Fishing For Bass on the Sabine River and Louisiana Marsh

I'm back out on the Sabine River system and on this trip, I finally had a good sack of bass!
Conditions were really unique on this day. A cold front just blew in, the full moon was the night before, the tide was falling hard, and a really strong cold front was coming in that night. There was so much going on.
I decided to hit some areas I found using google earth and I fished some old spots I like. My favorite area on this trip was this flat I found in the Louisiana marsh. I plan to spend a few days back there after seeing all of the grass and deep water it had around it. It should have some big bass in it. It's only a matter of time before I find them!
My main three baits on this trip was a Strike King splash in an oyster color, a Bill Lewis MR6 crankbait and a Texas rigged baby brush hog on a 1/8oz lead weight. I fished 3' and less for the most part targeting shallow grass, reeds and marsh drains that dumped into a creek or main bayou.
I didn't weight my fish on camera but my best 5 went 8lbs 4oz.
This is a very challenging body of water unless you're fishing the private waters of Louisiana then it's pretty easy fishing.
If you do decide to fish out here, make sure you have the correct state license for the body of water you're fishing. The game wardens don't play around!

Awesome video man, what did you use for your livewell cooler? Ever had any problems with it keeping fish alive?

Thanks bud. I have a Rtic with a 12v battery pump. I’ve made several livewells exactly like this over the years and I’ve never had one fish die on me. I’ll do a video on my livewell set up soon.
