- In this episode, I visit the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska. What an impressive sight. Because of dangerous crevasses, I am only allowed to walk on the glacier with a guide who knows the ice very well..
The next day, I continue to Anchorage, where I drop off my CRF300Rally with Bill, from Bayshore Moto. He did a fantastic job on my bike and can recommend him to everyone needing service on their bikes.

It was nice to meet you Noraly and it was my pleasure to get you back on your way to finish your epic adventure safely!
We all are glad to see people like you, precise and willing to get the best. You keep the world go round, as someone said already. Noraly was lucky tomeet you face to face.
A lot of fixing to Alaska and you just did a great job. That running noise Noraly heard at the start of the last episode near the cylinder when she wanted to leave, were you able to fix that too? Anyway: Bravo!
Hi Bill. Did you hear of Noraly before? She is such a gem in exploring the world and taking us with her. I really appreciate what you have done for her and getting he safe back on the road. Keep up the good work.
Bill I'm glad you responded. I scolded Noraly for saying what a GREAT job you did on her bike but failed to mention your last name or the shop's name for future travelers to find you. Nice job.

Let us all say thank you to Bill who made the rest of the series possible 👍
Thank you Bill for helping our Norley stay safe
Thanks Bill for helping Noraly add to her awesome adventure and keeping her safe!
Thank you Bill ! 👍👍
Thanks Bill🎃
Bravo Bill!!!!!!❤
I love hearing her read, "danger, road is unsafe", then accelerating. 🤣
Hey, she's a fearless rebel, right??!!
That road was pristine by Itchy Boots standards. 🤪
And that was with no oil in one fork, which should decrease handling.
There is a story about those signs... I believe another land owner at the bottom doesn't like the tourist traffic so he throws those signs up in hopes of tourists seeing them and then deciding not going down the road. That road is perfectly safe. Lots of large rvs go up and down that road all the time in the summer.
I had that exact same thought. :)
Hello Itchy, I worked on a commercial fishing vessel in Alaska. For two days, the wind blew over one hundred knots. It was really rough and we worked hard to stay afloat and alive. Our skipper and our boat were true to the test and all was good. The third day, we had to navigate up into Fredrick sound...Mendenhal glacier had calved hundreds of icebergs into the water. The rough seas the days prior had washed many whole tree trunks from the shore line. Some of them were bobbing straight up and down in the water, called dead heads. We tossed a rope onto a strange shaped iceberg and pulled it close to the ship. We then broke a huge chunk of the blue ice free and used it on board for ice. It was the cleanest tasting ice and the most solid ice I have ever experienced. I just wanted to share that with you. Smiling, George.
Far out.
My brother was a master mechanic at a car dealership and eventually had to leave due to no time to do complete work or to check the work. It is always better to find an independent mechanic like Bill who cares and has time to really do the necessary repairs. Always be super grateful to find mechanics like Bill!
good point, I just started using a private master mechanic. He has much more curiosity and diligence about troubleshooting problems than any dealerships I've dealt with.
Thanks to Bill and his special skills and every Bike and Person that donated to Alaska!
Guys like Bill are rare and must be cherished& Protected of all costs! They literally double your survival rate on the road!
Here we have another undeniable example of the traveller's well-known truth: "It's not the places you go, it's the people you meet." Noraly draws good vibes to herself by emanating the same.
How can these 28 minutes pass by so fast? I'm totally hooked on these latest episodes, so much fun but most important : information and education. Congrats Bill for helping Alaska and Noraly Greetings from Brazil😎🇧🇷

