This is awesome,,,this is what we do, sing, have a few beers or whatever beverages your consumption holds and have fun and enjoy each other's company and let it rip...👍👍🥃
And that is the great Johnnie Neel Rockin’ in his seat !! I used to go see Johnnie at a little bars in Delaware and Maryland when I was underage at 15 yo. (44 yrs ago)Lol. His work with the Allman bros is legendary.
I just want to tell you, that in 1971 when this song came, my dad started a new job 8n Montana and we stayed in Mississippi for a couple of months to finish the school year. When we got to Montana my dad would aways hug on mom. They were so happy to be together again. I'm planning to add it to the Spotify list we're going to play at their 70th anniversary in July. Thanks for writing and singing this song. It's definitely one of my all time favorites. God bless!!
Reading Bobby Keys autobiography right now - how amazing to be able to see D&B on the internets! One click and I'm back in 1969 watching D&B on "Beat Club". Best wishes and thanks for all the great music.
Sitting around the ranch with Bekka was one of the most amazing blessings I have ever received. These people are real and they are genuine. It has been one of my greatest life privileges to call her my friend.
So cool❤❤❤ I will always call Delaney and Bonnie (and friends) as my favorite band. Only You Know & I Know , and Groupie are just great songs. Where would people like Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Dave Mason), and more ever come together??? ❤❤❤ What a supergroup!!!
its awsome !Im the only thirty two year old in cookeville tennessee with three delanney &bonnie aulbms and ware them out!I love bonnie voice!she is my music couger! I met Johnny Neel few years back and we blaze one togeather bad ass dude
I had the privilege of meeting and hanging out with Delaney in the mid-late 90's. I met him through Tom Donnelly, I also met Bekka several times, never Bonnie though. He actually sat in with us a couple of times.
This song has been part of my "set list" for some time.....and it is absolutely my favorite song to draw people in and get them to sing along......so needless to say it is a PERFECT song to do in the back yard.....and to see Bonnie still looking and sounding great just warms my heart. THANK you for posting this......I will be playing it with some friends at my gig tomorrow night.....inspired by this back yard version !!
Inspiration by Bud Light. This had all the ambience of those hymn sings we used to have around the campfire at church camp, but the only beer consumed was Hires Root Beer. The spirit was the same, though.
You should be!!! Very few artist, sound good, live!!! Let alone at a backyard B.B.Q. This is one of my all time favorites. And to know that they can nail it outside the studio, makes it that much more special.
I've covered this song in several different bands, and I still Love it. I learned it the very day I first heard D&B do it. Some songs just grab you, and this is one that sure grabbed me.
when i lived in MACON, in the mid to late 70s, ERIC CLAPTON, played in ATLANTA,.......and BONNIE sat in with him!!! the next day, a SUNDAY, was MISS BONNIE'S B-DAY & there was always music bein played in CENTRAL CITY PARK, well BONNIE GOT up to sang with GRINDERSWITCH, and lo & behold, ERIC shows up and lord, if i didn't know better, you would have thought, the lord's chior, had showed up, and we had a almost, HOLY GHOST, REVIVAL*****
Thank You Thank You Thank You Ive searched so often for new videos of Bonnie and/or Delaney and Bonnie on UA-cam. Ive never lost track of her music --since this very song, in the early 70's . Another wonderful person, Ive had the pleasure of living in the same time frame with, and enjoyed as the background music, of my life. xoxo
This looks like the most fun backyard BBQ I've seen in years, and such great singing and music. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to your film... is it finished and out?
BEKKA used kidnap me off the strip ( she just had to invite, she always included me&my companions )and we would go home with her and into the studio at Delaney Ranch and listen to music and sing for hours.
