Neil should be up there with the greatest guitarists of the 20th century, he wrote songs and music, played guitar and produced, very few people can achieve what he did. His music and songs told the story of many generations of our history. When he is gone many will hear and love his music and it will pass down from generation to generation, it will live and inspire forever. God bless you for your stories and music
I had the pleasure of making a friend at this show who was relatively new to Neil. They were blown away even before this song. Once Neil hit that first drippy A-minor chord to get things moving, I knew what was about to happen. I said to my new friend, "Enjoy, I'll see you in 20 minutes or so." I don't think their jaw left the ground the whole time.
I was there for this weekend.... Cowgirl was awesome as was the full moon..... It was a surreal night for sure. Love to Neil, Lukas, Tato, Anthony, Corey, Micah.....
I was there with my sister and her best friend and this was by far the best weekend ever AND Neil was the best of the weekend. Neil Young blew everybody else away!!! His sound was immaculate!! Everybody else was good too, but not this good!!!
And that my friends is how it was in the sixties . You went to a concert and you never knew what you were going to get . from too drunk or stoned to play , to the epic jam that sent you into other dimensions. that was astounding !
Well indeed, I drink a few Belgian strong "good" beers and I can keep listening to Neil's music forever!!!Also when I' am not drunk ;-) I was too young in the sixties, but learned to listen to Neils music in the late 90ties. Till now I' ve seen uncle Neil a 10 times live (in Belgium) and also with POTR. They are great too!.Hope that Neil does a farewell tour and visit Belgium one time! Fan forever !!!

Thanks spacepilot of my choice for all rounded guitarist of the last 50 years plus that I have been seeing him perform... I love the balance he and Dylan have when performing together! Heaven!

I was there, and just a bit downwind from Bill Walton. The audio on this video does not do the reality of it justice. Cowgirl, Down by the River, Cinnamon Girl, and Harvest Moon while under a real full moon on a clear desert night. Effing Awesome!
How do you define that moment between the potential and greatness? Not always easy but this comes close. Neil will always be the the devilishly amazing artist he is. Bradley Cooper was at this set. After the show he contacted Lukas Nelson about teaching him how to be authentic as a musician. And an Oscar and a Grammy later the amazing movie A Star is Born came to reality. To witness that magic moment is something special. I give Bradley kudos for not seeing Bob Dylan, Paul Macartney, The Who and the Rolling Stones. Which Lukas has connections to all 4.
Just an incredible piece of music performed with almost gay abandon...19.minutes but you still yearn for more...one of my all time favourites off arguably his greatest album...and that among so many great albums...
Rob DePolo, he plays it so infrequently. I’ve always wanted to see the complex interplay between the guitarist on this piece. I’ve listened to the album countless times. Mesmerizing. Sound quality on this video not so great, but thanks so much to the videographer for capturing this moment with the musicians!

Close. But not quite. As far as I recall he was in his bed with a temperature of 102 at his ranch in Topanga canyon, California. If I'm not mistaken "Cinnamon Girl" and "Down By The River" were also written at this time. These songs are on the May 1969 album " Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. "

Neil is going a so personnal way to play and sing , his notes are only hits nobodi does it so , He has nothing to do with pentatonic scales and so on as Franck zappa DID HE OWNS his sound and notes even its tune .
They were on absolut fire ,on that tour. Saw them a couple of times on the European leg, and they smashed it.. Watched NY more than 30 times, but the almost 3 hours these guy played af the Roskilde Festival in to the ground, the real "electric set" began with a 30 min ; Love to Burn and ended with 30 min Love and Only Love, it was was out of this world..
Love and Only Love is such a burner! I saw Neil and the Horse 2011 tour and they opened with a 15 minute jam of it. I would have been happy if they jammed it for two hours and that was the set. Probably my favorite Neil & Crazy Horse song.
Interesting that most of the time the guitarist on the left seemed to be watching Neil intently as if to see how to jam. The bassist in the middle not so much. And the guitarist on the right seemed to be ignoring the rest of them altogether.

I was there that night too with my marvelous wife, Nina. Simply transplendent.
I was there that same weekend with 4 other buddies. We grew up listening to everything played that weekend.