*Ok so Chris & Crew, thank you so much for getting Ms Noraly in touch with Bill. Chris the string lasted and did it's job. A huge thanks to Bill for working on and getting the extra's parts that were and are needed for Miss Alaska. Top blokes all round. PS: The sheepwool on the bike seat, does make any ride that much more comfortable too.*
simply love to see Alaska and Noraly pampered !!!!+
A big thumbs up. Today we got a private tour of a glacier. With an in-depth explanation of all the features we were seeing. A spa treatment with authentic glacial mud. A nibble on a 600 year old ice cube. And even more.
Alaska got some well deserved TLC. New shoes, and some experienced parts to replace the worn out ones if stock replacements were not available. Bill went above and beyond to bring Alaska back to the shape 39,000 km can extract.
Thanks for all you do to bring us the best.
"I rarely know what I am doing" I love that quote.
600 years old souvenir of drinking water in the pouch. Check.
Chewing primordial-yet-fresh water popsicle. Check.
Beautiful and Epic aerial montage of the Glacier. Check.
Legendary Mechanic of Anchorage, new bolts, chain, and sprocket. Check.
What a day! You had a really great guide on the glacier. Just getting to hike and spend some time with truly a knowledgeable guide was fantastic. Again, Chris comes to the rescue by recommending Bill. What a great mechanic and so willing to help you! Very rare indeed! Thanks for sharing a wonderful day in Alaska! Ride safe Noraly!
It's nice to know that Bill and people like him still exist. So much bad in the world...let the good SHINE and be noticed. Health & happiness to you Noraly.
guys like Bill are hard to find, Bill has a passion and skill for motorcycles that only a few have. Thank you Bill
And they really shouldn't be. I guess it's hard to justify a seldom-occurrence fix-it event but then again, there is a certain joy in being exactly that: a seldom occurrence. "See? I don't hafta do this ALL the time, but just enough to keep my skills at their best." I mean, in a Real Shop, they have experience with THEIR equipment's parts but may not have much knowledge at cross-brands.
Thanks to Bill, and all the great people that has helped Noraly on her journey to Alaska. Safe travels.
I got hooked in season 4 and went back to catch up from season 1. My husband and our adopted son got hooked too. Love Noraly to bits. She feels like family.
Alaska has been one hell of a motorcycle for this adventure.
Every state needs a mechanic like this guy. He went the extra mile and a half.
Once again angels watching over Noraly! Thanks Bill for getting Alaska back in shape. Glad to see the hydraulic lines and other cables routed correctly now. Can't believe the dealer where she got the fork seals installed did such shoddy work.
The Glacial tour was very interesting and the guide was very personable . He was informative but not overly science descriptive . I enjoyed that . I had an uncle that was very much like Bill ( your mechanic ) his name was George Phillips and not only thorough like Bill but an absolute genius mechanic . My uncle made a riding mower tractor and push mower long before anyone else thought of them . He hand built and flew a small airplane , an inboard boat and shed full of small model airplanes . His mid 60's Triumph , BSA and Cushman motorcycles were always in his living room . He was my brother's and I's hero ...amazing man . Miss my uncle George everytime we visited him we spent hours listening to his advice on motorcycles and mechanics . PK
Walking on a glacier, seeing all the blue ice and tasting it-what an experience to share! Again, made my day! Thank you! Bill was a real blessing, took great care of our fav lady rider!
I was beginning to think that Noraly was not really meeting and talking with many folks in the US and Canada compared to Central America, despite meeting Ed, of course, and chainsaw George out in the middle of nowhere. But in the last couple of postings we've enjoyed the company of copper-mine-man, and glacier-man, and the rather wonderful bike mechanic Bill. So these meetings and conversations are happening after all. Which is great, as they fill in a lot of background and help Noraly on her way.
It was chainsaw Roger.
The memories, the “experiences!” You’ll never forget them! 🙏🏼
I'm living vicariously through your adventures, Noraly.
I like your explanation of the individual mechanic shop vs at the dealership. Those folks at the dealers are good service techs but that's what they are taught to do, be service techs, not mechanics. We are not the same. The passion a mechanic has is different. The little details like him seeing the drag on yourr rear brake mechanism and master cylinder getting cleaned and freed up. Those little things stack up and give a personal touch. The observation of the lean condition, making sure you had personalized fork tube guards, mirrors that will work (even though they are borrowed from another bike)
Those things all stack up and make it feel like a home shop when you are far away from home. A trust is earned in a place like that. Thanks for the great content.
Never would I have thought that I would actually SEE and Walk (with you) on a Glacier!. Noraly, only YOU have given us up close and personal the many Wonders of our World. What a Hoot!
Every video reflects your spirit of adventure, curiosity and the beauty of the world we share. Thank you being a super enjoyable reflection of spirit.
I was lucky enough to spend 20 years working with technicians like Bill. Because of his experiences he knows were to look, wear area's. Dealers don't spend the time because they dont get paid to look for area's of concern, that Bill knows exist on most any off road bikes. That doesn't excuse the fact, that they should tell you it needs attention or maintenance. It sounded like he mentioned the output shaft drive splines have considerable wear on them which is a major repair. The white spark plug shows the bike is running lean and is how modern bikes run due to emission tuning. Reflashed ECU's help this, driveabilty and mileage. The only way your fork seals could have popped out was because of previous repairs that left the fork seal retaining ring out. Alaska got some love in this episode and I'm sure she feels different and runs much better. Ride on our friend. Your episodes keep getting better and better.🤙
That view at the access road to the glacier is spectacular! And, walking on the glacier is amazing. I was shocked that the one big crack was only weeks old! Such a wonderful reminder of the miracle of nature. As always, the aerials are beyond totally coolio! And, the salmon dinner looks over the top delish!! I love little Alaska’s makeover! She’s looking fabulous!
I'm always amazed by the adventures Noraly takes. Imagine if you were lucky enough to have her as a teacher?? I seriously hope that someone from National Geographic has taken notice of this lady. She can be an ambassador to the world
1000% agree watching from the Philippines...
Yes indeed! Because she makes friends everywhere she goes as all civilized curious people of planet earth should. We’re all on and here on this little blue dot together in an amazing amazingly expansive universe. Why wouldn’t we?

