Do we know what is the difference between the GEOID CC600 and the Magene model? They appear to be the same, but the GEOID is significantly less expensive. I'm not sure if there are any advantages to choosing the Magene over the GEOID
It can load routes. I think they need to be a fit file. You can download maps to the unit but you need to set the route via a file or using the phone app!
I have gpx file that i have uploaded for an upcoming event but it seems that the unit doesnt recognize that i have imported such file so i am not able to use the route on my trainer for training purpose am i doing anything wrong?
Riding all year around on and off road, it's important to be able to wipe screen clean. So no touchscreen and big physical buttons. So I will be sticking to my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt
Thanks, good video. Better than anything I was able to get from Magene, to try to set up my brand new C506. For one thing, they never tell you that this can only be done through your frikkin' smartphone! I am NOT a frequent user of my Galaxy smartphone, so I tried to do it on my laptop PC first. I installed the OnelapFit app on BOTH the PC and the smartphone. The smartphone seems to have scanned the QR code on the C506, but I couldn't get anywhere beyond that. I do all my bike route planning on the PC, using Ridewithgps, and created several routes for my current stay on Tenerife (north). That includes exporting the "fit" files, which I hoped to upload to the C506. Now, if this only works through the smartphone, I'm not sure how I'll get those fit files into the C506. Also, someone mentioned that there might be an issue with the C506 connecting via Bluetooth, if there are two devices in the vicinity - the smartphone AND the PC. Would you know anything about that? Thanks for any clues you can offer! Clueless in Tenerife.
Hi I did have trouble with Bluetooth heart-rate and after many emails with support was told to use Ant+ which seemed to sort the issue. I’ve found gpx files seem to work best with OnelapFit but fit files might be ok?
@jarofranta153 another, older, protocol for connecting devices. For example the Garmin Dual hr strap can connect with Bluetooth or Ant+ luckily! I’ve only just realised, after your comments, you can download maps to the C506! I’d thought you could only down load a route!?
@@Forest_velo after a bunch more hours of fiddling around, it turns out that the QR didn't read properly yesterday: After re-doing it (several attempts) the C506 finally works. You were right about the GPX files: fit files will NOT work on Magene. No big deal. Managed to upload a few GPX routes to the C506 via the smartphone. Pretty useless without a map though. Following your hint, I also downloaded the map for Spain & Portugal ("Europe 6" I think they call it), for starters (Long process!!) Next up, finally take it for a test drive !
You can plan a route on the app and send it to the computer to navigate. Which works well… you can’t just have a map on the unit it has to follow a route I believe!
Hi It does support it’s own lights etc but I think it connects to other makes too. It can be used to control a trainer with a fit file. Not sure it works with Final Surge yet. Also don’t know if you can share a route but you can upload them to use on the unit.
Good info. Looks like a great little device. I’m going to stay with my Garmin 1040 with my Varia RTL515 light/radar. In the future, would you kindly talk about increasing cadence and whether or not this builds strength and speed? Grace & Peace
Hi sorry! You can’t have maps stored as such on the unit but you can plan a route on the app and send it to the unit then it will follow route with map etc. if you don’t have a route and are just riding around you need to use the app to then load a route!
Thanks. Great info, thanks for sharing it with us. I'm looking for a new GPS device, but I'm still undecided, as I need something with a long battery life when I'm following a route, as I do GPS-guided MTB ultramarathons.
Thanks! Not sure about ultra races but I have been impressed with the battery life. It seems to still have 80% after a 3 hr ride but haven’t tried it over longer periods, yet!
Absolute own goal when they advertise something that you can't get your hands on .. can't find them anywhere to buy .. zero confidence in this brand if they can't sync marketing and availability .. I'll buy a known brand now ...
The current price of the C506 is £109 GBP. Link in the description!

I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the Geoid?!
If you knew the difference tell us 😊

Thanks for the nice review. I just obtained one and look forward to receiving it. I plan to try this on a motorcycle, as well. All the best.
Hope you enjoy it!
I mainly need a computer to navigate routes i plan on Komoot. Do you think it would be suitable for that?

Can you connect it to coros watch and read the HR from it?
Hi! I’m not sure. Probably if you can get the watch to broadcast hr via Bluetooth? I’ve had trouble trying to get an Apple Watch to do the same.
Can we get a comparison to the 606 🙏🏻 guaranteed sale if so🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi, not by me no! Sorry! I haven’t used a C606 but I think they are pretty similar functionally just smaller?!
Whats the difference between this and c606?
I think mainly it’s just a smaller unit. I’m not sure of the exact specs.
Can you use the ultegra di2 buttons to scroll through the pages?
It connects to the di2 to read the battery charge but I don’t think it can change pages but I could be wrong!

Seems like a great unit. Does it have climb pro type features?
Hi, unfortunately not at the moment!
Can it connect to favero assioma pedal power meters and polar h10 or it only connects to magene sensors?
No it connects fine to other makes. I use Garmin heart rate, and 4iii power meter.
does this device have sms notifications? Is there quick reply?
It has notifications but I don’t think there’s a quick reply!
This thing got no gps like google maps/waze?
Yes it has. You can upload routes via fit files and download maps.

@jarofranta153 Yes, the downloading did take longer than expected! Good luck 🤞 Hope it goes well!
Does the gps lock fast? I have issue with 406 took so long to lock the gps
Yeah it seems pretty quick when in the open. Sometimes when by the house I need to move to more open ground.
How about the navigation map respond?

Can we upload a GPX file over 300km into the Magene C506?
Does it work in navigation mode?
Hi
Yes you can import gpx files or create a route on the phone app and upload to the head unit.
Looks good ..... although age old quandry of getting a computer verses using a phone ... ps. your quadlock link isn't working correctly - thanks
Hi
I think the battery life would be far higher than a phone. I’ll have a look at the link!
varia support? indoor trainer control? links to plans from final surge? route sharing?

Can't understand why they don't support outdoor workouts from training peaks
Maybe an update will fix that?!

Hope you like it? I’ve been enjoying using mine!
