The reason the reel sounds so loud is that it is very close to the microphone which is on my sternum so it's exaggerated somewhat.

Fished Sopley today. Pushing through.
Not a bite although I did manage a video close up of an Otter

I've had a few encounters with otters on the Stour and Avon, and mostly they've been swim killers but not always. I did fish at Sopley three times and although I had fish on the main river I had no bites from the previously productive area on the Mill Stream so a possible explanation could be an otter killing it.
