  • In today's video, you are going to see how to brief a SID (Standard Instrument Departure) and prepare a Boeing 737 for departure.
    When briefing a SID it is important to have a clear structure, usually, going from the top to the bottom left to right will help to make sure you won't leave anything behind.
    In the video, you will see how important is to take the terrain into considerations when briefing a SID.
    I'm going to talk about the Climb Gradient required and you will learn how you can figure out what is the rate of climb that you need to maintain in order to comply with your Standard Instrumental Departure.
    You will learn how to set the right VOR frequencies on the NAV radios of the Boeing 737 and how to set the courses in order to have a backup in case you lose the RNAV capability.
    We are going to talk about Speed and Altitude restrictions and at the end, we perform a x-check with the SID route on the FMC in order to make sure that all points are in there.

    What do you set as course when it is pure RNAV Departure ?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  Рік тому +1

      Usually you set the courses for the non rnav departure... So you are ready to change in case you lose the PRNAV
