These are fantastic, I have so many abandoned sketchbooks that I'm now taking time to full and use it for studies and really just practice instead of worrying I just zone out and really take my sketchbook personal instead of if it was for a teachers review or a specific style I want it to come to me from my brain and these sketches really got my motivated to let loose
I love your sketchbooks a lot more than the ones that are minimalistic and very curated. I hope my sketchbooks can look like yours one day. I hate being a perfectionist. It ruins a lot. It stumps me so hard. I just watched your video you most recently released on this subject. I really needed to hear that I can be messy and that nothing is original, etc. So, thank you!
You got this!! give yourself time and grace to ease into being more messy. as a fellow perfectionist, it’s an acquired skill to intentionally be more messy or loose, so give yourself time 💕💖 happy drawing!
I've been really excited for the second part of your sketch book tour :) Also thanks for recommending Bridgman's Guide. Since I saw all the figure studies you did, I wanted to try that too. Maybe I'll figure out anatomy eventually :')
Mannnn this makes me want to get back into art. Around middle school is when I decided I wanted to be an artist, and that lasted all through high school. I was in all the AP art classes. I was super convinced this was gonna be my life. I graduated, pandemic happened, never had any plans to go into college anyway. I wanted to do webcomics, post my art, etc. This was it. Then, entirely by accident, I dove went headfirst into writing sci-fi/fantasy novels. I've never looked back. I thought drawing was my passion, but it's absolutely nothing compared to writing/editing. I still draw now and then, but watching sketchbook tours reminds me of when drawing was EVERYTHING. It's bittersweet to realize it's now an occasional hobby for me, since it can never top writing, but seeing other people passionate about art lets me live vicariously through them lol. It was a joy seeing this old sketchbook. Thank you for giving a tour!
hi just wanted to say thanks and i love your videos! i taught myself to paint digitally during the pandemic but a lack of drawing knowledge has really prevented me from finding my own style and moving past copying a reference. seeing how you practice and approach shapes has helped me a lot and my drawing has improved a ton in just the last week. thank you again!
This is from high school!! the college dancing classes are in a different sketchbook 😅 buT YES good times, wish we could’ve gotten some more sessions in before graduation:’) thank you for watching Vince!!
Story time: In 2022 I finally got back into art after leaving it some 15 years prior for the same reasons people say they are intimidated to art now. I was seeing so much art that was so much better than mine, digital art was the new big thing. Finally after all this time I’ve got to the point where I’m like “you know what eff this I like doing art it makes me happy”. And I’m seeing art that spans the horizon and I actually believe what I said when I was young- “everyone’s art is for somebody” Anyway thanks for this video I know there’s someone out there that will see it and not give up on their art journey!
Absolutely loved this sketchbook tour! Most of the time I can’t really watch sketchbook tours because I think they’re to boring but I actually watched the whole thing! Ur sketchbook itself is gorgeous and so inspiring and you also have a very nice voice :))🫶🏽
Doll great video 🤩 really enjoyed seeing the work u put into ur sketchbook 😊 i agree never let what someone else says get u to stop ❤ ur on a journey u will find what makes ur art grow 🪴 love looking back at older sketchbooks I just wish I hadn't lost some over the years but 😅 it happens
This is fantastic 😮, I cannot finish anything and I have just started a sketch book hopefully I finish it. Personally I love seeing other people's work and just looking at it and analyzing it helps me see what I could do to make my art better and maybe they could do the same for my artwork, keep up the good work!!!
6:55 that looks like Felix and Chan from Stray Kids I can’t unsee it omg 😭😭 Idk if it’s j a coincidence but I love ur art sm it’s like so dynamic and pretty !!
Hey what do you use for the darker sketches. They look almost like graphite but they're too dark to be. Is it a darker colored pencil or ball point pen or what? I wanna use something like that in my sketchbook.
There's something in your pencil sketches that I really love!
thank you so much!!💕💕

I think it was probably ballpoint pen for most of the darker sketches! highly recommend sketching in ballpoint pen!
@@sketchesofshay I made some the other day. Favorite part of the page. It's so dark but so easy to get to go light I love it.
