Brooklyn for 4 years. I’ve neverrrrrrrr seen as many braiding shops and huge beauty supply stores in the Bay Area. Ever. If you have black hair in the bay, good luck finding someone outside of your family to get something like this done.
This is so incredible, so beautiful! The stylist was truly an artist! What would be the average cost of an appointment like this? Absolutely a work of art!
Holy crap! I figured this style would take a while, but I never would have thought 8-12 hours! I'm a white girl and I'm obsessed with black women's amazing hair. Her hair was beautiful before and after!
Light, last long (like three month is you about it lol) and literally the least about of shed hair I’ve ever had with a style. These plus knotless have grown my hair out soooooo much!
The longest I've spent in the shop was 16 hours getting my hair braided I got there at 6 in the morning and didn't leave until 10 that night I had 50 in braid's that was SMALL and I had 3 people on my head at one time😂😂😂 I couldn't sleep for a damn week after that they we're so heavy but after they loosened up you couldn't tell me shit
I know nothing about 'black' hair and was wondering if heat loosens the curl. A beautiful style. I was wondering if it felt heavy but I heard you say no.
I like the ombre color in her hair better than all dark color, I think would've asked for honey blonde mixed in halfway at the ends for a more interesting look, It was very plain and dark, just my opinion but, that's the look she wanted, over all it looks good on her Enjoy Your Hair, MATTERS PEOPLE PEACE&LOVE

The camera men when they found out they were gonna be there until nighttime: 👁👄👁
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😆
😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Hope dinner and lunch was included. 😂
Can we just talk about that braid pattern on her natural hair and how it’s a whole style in itself??? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Yeah I loved how it looked 😀
Girl, what?! I was thinking, "She *could* just leave her hair like that and call it day!" Boy, hair stylists/braiders are ARTISTS! It took me a good 5 minutes to do 1 straight part in my Mom's hair, one day. 🤦🏽♀️ That part pattern was *FLY* !
Girl!
@@m.coleman licensed here and it still takes me 5 minutes don't feel bad. And they teach it in school.
Right, I know. Nice.
Yes! It’s so nice to see black women getting their hair done in such a positive light! YES REFINERY, I SEE YOU❤️!
+jordynelliott 👏🏽 Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
Her natural curls are seriously stunning! The faux locks are everything. Love them.
If you've ever had goddess locs or any faux locs done with crochet hair you would know it's the lightest hair style on the planet. Those aren't heavy at all, and she actually said it in the video.
Yeah its the best 🙏🏾
Finally a stylist that knows what she was doing. It looks so good
i honestly think goddess locs, faux locs and locs are THE most beautiful styles on the planet, i LOVE them
+elanor We are obsessed!!
Refinery29 ikr?!
They ARE!!
I think they look like goddesses especially when done the right way
Mahi Singhvi ikr
Can we talk about the perfect parting???
Right?! The perfectionist inside of me was shook in all of the right ways 😍
Parting hair like that is an artform! It was beautiful! 😍
She laying down the baby hair on the back of the neck. Never thought abt doing that
I thought that was a cute touch too
I like to do that during the rare times I actually slick down my edges. It's such a nice touch.
It’s very considerate, so the delicate hairs aren’t being pulled on back there
My friend does that when she wears a bun or ponytail
Its dumb. Whos gonna see that. I never understood the baby hair trend with gluing hair to skin
Wow! Her hair looks amazing & the stylist has so much talent.
+juliaforget 100% agreed!
She can rock any look!!
+fbspin 100% agree!
The hair stylist is so gentle and really good 💯
Her energy is wonderful!!
I wish she didn’t wear an all black outfit so I can really see how the braids came out!! 😩
I see the braids just fine.
Yeah, me too. The girl is GORGEOUS 😍 would love to see her in another vid wearing something with a 'pop' of color to show her beauty and the details of those locs.
R. R. Thank you! I see it fine as well.
Did anyone else see that at 2:16? 😳 Just me? Okay. Need slow-mo.
@@gr33n3min3mz I had to rewatch that part 😂
Thank you refinery29 for normalizing our hair in a world where many see it as “ghetto” and unprofessional. 🙏🏽
the stylist's hands move SO FAST when she's braiding holy cow
Finally!!! I enjoy seeing beautiful black women and their hairstyles 🤎
+laurenjewel Thanks for watching with us!!
Omllll her smile is so beautiful 😭 and she looks so happy🥺🥺

+trayalvarez Thanks for taking the time to watch!!
@@refinery29 The pleasure was mine XO
the stylist's nails are so cute!!
These faux locs came out amazing! They’re going to look even more beautiful with time. The hairstylist NAILED IT!
This is the representation we need. The style is wonderful. The model, the hairstylist , kudos to everyone. Love this!
I deadass would wear the braids as is and put some beads at the end
lol
Right!! The pattern of the parts were a style on itself
Her natural hair is absolutely gorgeous and the locs look amazing on her as well!
I love long hair like this and got long box braids a couple years back. It looked great but I found it to be such a hassle. I had my stylist cut them shorter after two weeks. She laughed and was like “I told ya” lol 🤣
Omg she’s lovely 😊 and the hair came out great!
That parting is just 🤌🏾
Wow! The locs suit her so well!! The hair stylist did an amazing job 😍
Koni 👏🏾slay👏🏾 hair 👏🏾 her and her hair partner Teniequa 👏🏾 slay hair !!!! They are super nice and super professional this is so GOOD TO SEE black women embracing our hair WOW WE LOVE TO SEE IT ... It’s the sisterhood for me
She was really beautiful before as well as after
Finally, a video where someone’s hair actually looks different and suits them well!
Luv the parting ... N those locs are everything!
So cute but holy crap my neck and back hurt just looking at them.
Crotchet hair is very light
brianne g exactly...I have them in right now (butt length)and they aren’t heavy at all
@@kaonashii. How long does i take for then to be dry after showering?
Elisa Mondragon you wouldn’t let them get wet. Just pile it on top of your head when you’re showering
@@elisamondragon2849 you don't wash them. Crochet, box braids, etc don't require washing. They last for months without washing
Gorgeous. You can tell how powerful she feels with them🖤
Went to high school with Koni!!! Love it!!
Sure.....
+khadijahlockhart That's so cool! :)
Im jealous of her curls, mine are so dry >__
She’s beautiful! & Her hair came out soooo good 😍😭😭😭