I have said that before very true

This is so cool what an adventure. Thanks Noraly.
This side trip was awesome! The light is wonderful. The views are stunning.
Yay!! a Friday with Noraly,, great landscapes and friendly Alaskans !!
Really great drone shots of the glacier and your guide was not only informative, but humorous as well. So glad you found Bill and he treated Alaska to complete and detailed inspection and informed you of possible needed repairs. The 39000ks you have put on her have shown that Honda has produced a darn tough lite motorcycle that is easier to handle than most of the big adventure bikes. Stay dry, warm and happy. Super impressed with the glacier visit. So glad you were able to get Alaska serviced by Bill. He is a legend. I am looking forward to the next episodes of your journey North. Safe travels.😊

The Glacier experience was awesome! The guide was very interesting and did a job of explaining parts of the glacier! Drone footage was amazing and it is terrific to see Alaska ready for the last adventures of your fantastic trip! Thank you Bill and Noraly!
That tour of the glacier was stellar.
Thank you Bill for looking after Noraly.
Alaska looks sharp.
Every time i think you cannot amaze me with the next video, you go and surprise me! Thanks so much for bringing me along in your adventure…outstanding youtube content👍👍
Cool guy Bill ! I like the way he quietly comments every detail and explains what needed to be fixed. And spare parts re-used as far as they fit. Good work on Alaska, even the letters on the fork side ! You found the right man.
Noraly, Thank you for being our guide for season 6, I myself have been totally amazed at what I have seen and learned this season.
Another WOW video and thank you Bill and all the other "Bills" who have been helping Itchy Boots on her journey.
Great service from Bill! Alaska starting to show some wear and tear from a long journey but still impressed how she has held up👍.
Another excellent episode! Copper River Salmon is the best in the world if you ask me,and the world needs more Bills.
The Matanuska Glacier was incredible. Sure happy you took us there. Yes, Bill and mechanics like him are the people to see. They seem to take a personal interest in the machinery and I think that is the difference.
Thanks Bill, appreciate you helping out. You are a great persons.
What a great tour guide! He was hilarious! You can tell Bill was a legit mechanic when he showed you the parts he removed! Overall great video!
You know exactly what you're doing, in my opinion. You are making the most out of every opportunity! Keep on exploring, and sharing your adventures. Much enjoyed!
Noraly's curiosity is continually on the hunt even the glaciers. Such a simple glacier tour yet it becomes interesting and informing to us. Bill, the mechanic, cleaned the bike! A sign of someone skilled in his work. Bill's mind works on fixing the issues and his obvious knowledge of bikes enabled him to swap parts from different bikes to solve the problem(s). Attention to detail is his hallmark even diagnosing things most of us would be unaware. Thanks for sharing with your viewers "Alaska"s service rundown. It was a treat. Rubberside down.
BIG thumbs up! Those small "streams" are shockingly deep! Bill went above and beyond to take care of Alaska!
What a gem Noraly is. I look forward to every video she produces. It's unreal but not surprising that her popularity keeps growing and growing.
Once again, you have outdone yourself. This episode was amazing! Learning about the glacier, the drone footage,... and then Bill the master mechanic! So much fun!
I enjoy learning about geography and seeing the absolute beautiful Alaska country.
Bill, being an exmechanic, I really appreciate your thoroughness in taking care of our girl Noraly. To me, you exemplify what it means to be a good mechanic. You did what the customer asked, and while you were doing that, you were looking for other conditions that needed attention, and took care of them. Well done!
somehow you got a lone scam comment (now removed)
Noraly's style of riding took her to far distant places thousands of miles away from her homeland and back. I'm also a rider but has never crossed a country. I envy her and she inspire me. Hurrah! Good job Noraly.
