We all are glad to see people like you, precise and willing to get the best. You keep the world go round, as someone said already. Noraly was lucky tomeet you face to face.
A lot of fixing to Alaska and you just did a great job. That running noise Noraly heard at the start of the last episode near the cylinder when she wanted to leave, were you able to fix that too? Anyway: Bravo!
Hi Bill. Did you hear of Noraly before? She is such a gem in exploring the world and taking us with her. I really appreciate what you have done for her and getting he safe back on the road. Keep up the good work.
Bill I'm glad you responded. I scolded Noraly for saying what a GREAT job you did on her bike but failed to mention your last name or the shop's name for future travelers to find you. Nice job.
Bill is not just a regular mechanic. He is like a doctor, talking a good care of their patients, doing check up exams. You really can notice he loves to go down to the bone and check it out every hidden part of it. So nice to see Alaska so clean and ready to shine again. ✨
The doctor comparison doesn't really work for me lol (my regular doctor isn't great) But I get your point and yes I agree. Great to see people who really love what they do! :)
Sounds like a you have a great doctor. I haven't found many doctors like that since most I know are all about turning over patients as quick as possible.
And they really shouldn't be. I guess it's hard to justify a seldom-occurrence fix-it event but then again, there is a certain joy in being exactly that: a seldom occurrence. "See? I don't hafta do this ALL the time, but just enough to keep my skills at their best." I mean, in a Real Shop, they have experience with THEIR equipment's parts but may not have much knowledge at cross-brands.

Bill seemed so nice. When you visit a mechanic who has his own shop like Bill does he wants your bike to be as good and safe like he would do for his own daughter! (We need more “Bills”) stay blessed N. 🙏❤️🖖
Bill's not doing it for the money. He's doing it for the love of riding a well cared for mount. Dealerships are only in it for the money. Faster, faster, faster is what they want from employees.
My brother was a master mechanic at a car dealership and eventually had to leave due to no time to do complete work or to check the work. It is always better to find an independent mechanic like Bill who cares and has time to really do the necessary repairs. Always be super grateful to find mechanics like Bill!
good point, I just started using a private master mechanic. He has much more curiosity and diligence about troubleshooting problems than any dealerships I've dealt with.

Noraly is surely getting her geology dream tour here these last couple of episodes with the incredible copper mine tour and the glacial tasting experience. And we, her enthralled followers are getting an incredible education in the process. You continue to impress this 82 year old curmudgeon! 😎
Tourist bureaus the world-over should be linking to these expeditions. I'd LOVE to have lists of her South and Central American stops, and the Mexican ones, too.
Hello Itchy, I worked on a commercial fishing vessel in Alaska. For two days, the wind blew over one hundred knots. It was really rough and we worked hard to stay afloat and alive. Our skipper and our boat were true to the test and all was good. The third day, we had to navigate up into Fredrick sound...Mendenhal glacier had calved hundreds of icebergs into the water. The rough seas the days prior had washed many whole tree trunks from the shore line. Some of them were bobbing straight up and down in the water, called dead heads. We tossed a rope onto a strange shaped iceberg and pulled it close to the ship. We then broke a huge chunk of the blue ice free and used it on board for ice. It was the cleanest tasting ice and the most solid ice I have ever experienced. I just wanted to share that with you. Smiling, George.
*Ok so Chris & Crew, thank you so much for getting Ms Noraly in touch with Bill. Chris the string lasted and did it's job. A huge thanks to Bill for working on and getting the extra's parts that were and are needed for Miss Alaska. Top blokes all round. Bill is the kind of person we all want working on our bikes - competent and caring. Competent enough to see an issue and correct it and caring enough to treat your bike like his own or better still, like a bike ridden by someone he loves. Really enjoyed the glazier.
Well , this episode could easily be described as a study of Glaciers. Thanks to Noraly's guide, one learns about various aspects of the Glacier. Looking back , so many natural wonders came along the ride - from Hot springs and Geysers to frozen lakes and icy slopes , from barren desserts and cacti to lofty mountains with giant trees, just to mention a few. One could write a book having abundance of knowledge. And Bill at Anchorage is definitely amply knowledgeable as far as the bikes are concerned . Did a great job with Alaska. A million viewers thank you Bill.

Noraly, the geologist, must have really had a hay day on the glacier. What an amazing experience! I love your ability to balance and keep the camera steady. So glad you were able to fly the drone to show the enormity of the glacier. Gorgeous! Another great guide too! And all topped off with a gorgeous meal. Alaska does not disappoint! Bill was an amazing mechanic and did a fantastic job rejuvenating Alaska. So glad the Brits recommended him. Great video, once again!