Exactly please don't try it
Our african hair styles are not for you. Glad you noticed. So don't even try it 🚫🚫🚫
Yes R29! This is what we wanna see! Normalize women of color with natural or curly hair & their protective hair styles.
Both her natural hair and the faux locs are SOOOO STUNNING 😍
I love it, it really suits her! I'm just not a fan of that length. 😶
Wow her curls and gorgeous and the blocs after look so good too 😍😍😍
Also shoutout to that stylist like wow she did an incredible job
I think they should've been waist length and had some hair jewelry! 👌🏽
I'm a hairdresser myself, but did never anything like that. I love to see, what is possible and far beyond my horizon.
you just need to practice!
Can we talk about how koni came into the camera looking BOMB. I choked on my damn cocktail 🤣
She does look like a goddess! They look so good!!
I’m living!!!! Omg what transformation video you know had the before during and after popping. I mean just amazing! The stylist did her thing!!! Both just was giving queen status
it amazes me the level of technique, black women are pioneers on hair styles
Love love love this, 👏🏼 representation 👏🏼 matters! Her locs are so gorgeous!
I’m literally crying cause in London this hairstyle will cost me £310 and I also know they won’t do as great of a job 😭😭😭
wow she's beautiful! LOVE the long faux locs look on her
i feel like the cameramen also fell in love with michelle and koni's incredible work with those final beautiful shots

Black women are so amazing 🥺 aaaah I'm always so amazed to see what black hair can do! 💖
Whoa, Beyoncé's long lost sister! Seriously thought it was Bey then her younger pics looked like Blue Ivy.
that parting was ✨flawless✨
This is so incredible, so beautiful! The stylist was truly an artist! What would be the average cost of an appointment like this? Absolutely a work of art!
GO OFF SISS!!! she looks so much more confident 🥺
Shout out to the stylist, that woman deserved the biggest tip ever. What a talented goddess.
Wow I could NEVER sit down for a hairstyle for 5+ hours.
But it looks amazing😍
Holy crap! I figured this style would take a while, but I never would have thought 8-12 hours! I'm a white girl and I'm obsessed with black women's amazing hair. Her hair was beautiful before and after!
You look beautiful Michelle!! Well, you were anyway. This is awesome!!
I’m so glad she loved it. She sounds like she was about to cry at the end!
IT'S THE PARTING FOR MEEE!!
LOVE how these turned out! I wish I had the patience to sit still and get these lol
She is badass beautiful. It's a shame she wore a black shirt though, as it makes it difficult to see the beautiful work Koni did.
She looks so good! Flatters her so much more in my opinion.
Watching her part and braid her hair was so therapeutic!
Looks so good! Wonder if it’s heavy 🤔
Their crochet so it is actually very light if they were to be actually wrapped around it would be supper heavy
Light, last long (like three month is you about it lol) and literally the least about of shed hair I’ve ever had with a style. These plus knotless have grown my hair out soooooo much!
I like the look but that length not doable. maybe mid back wouldve been more wearable. but loved the braid patten
The braids itself was a whole vibe🔥😃
Sis looks insane! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
This hairstyle totally makes her beautiful face pop!
BIG VENUS ENERGY 😍 we love to see it! Loved hearing her journey to natural!!!
I love this.. the stylist did a great job 👏🏾
Her curls are sooooo pretty. (her faux locs are pretty too)
She's gorgeous and the faux locs look amazing.
She's looking gorgeous 😻
It's like she's shining ✨
this might be the best look from this show
Her natural curls are gorgeous 🤩
Yasssss hunnny! Those locs look amazing on her! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I would watch a four hour video of someone getting their hair braided. Its so interesting!
😱😱😱 that’s a LOT of hair! Her curls are pretty & so are the locs. 😍😍😍
Dang!! Connie snapped, the parting looks good, and she even swooped the baby hairs!! I see you Connie! Lol
I know nothing about 'black' hair and was wondering if heat loosens the curl. A beautiful style. I was wondering if it felt heavy but I heard you say no.
Di Lynn Vee yes heat loosens the curls..
It can but not always
temporarily and it usually damages the hair n the process.
Seeing her light up at the end was worth it
I'm in love with it. I wish there was hairstylist who know about curls where I live too.
Her hands moved so fast doing those braids, what a pro!
she doesn't even look like the same person what an amazing transformation👏
ok but these locs look so good on her 😍😍😍😍😍
Her natural hair is so beautiful
Beautiful job done, style worn and wearer. Wow the talent
She's so pretty
She’s sooo beautiful!!!
I like the ombre color in her hair
better than all dark color, I think
would've asked for honey blonde
mixed in halfway at the ends for
a more interesting look, It was
very plain and dark, just my
opinion but, that's the look she
wanted, over all it looks good on
her Enjoy Your Hair, MATTERS

She looks like she's related to Beyoncé - especially in the thumbnail and her childhood photos. Just me?
Yep! I saw Blue Ivy too🥰
