- In this video I test the K2 Plus and Kobra 3 for their multi color printing and see which one will do it better, with Deeplee's filaments.

I really would like to have known you would make a video like this so you test the multimaterial capabilities of these printers. The x1c and k2 plus are labeled as multimaterials but I dont think they are truly. Creality did update some profile settings and color specs as people dont know how to use the multiplier and purge settings when printing.
I print PETG, ASA, TPU. no pla.
Yes these can print with multiple materials but not flexible filament, though.
@@Scratch3DPrinting I am aware, I print tpu quite often. I will test this someday
I wish the 3D printing industry would come together and make a standard spool size. This could include outside and center diameters and spool widths.
And, as more systems are being built with RFID tags, a standard coding protocol would also be very useful.
Yeah that would make life 3d printing so much easier. But each brand wants their spool to be the standard.
@@Scratch3DPrinting that and, they want the buyer to buy their filaments because they integrate with the system
I found that carboard rolls (Non-creality) causes the cfs to have retracting issues, not super happy when a 26 hour print takes 40 due to this shit. I had to super glue that rubber nozzle wipe. I've noticed Creality has been playing around with the profiles, temps are obvious but lately the stringing is REALLY bad - Gotta heat gun the shiet out of stuff.
Yep! I think for my Goku print, I have to change or fix the cardboard roll like 30 times or even more.
Hi Scratch.... Can you please link the filament spool Adapter Ring... Greatings from Germany... Mirco
Hi, I could not find it online, it was pre-slice on the k2 plus, you can print directly from the 3d printer its self.
No issues with the Kobra 3 filament system? The K2+ CFS seems to have a lot of problems.
Yeah i have not have major problem with the ACE pro, but with the CFS it has problems like i explained in the video.
I drop the flush volumes down to 0.9 and still have no problems with color bleeding. Saves on some of the waste
Ahh, I'll test that out and see how it goes.
once you get high up the Z on a printer with no enclosure i suspect temperature differences and other mechanical play start becomming a factor and you can never really stack layers perfectly ontop of each other. THe printer does this blind relying on perfect mechanics. It could be overcome with closed loop feedback system to check the position in space and compare it to motor steps ensuring its in the right spot everytime. But as you can see its good enough, and better printers with better mechanics are even better, but you wouldnt have to rely on that perfectness if you could have feedback while you print to adjust. Amazing as high tech as these printers are, none of them use a closed loop feedback, except magneto X , because its linear motors have that feature built it, they cant work without it. You could in theory ad this feature to stepper based printers tho and stack those Z lines perfectly.
Ahh, that makes alot of sense, yeah as it gets higher temperatures is different and it might also not be as stable. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the comparison. Hard pass on creality due to so much multicolor waste. Its the same for all the 3d printers that use a very long nozzle. I think prusa uses a long nozzle too. Kobra 3 print quality isn't good either.
I hope you get to test out more multicolor 3d printers like the anycubic s1 and the flashfoge ad5x.
Thanks, I do really want to get my hand on more multi color 3d printers and make comparisons videos like this.
i got my bambu lab a1 and i love it
That's amazing.
@Scratch3DPrinting thank
