It's easy to learn to play with 4 strings when your strings keep breaking and you dont have the money to replace them. It sounds surprisingly good after a while
@Kgb He's not playing anything technical though. He's playing folk punk. Like yeah, it's cool and punk, but it's not something you need 6 strings for, pat plays music which is mostly power chords (I play a lot of his songs) it would be much different if you were playing something like Lamb of Gob or Pantera where those strings are detrimental to playing.

That folks is a true artist able to handle instrument failure and still just rip the string off and kill it effortlessly while at the same time having the most fun out of anyone there
@big0ginge nope pretty sure he only has 4 strings at most, not 5. It definitely looks and sounds like he has the low E and A strings and maybe the high E or G. I'm positive that he wouldnt break his D string without breaking another one first
@linkin1995 not to burst ur buble man but im pretty sure he has more then 3 strings. look at the head of the guitar, the high strings are just really hard to see. but he did play with 5 and thats pretty bad ass too! haha.
