    I wish the law would let you build something with a bigger motor. I had a friend years ago that had a motorcycle with a single cylinder 500cc two stroke. He called the "thumper" . The sound was so cool. Could you imagine that on a bicycle? Might be a little overpowered.

    Rub and Buff can be used on plastic as well, really any smooth surface you want to appear metal. Try using less when applying, just a BB size dab on a cloth covered finger and rub it in. A little goes a long way. Bikes look great !

    Did you buy the van with the Austin engine?
    Info. Austin 'B' Series engine, 1200cc in the Metropolitan, and Austin Devon/Dorset, 1500/1600cc in the MGA, 1800cc in the MGB and Austin Marina (see Ed Asner driving one in 70's/80's TV series where he was a newspaper editor - sorry, I forget the name)... that would make that van go quite well..... then you'd need to do something about the brakes :-)

    just for kicks.. if you can get some small leather scraps... or cut up an old leather belt.. try that for polishing.. the cloth or papertowels absorb the abrasive.. the leather cannot absorb very much.. its hard to move between abrasive compounds... so have several piece.. and rubber band them to the bottle to prevent mixing up a course grit impregnated version with a fine grit bottle of compound..

    Hey Darrin,
    While watching this video, I had an idea(I know - they always get me into trouble!) On one of your bike builds, I thought it would look awesome to have an exhaust made out of an old aluminum baseball bat! I don't even know if they are even hollow, but I guess you might be able to find one at a yard sale an cut it open?

    • @mustie1

    Hey bud, maybe that fan cowling could use a bit of added 'distress' -maybe beat it up a bit with a string of nuts and bolts, and add a few small shallow random dents... then hit er with the shoe dye, and a bit of real grime. :)

    • @DetroitMicroSound
      @DetroitMicroSound 7 років тому

      Ah! One more thing man.. I bet it would be easy to make a tuned pipe out of that bat, which would probably give ya quite a boost in performance, and fuel savings, even if you just wing it, and do some guestimating on the geometry. you've already got a diverging section, and a belly...Now you just need a converging section you can shove down the end of the pipe, and try it in different locations along the length of the already existing belly, until you get closest to wherever you want it tuned most. ..Lol, you could almost shove a metal funnel inside there... and you'd already have the basis for your stinger, as well. :)