The size and magnitude of the glacier as you explored it on foot and from the drone videos was spectacular, then you find out the the source was 25 miles further! Wow! It gives us viewers more of an appreciation of this magnificent landscape, or should I say "Icescape"🙂
Good morning, I can’t wait to see this one . You are making the best of your time on the way to Anchorage to get repairs . Bill was friendly, amazing and thorough, exactly what you needed in a mechanic
A travelogue like no other. Our girl does it again. Her own style, her own way and as fulfilling as a three course meal. Thank you Noraly.
Funny thing that you've highlighted again and again over the course of your amazing trip, is that good people seem to gravitate toward each other. Hard to explain it, I know it just happens. Your trip has evidenced this phenomenon repeatedly. Another great episode on the Adventures of Itchy Boots! Did that glacier water taste as pure and invigorating as it looked? That's some pretty old H20!
I grew up between the Matanuska and Knik Glaciers. They are really cool but very dangerous. I did many search and rescues out there. It is some great riding on the plains made by the glaciers and sure to get you really good on riding rocky, gravely, sandy terrain and then steep terrain up into the mountains. I loved growing up there. We used to (try to) swim in the 35 degree water in man made small lakes dredged out below the glaciers to make the roads. You would quickly cramp up then go numb and not be able to swim. We tried to see who could swim the furthest, maybe a few yards before having to walk back out since you could barely move. In summer it was light all night. Sometimes it got a little dim but only for a bit then it started getting bright again. You could watch the sun make a circle in the sky-not rise or set, just circle. I hope you got to experience there. As always, take care and be safe.
I have learned there is still plenty of things I don’t know about Alaska and all the other places Noraly has been. It has just been great and amazing to just to tag along in all her adventures.
The ride when she leaves Glacier View where she started and saw the glacier, to head toward Palmer and Anchorage is some of my favorite driving/riding in my life. The twists and turns and up and down mountains near Sheep mountain and King Mountain are fantastic.
The glacier expedition was fascinating, and the drone footage incredible. Thanks so much!
Fabulous drone-work and fascinating insight on the glacier. Awesome episode.
And all hail Bill - you meet so many great people who really do care and go that little bit further with checking and finding solutions, than dealers.
Love your travels. I could never get tired of the mountains in Alaska! The tour at the glacier was fascinating and the geologist- Noraly was loving it. The drone shots were fabulous. Glad you found a good bike mechanic so you can ride more.
The glacier was surreal! What a great episode once again. Bill is what a bike mechanic should be. He is thinking long term for his customers, making sure you don't break down in the middle of nowhere. Which of course sums up Alaska.
Have always wanted to see what it is like getting up close and personal with a glacier. This is the first video that exceeded my expectations. The drone footage and music were perfect. Thanks so much for the effort you put into this amazing presentation.
Thanks for taking me back to Alaska, I climbed Denali 3 times and always loved being up there, even hiking low on the glacier with the ice covered in dirt and trees, blue ice poking out underneath. When you were crossing the Copper river I was hoping you would have Copper river salmon, we eagerly await it every summer as the best salmon there is. I can only imagine you will be visiting some Inuit and Eskimo people, try some of their foods etc.
Bill is definitely a legend. Great guy..Alaska looks ready for more adventure 😀..
What a great experience Noraly to actually walk on and examine the glacier!! A really personable and knowledgeable guide, too. The drone shots over the glacier with that music were fantastic!! I love the way you are able to find such friendly and capable professionals when Alaska needs attention. Love from Tennessee.
We have glacial valleys all over the U.K. from movement millions of years ago that are just beautiful green valleys now so it’s really thrilling to see a real live glacier still on the move! Thank you for sharing all of this Noraly 💕
Every glacier I have seen is gone now.

