Nice
TY
If you ever come to Georgia I'll buy you a beer just from all I've learned watching your videos. I don't drink anymore but will certainly buy yours. With a lot of work to do around my house I bought a mixer and, thanks to your great instructions, believe I can make it work.
Sounds good
TY
I would love to spend a month working with you guys. I grew up helping my uncles and doing odd jobs in construction, but after college, I've only worked in an office. I miss working with a crew doing honest work and building quality structures. I appreciate your videos.
TY
Lol love the wife's reaction when she asks what I'm watching now. I replied "the concrete guy." She asked who? I said "this guy." She shook her head and walked away. Haha I do learn stuff but I have no practical use for it. So it's just stored knowledge. But I appreciate how you do your videos and keep em coming.
it's like sports same deal
You're craftsmanship is 2nd to none! Outstanding! I enjoy your videos. God gave you and your crew a wonderful gift and I hope you continue to document videos for yourself and us fans. Thank you for your time and may God bless you all for the hardwork and dedication you give forth.
we try

A wonderful job there is actually a great deal of self-esteem, practice and professionalism well done Mr.Odell l loved what you say.... leap of faith ....yes there are faith

Nice work once again. My background is in remodeling and painting. I have dabble a little with concrete. Seeing ur videos for the past few months is encouraging and helping me for a 30x16 patio. I'll keep painting and wait for part 4. Thanks
Right on
There are all kinds of mud mixes, when you find one you like ask the Forman or the batch guy the exact mix "recipe" so you can order it again they will work with you. Working concert is a miserable Back breaking job thank god there are guys like you to do it. Good video thanks for sharing.
Your right I need to find a mix design I like with every batch plant.
They will do anything for money 😉😉
Beautiful work. Truly talented.
TY
@ 6:10min great tip about the cracks. It's not about the spacing, figure it out where it would crack.
I really like the work on the tight spot, it came out really nice.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your videos man! I know absolutely nothing about this stuff but you've had me hooked for months now!
If you get bored you should do a video series critiquing other concrete jobs on UA-cam! I've watched other videos and a lot of the comments point out the issues or flaws in the pour or finish. Everyone on your videos says you do a great job! Would love to hear your opinion on some others out there!
Keep it up bud!
A lot of people that do videos on You Tube, don't do it for a living, they do it for the video.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete that's a good point. Still would like to get your feed back though :) thanks for replying bud!
I’m a commercial concrete finisher in NY and you should grab a thin concrete finishing broom for the walk face and a brush for curb face. Much better in my opinion and keep the bristles wet, it will cut the concrete instead of pulling it and giving it the aggressive look you said you had. But nice work..I wish I could work with you and your crew
TY
me too
I just love seeing the cleanness of the concrete and love the used brick. makes me wish could afford to do more!
me too
ty
Man. Ur crew is cool. Having a bad day but these helps me learn. More knowledge to my brain cells. Keep it grinding. Thanks
YW
Nice finish work. Good crew that you put together.
TY
I waited so long to be the 100.000 sub, but i finally got it. Congrats to David for this archivment.
ty
Yall know how to pour mud ,great job man and those radius's were smooth too !
Thanks 👍
Nicely done. Always enjoy your videos
TY
So you don’t need any hardcore?
I assume the ground is already hard enough so you don’t have to do anything.
You did a beautiful job, thank you for sharing.🥀
Southern California.
TY
i didn't see how the crack that you introduced while it was wet, reemerged? automatically or you reran the tool same place you did earlier?
This job is the reason I subscribed! Perfect for helping figure out what to use to form the soft radius curves. Plus what to do if forms spread out, Thank You.
YW
Love the intro!
They are definitely improving 👌👍
TY
After all the prep, we finally get to see it poured!
OSS
Respect for the concrete men✊
Thx for explaining
YW
Always enjoy your work and your description of how to go about it
TY
Really beautiful work! Sorry for the noob question, but why is brooming important? What is it's purpose?
Traction for walking, slip resistance
Thanks!
Try lap siding (16’ pieces) for those wider radius’s and or space your stakes closer together to reduce the bowing in between stakes....I pour A curbs all day in Az
I'm pouring in AZ.
Wednesday and Thursday
Really what part of Az? Big pour?
Love the slow mo leap.
TY
Excellent work, nice design,I would like to see the landscaping part.
Me too
TY
Why would you not use the same concrete company all the time? I suppose if your not working in the same area all the time then that would answer my question. But I assumed you work in the same areas normally? Nice video and great work.
For some reason I was unable to get concrete when I wanted it, so I ordered it somewhere else.
Your videos never disappoint. congrats on the 100k, you deserve it. I have actually learned a lot from you.
Great
get it on
Hi David. Did you use any fiber mesh in this concrete and if you did, which type did you use? I've heard there are many different ones available like metal, glass, etc. Maybe you could explain the key differences and which one you primarily prefer in some of your future videos.
It was all rebar
Yes I did add fiber mesh to the truck load, I forgot to mention that in the video.
really nice job.
Good Work
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks amazing! How long did you wait to put your forms on the little walls
1.5 hrs
That looks amazing. You are a real professional
TY
شكرا لك . اعمالكم جميله وتبذلون جهدا كبيرا لذلك
A detailed project such as this is as expensive as a new house floor or more! Great finish. ....13
Yes
Its a little tricky
I am doing something very similar in my backyard with a curb, but pouring a concrete patio up to the curb. Do I need to do two separate pours for this? Pour the curb one day and the patio another day?
Pour it all at once, or separate