It's nice to know that Bill and people like him still exist. So much bad in the world...let the good SHINE and be noticed. Health & happiness to you Noraly.

You deserve an Academy Award for drone footage!! Your work keeps getting better. It is a total pleasure to follow along. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures.
What a day! You had a really great guide on the glacier. Just getting to hike and spend some time with truly a knowledgeable guide was fantastic. Again, Chris comes to the rescue by recommending Bill. What a great mechanic and so willing to help you! Very rare indeed! Thanks for sharing a wonderful day in Alaska! Ride safe Noraly!
This time you were so lucky to meet an old school mechanic that puts attention to all details, there are no much mechanics like him on these days. Good luck on the rest of your trip
Simply amazing hike/tour on the glacier! A well earned spa-day for Alaska. Bill is the perfect mechanic 🥇, he not only did the work you asked for, but looked out for you by finding the 'little' things that will keep you safe! Well Done! Safe Travels! LET'S GO! 💖🏍🤠
I got hooked in season 4 and went back to catch up from season 1. My husband and our adopted son got hooked too. Love Noraly to bits. She feels like family.
A big thumbs up. Today we got a private tour of a glacier. With an in-depth explanation of all the features we were seeing. A spa treatment with authentic glacial mud. A nibble on a 600 year old ice cube. And even more. Alaska got some well deserved TLC. New shoes, and some experienced parts to replace the worn out ones if stock replacements were not available. Bill went above and beyond to bring Alaska back to the shape 39,000 km can extract. Thanks for all you do to bring us the best.
As I watched Bill pointing out what he did, and what was still needed, I could tell he was someone who was thorough, and pays attention to the details.
This motovlog series really is a treasure and great fun for us now, but also will serve as a unique mark in time! I think people will likely find that it will have amazing value going forward. Things are changing so quickly, we owe you a huge thank you for this amazing document of this moment - from one end of the world to the other. Amazing achievement.
I'm always amazed by the adventures Noraly takes. Imagine if you were lucky enough to have her as a teacher?? I seriously hope that someone from National Geographic has taken notice of this lady. She can be an ambassador to the world
Yes indeed! Because she makes friends everywhere she goes as all civilized curious people of planet earth should. We’re all on and here on this little blue dot together in an amazing amazingly expansive universe. Why wouldn’t we?
Hey itchy boots, I’ve been commenting on your videos for a while and I just wanna say how beautiful the sceneries are, not to mention how amazing the music is! I’m sure everyone here agrees!! Lots of ❤ from Trinidad :D🇹🇹
Bravo! Each episode gets better than the last. How is that possible? As a washed up flat tracker, I started watching because of the bikes. Was quite impressed with your riding skills, then the navigation, Adventure, human interest, history, geology... one more thing after another. Truly an amazing treasure ... interests, personality, communicator, and videographer! Thank You
Noraly’s laugh at the 572 years old joke would melt that glacier. Wonderful tour. Bill is one of the good one’s, the unsung heroes who get people on the road again.
I was lucky enough to spend 20 years working with technicians like Bill. Because of his experiences he knows were to look, wear area's. Dealers don't spend the time because they dont get paid to look for area's of concern, that Bill knows exist on most any off road bikes. That doesn't excuse the fact, that they should tell you it needs attention or maintenance. It sounded like he mentioned the output shaft drive splines have considerable wear on them which is a major repair. The white spark plug shows the bike is running lean and is how modern bikes run due to emission tuning. Reflashed ECU's help this, driveabilty and mileage. The only way your fork seals could have popped out was because of previous repairs that left the fork seal retaining ring out. Alaska got some love in this episode and I'm sure she feels different and runs much better. Ride on our friend. Your episodes keep getting better and better.🤙
Bill...What a guy!!...and yeah, the big dealerships are not to kind to us bikers and that is why I do all my service myself. I'm so happy that you find Bill...one honest person to take care of your bike in a way no dealership ever wont do!! Big thanks to you Noraly!!
Good evening from Sweden, pure joy to watch your channel . I really like the people you meet, more ”Bills” in the world would be needed. Bill for World president. 😊
Like I say , you have Angels watching over you. If the seal wouldn’t have become a problem you would never had met Chris or Bill. Now your bike is getting shaped up and you are the better for it. You have many Angels and God is protecting you. This is Totally Awesome and Love your Videos. 🎉😊❤
Kudos to Bill for his work on Alaska. Thank you so much for taking us along to see the Matanuska Glacier. The scenery on this trip is just beautiful. I am looking forward to the next video. Gods blessing to you for a safe trip going forward.