And wow, your story keeps getting bigger/deeper. I have always wondered what it would be like to explore a glacier. I have about 47 years of riding and loved every mile and now I ride with you and see more. I know what it takes to get where you are at. Itchy boots is the best of youtube.
Bill feels like a rider who is a mechanic too. He cares about making a bike be as good as possible. Thats a true mechanic, love to see the independents!

there is no better tour than when you have a tour guide and yourself. Always a great tour!
Thank you Noraly for taking us on another fascianting tour - this time on Matanuska Glacier. Pretty scary that those "little streams" can be serveral feet deep !
"Dr Bill" and his community of friends really took good care of Alaska . Almost didn't recognize her as she looked brand new !
Sidenote: that copper river salmon looked perfectly cooked !
All episodes are so good, entertaining, well made and informative that I shocks me to see so few thumbs up for them with the number of views they get. I don't know if that makes a difference for Noraly or not, but I think it does since she always asks for "a big thumbs up" at the end of every episode... It takes NO TIME to click on it, so I'd say let's help her out if it makes a difference to her! I love what you do Noraly, I truly do! Cheers from Torrance, CA.
I have always believed in the small private shops. The big car/moto dealers are more focused on business, they do not care much for the people. I usually end up becoming close friends with my mechanics, more like a family doctor, they know your needs and likes. Sometimes even accommodate for your budget. - The tour at the Matanuska Glacier was so otherworldly. I felt we were in another planet completely. The areal takes were so wonderful. Those textures only seen above glaciers are so cool. I can't wait for the next episode!
When the time is right you always get it done to find the right person for the job. That is an amazing character trait of yours and one probebly need this to travel the world succesfully right ?
This is the best channel on UA-cam in the world. Informative and entertaining. Thanks Noraly.
Amazing video! I am facinated with the glacier and your ability to capture what most of us cannot see. Loved the tour guide and his sense of humor! Everything that Noraly shares with us is top notch in my eyes! Love this channel!!!❤❤

That Bill is a good mechanic, You can tell by the way he talks about the work he did on your bike, and the fact that he showed you all the old parts.
Your videos are so amazing!! Look forward everyday to see new parts of this beautiful earth 🤗
Another great episode Norali!!! Your statement at the end about individual mechanics doing a more complete job than dealerships is absolutely correct. They have passion for what they do and see each motorcycle leaving as having their signature on it! The same goes to every other craft.