Dave, how long did you wait before pulling the forms in that 8 inch curb in this one?
I’m pouring a small retaining wall tomorrow that is to be the “box” for a garden bed.
46.5’ long x 5’ x 20” high with a 6” wall thickness. 2 yards ish. Noticed you were able to take the form off early enough to butter up the faces. I’d like to do the same.
Modeled my form after your monolithic pour retaining wall garden bed vid from about 2 years ago -the one with the cantilevered edge. I didn’t do the edge though. But other than that, one 2x12 form on bottom, one 2x10 on top with a little room for mushrooming at the bottom.
Every situation and dry times are different, its all about feel.
Love the way you warped the film! Very informative! Way to go,
TY
You don’t have to but down 3/4 gravel before you pour the concrete?
Not in Southern CA
Great work. Some people are telling me that you should put down 50/50 and compact, not just compact the dirt.
What's your thoughts on that?
Big fan of your videos.
For patios and walkways.
Depends where you are, and soil conditions
The concrete truck guy got a Smith & Wesson hat with a Corona Tee. Hell yeah
Studly
@@OdellCompleteConcrete I use to set tiltwall for a living as a rigger, ever messed with any of that? Never done concrete work, loving the videos keep up the good work!
On the curved retaining wall you poured out by the driveway, what material and thickness did you use for the walls?
Concrete
8 x 18"
Digging the preview and music adds a nice touch👌👌
TY
Whats the song intro david?
A question...is it not necessary to leave an expansion joint against the house?
no
Nice looking job, really looks great 👍
TY
Beautiful work!
TY
Great Crete work guys
TY
can't wait to see no 4....awesome as always
Artificial grass
So do the guys that come help with the orange shirts your employees or just a helping hand. If they are a helping hand is the job worth the money after paying them?
Yes its always worth it when you get a video
Absolutely gorgeous, thanks for sharing.
TY
Maybe I’m just really into detail but I would of done the finish work a little different both forms and concrete... You seem like somebody who has a lot of knowledge about everything. People who teach others are good people. Nice video. Good work.
TY, I do my best
How long did you wait before removing the formwork from the curb?? Didn't expect the concrete to harden that fast.
It was about 2 hours
Great job
How many passes will you make before you put the brush finish on it and what order do you youes different type of trowels thanks mark big fan from ireland
BUllfloat twice, Fresno or funn trowel twice, hand trowel once or twice, broom it
Pouring concrete like a surgeon in your scrubs ....perfect
TY
Surprised you did not put some color in the retaining walls/curbs. Some red in the side walks cut to look like pavers would complement the house. Of course, I am not paying for the job and that skews my observations toward expensive options. I think the overall design is great and I am interested in seeing how the owners finish the job up.
Can always stain and seal
thats a nice design an execution.
TY
Odell's paving his way to 100K
Bingo
why does the concrete mix vary so much from supplier to supplier...do they all use different sand and gravel suppliers which can vary a lot depending which quarry it comes from...had trouble finding part 4 as it has a different title from 1...2...and 3
yes different sands rocks cements
Hi David, we poured some walls but the used motor oil from the forms seems to have soaked into the concrete walls, what would you do to clean that off?
pressure wash
Great video, but why no joints on the 8inch curb?
Saw cut
1:55 is it yet economical to use basalt instead of rebar?
I'm waiting on a supplier, It may be me
Do you guys have to pull permits on projects like these?
Jose Felix no need
When brooming against the house it always a good idea to swipe the broom side to side so you don’t leave blank spots up against the house. Great job on the finish though
Yes that works.
TY
How long do you have to wait to broom it?
Im guessing this will vary depending on the job (sunlight, thickness, etc.)
Is there a consistency you are looking for in the concrete?
Great videos btw.
Yes I believe you answered your question
Hahaha....shouts in the distance
( FUCKING BROOOOM IT)))
(Envy) The finesse that only comes with experience!
I concur TY
How much was that job and how many days did it took? Looked like it took quite the amount of work.
A lot of work.
8 or 9 days
great team of lads.
They get it on
Just curious, did this project use expansion join or is it not really needed?
Expansion against block wall on side yard
What did you use to form up the curve?? We use flex board for carpenters and can never get such clean curves
Masonite
Great work yet again mate!
What is the make of the concrete cutting tool you have?
Is it called a concrete cutter? I could use one of those but can’t find anything like it online.
California groover
I use a16 nail to twist my wire tight
That's works
Looking good bud.. keep up the good work.....
Sure
TY
Good.... I love these works....

I've been running through your videos to see if you have any showing how to use a power trowel/float. If you have one, can you send me the link please?

Nice, like the music.

Beautiful job!
TY
No expansion joints around the house or in the lines?
NO need
Man great job!! How many yards was the total pour?

@@OdellCompleteConcrete wow it looked like a lot more. great job I will admit.

Good job Sir.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗
ty
What kinf of material was that? That you used tobmake the radius?
Masonite
What is the concrete mix being used for the small curved walls?
3000 psi rock sand and cement
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks very much, love your work.
Nice work 👍
ty
Very enjoyable
ty
I was waiting for this. Cherry 🍒
I concur
Looks great!
TY
Why no expansion gasket/material where the concrete meets the house, aren't you worried if the house foundation cracks, it'll telegraph through the concrete, and vice versa...
No problem, the concrete is not connected to each other
I agree. That won't work up here in the "Rust Belt". You need that expansion joint.
@@danielsmith6563
Seen it happen on my neighbors house, the crack from the house Telegraphed right into the driveway.
Paving your way to 100k subs, well done man.
TY
That leap of faith is a safety hazard. Remember, safety first when at work. Not worth getting injured. #justsaying
Good video.