Never would I have thought that I would actually SEE and Walk (with you) on a Glacier!. Noraly, only YOU have given us up close and personal the many Wonders of our World. What a Hoot!
I like your explanation of the individual mechanic shop vs at the dealership. Those folks at the dealers are good service techs but that's what they are taught to do, be service techs, not mechanics. We are not the same. The passion a mechanic has is different. The little details like him seeing the drag on yourr rear brake mechanism and master cylinder getting cleaned and freed up. Those little things stack up and give a personal touch. The observation of the lean condition, making sure you had personalized fork tube guards, mirrors that will work (even though they are borrowed from another bike)
Those things all stack up and make it feel like a home shop when you are far away from home. A trust is earned in a place like that. Thanks for the great content.
Walking on a glacier, seeing all the blue ice and tasting it-what an experience to share! Again, made my day! Thank you! Bill was a real blessing, took great care of our fav lady rider!
From my experience a good mechanic checks everything, and will triage your bike with things that need doing and things that are getting close to need doing, they will adjust and advise where needed, they have a standard of care for customers and their machine and it feels much more social. A technician on the other hand will just change the parts on a list handed to them by their line manager no more, no less and this makes it feel more like a bank transaction. Thanks Bill you are most definitely the former, Skilled people are a treasure and should not be taken for granted. Ride safe Noraly thanks for posting.
The Glacial tour was very interesting and the guide was very personable . He was informative but not overly science descriptive . I enjoyed that . I had an uncle that was very much like Bill ( your mechanic ) his name was George Phillips and not only thorough like Bill but an absolute genius mechanic . My uncle made a riding mower tractor and push mower long before anyone else thought of them . He hand built and flew a small airplane , an inboard boat and shed full of small model airplanes . His mid 60's Triumph , BSA and Cushman motorcycles were always in his living room . He was my brother's and I's hero ...amazing man . Miss my uncle George everytime we visited him we spent hours listening to his advice on motorcycles and mechanics . PK
I was beginning to think that Noraly was not really meeting and talking with many folks in the US and Canada compared to Central America, despite meeting Ed, of course, and chainsaw George out in the middle of nowhere. But in the last couple of postings we've enjoyed the company of copper-mine-man, and glacier-man, and the rather wonderful bike mechanic Bill. So these meetings and conversations are happening after all. Which is great, as they fill in a lot of background and help Noraly on her way.
Hats off to Bill knows bikes and very good at what he does . You can tell he has a passion for the machine , no part overlooked ,great job. , shops not so much in and out
You know exactly what you're doing, in my opinion. You are making the most out of every opportunity! Keep on exploring, and sharing your adventures. Much enjoyed!
Another great episode with spectacular drone footage ! Bill is the rare breed of craft master that checks everything not just part replacement. People like that are a treasure for the touring rider and always locally legendary ✌️Thanks Bill and family for keeping Alaska trail ready !
Beautiful Noraly. What an awesome privilege to walk on a glacier like that. And to meet such a lovely, knowledgeable guide and mechanic. It's also a privilege to be able to share and see it all thru your eyes. Thanks as always ❤️😊
My partner and I both ride and live in Anchorage. We have used Bill a lot. We love your videos and I think you are correct in the smaller the bike the better. I have ridden from CONUS to Alaska three times and will do another ride in May, 2023. I am almost 70 years old. Keep us the great videos. I have ridden solo but a woman traveling alone is an inspiration for all. of us.
Noraly's curiosity is continually on the hunt even the glaciers. Such a simple glacier tour yet it becomes interesting and informing to us. Bill, the mechanic, cleaned the bike! A sign of someone skilled in his work. Bill's mind works on fixing the issues and his obvious knowledge of bikes enabled him to swap parts from different bikes to solve the problem(s). Attention to detail is his hallmark even diagnosing things most of us would be unaware. Thanks for sharing with your viewers "Alaska"s service rundown. It was a treat. Rubberside down.
Walking on a glacier, what a legend our Noraly is. And although this season is not yet over, the addiction to Itchy Boots is getting to me and "What am I going to do when this is all over??"
@@Dave-sw2dm When Noraly began her Southern African journey I binge-watched all her seasons till I'd caught up, even her 2nd season ill-fated Patagonia to Alaska.
