Found your channel through the 2024 #threeriverschallenge and I'm kinda addicted to your larger than life personality..........the addition of your daughter just made this video so wholesome ☺️😻. She did an awesome job. She takes after her mama!!!
Love this video. So creative 😊 Alex is a doll, and that cookbook you gave her is fantastic. I think its awesome when a young person learns skills to ensure they can be self sufficient. Take good care!
Alex loves to cook and bake. We have been reading Anne of Green Gables together before bed, and she loves it as much as I did when I was a kid, so I was so pleased to find this book.
I was determined this year to do a meal plan and stick to it, but the first day, I had already broken the plan. I understand the benefits of it too, but sometimes it pays to be fluid and go with the flow. I am very artsy, and crafty, and I love being creative, even with food.
I am a new subscriber. Love pantry challenges! But this channel is extra cool because it looks like the whole family participates with great info and ideas.
Thank you so much. Growing food is a passion for the whole family, for sure. But it is so great for the kids to know where their good comes from and what to do with it.
Alex is 11 and we are reading it together before bed. It takes me back as I loved the books when I was younger and haven't really read them since, and I want her to read them before she watched the movies. A Canadian classic 😀
Alex loves to cook and bake. She is 11 going on 30 😆. She used to talk about doing her own cooking channel, so hopefully, she will participate occasionally.
No rest for the wicked, lol. It has been really go, go this year already, and we are only 6 days in. Alex loves to cook and is a great help there. Hopefully, she will learn soon that cleaning up is part of the cooking 😆
Alex and I are in the process of watching Anne with an E on Netflix and are quite enjoying it too.... different from the original and doesn't follow the book as well, but still good.
I'm glad you found us and glad you are enjoying the content. I am so excited to have got this channel up and running and to share this side of our lives. The whole family works hard to grow our food, and it is so nice to find amazing ways to put that food to use. Thank you for watching along!
So many great ideas! I slept in lots during the holidays too. I'm going to give your granola at try, just need to get some seeds. I'm allergic to peanuts and tree nuts so granola is always a challenge. You, just casually saying you usually use butter has blessed me! I never knew I could do that. I've got 2 turkey carcasses and a few chicken carcasses on the go today to get some soup on the shelf. I pulled some chicken meat out of the freezer to use up as well. I'm feeding myself, hubby, and our adult son and we like "meaty" meals so I'm pumping up the meat content in the soup. Hubby can't stand cooked carrots so I have to skip those.
Sounds like you are busy there as well. The granola is great with butter. The peanut butter was a nice treat, but all schools here are nut free. I was thinking next time to add dries cranberries to it after it has cooled.
What a fantastic video! Do you have a video showing the seasoned ground beef for chili? I LOVE when I grab a bunch of random bags and use them up vs having to throw them away. It is a very freeing feeling
I really want to try your granola recipe. I make lots of yogurt and can't get my kids to eat it often enough. I think chocolate granola might do the trick. 😊
Oh, it will. I always make our yogurt plain with a tiny bit of honey, and everyone's favorite way to eat it is with homemade raspberry jam and the granola. Let me know how it goes 😀
Great video Steph! Your daughter does a great job at helping out too, and she's great on camera. 😊
She loves it! And does a good job. I am hoping she will participate a bit more with this channel.

Thank you so much! I am so proud of Alex. She is always eager to help and learn yet independent atvthe same time.

Your daughter did a great job and I love your ideals for throwing meals together with what you have.

Your daughter is an absolute doll. She’s adorable and very well spoken. She did a great job with the lemonade segment!
Thank you so much. She loves to cook and help with that, now if only I could get her to clean her dishes..... baby steps, lol.

We love Anne of Green Gables, too.
My husband is reading the first book aloud to our 10 year olds right now.

Just like her momma! so sweet :)
Alex has her moments 😆 She loves to cook.
AWESOME JOB YOUNG LADY !❤😊
Alex is a very talented cook, now if only I could get her to clean up the mess she makes 😆. Baby steps.
You really can do it all Steph. Good to see you have an apprentice.

I love your earrings! I have a pair of the same style in blues!
Thank you so much. Was my first time putting in earrings in over a year.... should have chosen differently 😆
So interesting! I'm a big fan of the "Anne of Green Gables" books. Love how you work with what you have.

I can tell. You have been cooking for awhile. 😊
I love to cook, and because we grow most of the base ingredients, it challenges us to cook from scratch.
Just found your channel and love watching your family! Your food looks delicious! It’s giving me some good ideas to try.

cute daughter....i love anne of green gables
I was so happy when she started reading it as it was a favorite of mine when I was younger.

I haven't done the meat as its own recipe video, but I have had a few people ask, so I will next time for sure. I love emptying as much as filling 😆.
