thanks for the review jacek - looks like this one might be easier to hold because of the form factor - it would have been great if they could have made the screen bigger
Agreed. The RG405M had the analog on top to compliment the T618 chipset which targets 3D retro systems. That includes 2x res PSP plus some GameCube and PS2 with frameskip. The R36H is a different animal with it's lowly RK3326 proc. It plays some early 3D systems (as Jacek showcases) but they're a bonus requiring frameskip, fps cheat, and/or performance built emu. PS1 is a notable exception but those games play just fine with the D-pad (except Ape Escape and FPS genre). So the RK3326 punches above is weight nowadays with all the software improvements. But it was originally limited to 2D systems plus PS1. So the D-pad really should be on top in this case.
@@wingsfromheaven8788 Yea love my r36s's but really wish were horizontal. Did get a ANBERNIC RG40XX H from the wife love it just wish the case were translucent blue lol. Do miss ark OS for it need to look into best os to put on her.
@@kirkanos3968I have the RG35XX-H and RG40XX-H as well. I recommend Knulli on those. I ported ES NES BOX theme over from ArkOS (R36S), to include overwriting the Megadrive theme folder with the Genesis theme folder to make it all look exactly like ES on the R36S. I thought I would miss the 32-bit core for N64 avaliable in ArkOS, since that's required for some titles, but apparently not needed with the added processing power of the H700 chipset in the RGxx-H series.
Down side to this one is it’s a clone of the 35xxH that is low cost anyway. The r36s was a clone of an Anbernic that was a lot more expensive at the time. Don’t get me wrong I have 2 r36s great value.
H can do a lot more too (hdmi out / bluetooth / wifi 5) with much better custom OS support. Unless this is on a sale like r36s ($18) it probably can't compete - and there is A30 at that price point too with much more interesting design.
Yes, it's all price. This R36H becomes attractive around $25 or less. The RG35XX-H has much better build quality, stronger processor and is really the better choice, particularly when it drops below $40.
@kamiljakubiec472 Golden Eye is not playable on the R36S/H due to severe showdown on all available N64 emulators. This chipset can play about 70% of the N64 library otherwise.

Does powkiddy Q90 has sonic adventure and sonic adventure 2? the console button is also a dreamcast
My old hands like the horizontal's better but dam that D-pad is just way too low for me.

still different i have the rg35xxh and the buttons are different and of course the performance is better on the rg35xxh
@colbecks39 as I've said, give them maybe 2 months and the price will go down as we've had the same situation with r36s before 😉

Thanks for the review. Can it take a 256GB card?
256gb should be fine as r36s
Is it blue tooth to Sony controllers?
I have RGXX35 H anbernic I happy with this device I play 2.years RG35xxx h
Rg35xxh is on the market from 5th of January 2024 😅 you cannot play 2 years , anyway, it is a great handheld