@@teerex1011 , I found her in March 2019 while researching my Himalayan purchase. Been a subscriber since 30,000 subscribers. If there is a break before the next adventure I’ll go back and start over since it has been 3.5 years.
Noraly, I admire you so much! You're not going to be one of those people (well me, actually) who get to their 50s and regret not taking more chances, making wonderful memories and living a life with filled with adventures and a cast of true characters that you've met along your journeys. You could probably pick a continent, a city, a village or a national park and say "Oh yes I've been there! I have a good friend I stay in touch with". That's true riches in life. Living life to the full. And you've done it while being kind, giving, open and courageous. Okay - off my soapbox now! Safe travels.
It's amazing how the bike is holding together so well. How many times it has been started and stopped and ridden on different surfaces but still survived. It's a hell of a bike. Bill did an amazing job on Alaska she is pretty once again and ready for more adventures.
Really great drone shots of the glacier and your guide was not only informative, but humorous as well. So glad you found Bill and he treated Alaska to complete and detailed inspection and informed you of possible needed repairs. The 39000ks you have put on her have shown that Honda has produced a darn tough lite motorcycle that is easier to handle than most of the big adventure bikes. Stay dry, warm and happy. From your East Texas Follower. Bill
Once again Noraly, what a great episode! Last video the Coppermine tour and now the glacier tour. We get to see things in a whole different way as we see them usually in documentaries. That's what makes this series so spectacularly fantastic!
Bill feels like a rider who is a mechanic too. He cares about making a bike be as good as possible. Thats a true mechanic, love to see the independents!
As a honda technician; sometimes its difficult to do everything needed in the timeframe. But, at least in our dealership we strive to check everything and at least let the customer know. Guys like Bill are amazing.
About 6 yrs ago I googled Royal Enfield Himalayan and your video popped up. Series 1 episode 11. Watched all the previous ones to catch up and haven’t missed an episode since. My knowledge has been greatly enlarged because of the things you’ve shown and taught us over your travels. Much appreciated. Ride safe.
You're totally right about mechanics working for themselves in small shops, I've had the same mechanic for the past 30 years who works from a shed behind his house, he always fixes twice as much as I know needs fixing and charges half as much as I expect.
Cool guy Bill ! I like the way he quietly comments every detail and explains what needed to be fixed. And spare parts re-used as far as they fit. Good work on Alaska, even the letters on the fork side ! You found the right man.
I was amazed at how slender and fragile you look in a vest top. You must have super motorcycle skills to do some of the tough riding that has been in the videos.
The Matanuska Glacier was incredible. Sure happy you took us there. Yes, Bill and mechanics like him are the people to see. They seem to take a personal interest in the machinery and I think that is the difference.
The ride when she leaves Glacier View where she started and saw the glacier, to head toward Palmer and Anchorage is some of my favorite driving/riding in my life. The twists and turns and up and down mountains near Sheep mountain and King Mountain are fantastic.
Once again angels watching over Noraly! Thanks Bill for getting Alaska back in shape. Glad to see the hydraulic lines and other cables routed correctly now. Can't believe the dealer where she got the fork seals installed did such shoddy work.
Hey what an awesome trip. Thanks to Bill for fixing Alaska 👍 👍 ....... Nice to see someone that really cares . Was I happy that you made use of your drone. Amazing footage. Ride safe
The Matanuska Valley is famous for it's unique agriculture, with 24/7 hours of daylight during growing season, carrots reaching upwards of 10 pounds & heads of cabbage growing north of 100 pounds, also famous for it's cannabis crops, everything gardened in Matanuska grows supersize, land of the night sun never disappoints.. A garden tour of these edible giants grown in the valley would make for a very interesting episode.
What a wonderful series, the huge copper mine in the last vlog and an interesting exploration of a glacier today, make this so much more than a bike trip. I’m so glad to see you ate some Copper river salmon, they are supposed to be special. Once again Itchyboots finds a special person, Bill.

Safe Travels! LET'S GO! 💖🏍🤠
I got hooked in season 4 and went back to catch up from season 1. My husband and our adopted son got hooked too. Love Noraly to bits. She feels like family.
Alaska has been one hell of a motorcycle for this adventure.
A wonderful video as usual Noraly you show us marvellous places and people on your travels of which Bill is one of those people.
Thanks Bill, appreciate you helping out. You are a great persons.
