I work alot in New York City where there is alot more people and alot more traffic. Yet traffic in New York City keeps moving because of three things. 1. Synchronized traffic lights. 2. Police officers in major intersections during rush hour traffic directing traffic. 3. Bus ONLY lanes. If Toronto synchronized the traffic lights, put traffic officers in major intersections during rush hour traffic to direct traffic and had designated bus lanes going in to and out of the city it would help traffic move faster and more people would take the bus knowing it is faster and cheaper to take public transportation to get to and out of the city.

Parked in a bus lane is $1000 fine plus towing fees, plus storage fees. The only cars that can stop in a bus lane are taxis and that's only if they are picking up or dropping off passengers.

I moved from Wuhan, China to Toronto 20 years ago, for 20 years Toronto hasn't built a single subway, and just one Eglinton RT was built for 10 years but still not in use. While the City of Wuhan has built 10 subways, each is about 30 km long, in 10 years, fully operational. The western countries are corrupted, people get over paid but do less work, infrastructures are too expensive to build, that's why the city's infrastructure is crumpling.
It’s mainly because Toronto has Lake Ontario tight along the south part of it from the east to the west which pushes traffic back and forth along the northerly part of the city and directly through the city. In other words, it’s a geographic caused problem for the most part.

Totally useless traffic light system with disturbing accident rates, can be replaced by more practical and less dangerous roundabouts. pedestrians who do not respect the rules and the cake of all the salad the wild cyclists where anarchy is their order, with a blind police that only sees the infractions of the cars.

some on going construction. i do courier. you go down one street one day and can't the next. especially downtown. if its not a the city upgrading gas or water lines. its a building getting a reno on the outside structure, or just new ones popping up everywhere. they are doing it all at once. good way to much us spend more gas.

Only a fool would drive downtown, I live out in the 905 and only drive into the city very rarely and much prefer taking GO Transit and the TTC. Being stuck in traffic sucking down carbon monoxide and listening to lame radio isn't a good use to fime.

Now guess what entire traffic from East of Toronto Carlaw to Macowan entering Downtown core needlessly only to get to the Gardiner.
