The touchpad issue is a known problem where it isn't grounded properly. Dell do have a fix for this so you might be able to get them to repair it again and install the updated trackpad with the grounding strap. I had the same problem and since the trackpad was replaced it's been perfect.
@reddragon27284 Does yours still work properly this far out after replacement? I had mine replaced and it only worked for 2 weeks. Dell wants to replace the parts again, but it feels futile.
You're welcome. If you can afford, it may be better to get an HP - a few hundred quid more expensive, but better build quality, better webcam and touch pad.
Yeah, that trackpad is a bugger. But all the other laptops are either too expensive or have some other flaws. The webcam is atrocious, so I would not use either.
Hi friends, this model (Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7630, 16GB, UHD Graphics) is rank first in my list of selected models, is there any problem with this model which I should be aware of? It would be helpful if anyone can answer my question.
Yes. I still have issues with the track pad - sometimes it's unusable, and often very difficult to use, so a mouse is the only option. Maybe they fixed it in the new version - I don't know. Everything else is fine if you are ok with the atrocious webcam.
There have been some changes, but I don't know when exactly. The webcam is better and CPU's are newer. Hopefully the touchpad is a better model too - I can't say for sure.
Hi Santiago. As long as the specs are sufficient for your applications, the laptop will be good enough. It all comes down to the price. You may want to spend 40% more and get an HP or Dell XPS laptop, which might give you a bit better experience, but not better specs as such. Use your intuition. If it feels good, it is likely to be good.
Hi!! I’m looking for a computer for my mom… she does office work and internet navigation mostly. No big programs and very light games (like sudoku or like older games)… would you think the dell inspiron 16 with i5 or i7 and 16gb ram + 512 gb will be enough ?
A low budget laptop would do, but still, I do not recommend less than 16GB RAM. 2in1 is not that great, unless you specifically know that you need it. A table is also not that great for most people.
Do you have issues of 'usb device not recognized' occurring on a regular basis (i assume you have windows 11)? Tried lots of things via customer support but not fixed yet
I have not had it. But I don't use it enough to have a good take on this. I mainly use my desktop. Is it with various devices? Test them with other computers.
@@timbacchus You can usuallly download that these days, either from the manufacturer or from other people. And if you really need a drive, get a USB external one.
To anyone watching this video, do NOT purchase this computer. The touchpad does not work. Any attempt to replace parts is futile as all parts produced are inherently broken. This needs to be removed from the market. This was an absolute scam by Dell.
Please, if you have connections with Dell, please please do everything you can to advocate AGAINST this computer. It should be recalled from the market and customers who purchased it need to be refunded. Please use your platform as best as you can to try to make progress against this company. I am appalled at the product as I have started having MORE issues (speaker and screen) and even more appalled at their “customer service.”

Oh, that's cool. I am out of warranty now, so I won't bother, but good to know.
@@KamilsTechTips Dell are pretty good at covering “known issues” out of warranty. Couldn’t hurt to ask.
I see. Ok, let me check. Big thanks.

im about to buy one, the 7620 with 6Gb graphic card. Thanks for your review :)

The trackpad is definitely the main issue of this laptop. I had one and really couldn’t get passed that flaw. Also my webcam somehow stopped working.

We use a track ball USB
I have a 2011 model, and I can confirm it's been going on since then. I upgraded to this one and just laughed when it started happening again.

Has the model changed in the last 7 months or is it still similar

Hi, im a data scientist. I found a Dell Inspiron 16 40GB Ram, I7-12700H, 1TB SSD in a good price. Would you recommend it?

Does anyone know if the Inspiron 14 plus also has track pad issues?

More than enough. 16GB or RAM is perfect for most jobs with a room to spare, and 0.5 TB storage space it plenty for casual use for years to come.
If she only does that you might consider a lower budget laptop, or even a tablet/2in1

dell inspiron 16, 16 2-1 or 16 plus?
2 in 1 is not really that great, unless you think that you really need it. It is more of a gimmick. Cool, but not that useful in the end.
@@KamilsTechTips Thank you!
Do you find any problems with not having a CD/DVD player?
I have not needed one for over 5 years. I have not noticed missing it even once.

Hey. I am slightly leaning that way too. However, alternatives are much more expensive, so I just use a mouse with it.

Hey. Sorry to hear that. I do not have any connections with Dell. But I will take this into consideration when making more videos about Dell laptops.
Thank you. I appreciate that much.
I agree. An absolute shit keyboard! Worst I've EVER seen! Disgrace!
Is the fan making a lot of noise?
At times. It does not bother me, but I can see how someone might not like it.