Noraly wat een mooie belevenis. Maar het mooiste zijn de mensen waar je gewoon op kunt rekenen👍
I'm always amazed by the adventures Noraly takes. Imagine if you were lucky enough to have her as a teacher?? I seriously hope that someone from National Geographic has taken notice of this lady. She can be an ambassador to the world
1000% agree watching from the Philippines...
Yes indeed! Because she makes friends everywhere she goes as all civilized curious people of planet earth should. We’re all on and here on this little blue dot together in an amazing amazingly expansive universe. Why wouldn’t we?
We need the photo book first!! Haha
I have said that before very true
There are many all over the World, we wouldn't know of.
Hey itchy boots, I’ve been commenting on your videos for a while and I just wanna say how beautiful the sceneries are, not to mention how amazing the music is! I’m sure everyone here agrees!! Lots of ❤ from Trinidad :D🇹🇹
I like the music in all of Noraly’s episodes. I especially like the folk-like music in Iceland.
@@breevaldez-kenny1274 I know, right
Agreed! 🇨🇦
I do agree! Greetings from The Netherlands
Totally agree!
Lol! No thanks! I’ll stick with riding and wrenching.
Guys like Bill make the world go round.
Like I say , you have Angels watching over you. If the seal wouldn’t have become a problem you would never had met Chris or Bill. Now your bike is getting shaped up and you are the better for it. You have many Angels and God is protecting you.
This is Totally Awesome and Love your Videos. 🎉😊❤
God's hand is always on noraly ✝️🙏✅❗👍❤
20 de Junio más 8 semanas. Noraly está en Viaje Espacio-Tiempo de casi dos meses. Ya debe de estar en Utrech. Noraly you're the Best! Pura vida!
It was chainsaw Roger.
Every video reflects your spirit of adventure, curiosity and the beauty of the world we share. Thank you being a super enjoyable reflection of spirit.
Good job Bill, Chris, and Michelle for getting 'ALASKA' in tip top shape so Noraly can finish the final miles of her road trip.☘
Hats off to Bill knows bikes and very good at what he does . You can tell he has a passion for the machine , no part overlooked ,great job. , shops not so much in and out
Yay!! a Friday with Noraly,, great landscapes and friendly Alaskans !!
Very true Bill is a dieing breed , need to find a young lad interested in his trade pass on the knowledge
This is so cool what an adventure. Thanks Noraly.
Beautiful Noraly. What an awesome privilege to walk on a glacier like that. And to meet such a lovely, knowledgeable guide and mechanic. It's also a privilege to be able to share and see it all thru your eyes. Thanks as always ❤️😊
It's not just that you're an amazing motorcycle rider, you're also very brave,,,
A travelogue like no other. Our girl does it again. Her own style, her own way and as fulfilling as a three course meal. Thank you Noraly.
That tour of the glacier was stellar.
Thank you Bill for looking after Noraly.
Alaska looks sharp.
The memories, the “experiences!” You’ll never forget them! 🙏🏼
Noraly is an adventurer I am sure she will find somewhere to travel and share her adventures.
Worry not! Noraly will always find a place to explore and she will definitely take all of us along😊😊
Start at the beginning again and enjoy watching her progress in her skills as a rider and creator.
Happy to see Alaska is getting the care and attention it needs. Bill seems a fine mechanic with a beady eye for detail.
Great service from Bill! Alaska starting to show some wear and tear from a long journey but still impressed how she has held up👍.
Bill feels like a rider who is a mechanic too. He cares about making a bike be as good as possible. Thats a true mechanic, love to see the independents!
Spot on!
What a great tour guide! He was hilarious! You can tell Bill was a legit mechanic when he showed you the parts he removed! Overall great video!
I enjoy learning about geography and seeing the absolute beautiful Alaska country.
What a 5 star episode that is, informative with touch of humour...it's your dental plan, had me fits of laughter , keep on biking Noraly.
Don,t forget the 30 pounds Mosquitos, lol
❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦 It’s great when you can find a mechanic who takes pride in their work, another great video Noraly.
This side trip was awesome! The light is wonderful. The views are stunning.
Another WOW video and thank you Bill and all the other "Bills" who have been helping Itchy Boots on her journey.
What a wonderful series, the huge copper mine in the last vlog and an interesting exploration of a glacier today, make this so much more than a bike trip. I’m so glad to see you ate some Copper river salmon, they are supposed to be special. Once again Itchyboots finds a special person, Bill.
Copper River salmon can go for $35 p/lb in Seattle.
