Dear Father please avoid showing the Holy Spirit as Dove. You are ill treading the Holy Spirit. The scripture says " The Spirit of God came down JUST LIKE DOVE. It gives an image of flying of Dove just like that The Spirit of God came down. It's a nuisance to give the image dove to the Holy Spirit. The scripture says that The Holy Spirit is so Beautiful, other than anything in the Universe. It's So Powerful. It's Wisdom.. Whenever I see art or sculpture The Holy Spirit image as Dove I feel worst. Please change..
Thank you for your comment. I just followed the tradition of presenting the Holy Spirit as a dove, since that is how he descended upon Jesus at his Baptism. The other NT image of the Holy Spirit is tongue of fire.
@@BennyKaruvelil when Jesus was baptized it was nothing to do with Dove, but when The Holy Spirit came down, on Apostles and appeared as The Tongue of Fire, that maybe used as symbolic of The Holy Spirit., that it burns aal Apostles weakness and sin to make them Holy. Matthew 3:11 in Other Translations 11 "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. So the Prophecy is full filled.
The Holy Spirit is neither the dove nor fire. But both are biblical images for the Holy Spirit and nothing more than that, though we can interpret any image in more than one way. So I would prefer to keep an image as an image, that points to another reality and continue to hold on to the tradition of the Church. Thank you
