I should be able to get Part 2 out pretty quickly. I have a lot of footage from the launch from different cameras so it will take me a few days to put it all together. Three Cheers for Rover Navy!
I was there, but I can't resit to keep clicking the refresh icon to see it again from different angles. Alan, I can imagine the amount of video editing you still need to do.
“Last night, with all the spare time I had”… lol. What a sprint to the finish. I’m sure it’s been boat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well done Alan! She looks great. Looking forward to seeing her sail. Cheers
You've worked so diligently to make your dream possible, I'm sure under some stress. It really is an inspiration. Mrs Rover has also been magnificent in her partnership with you on this project. I've donated a Rover coin in recognition. I have no expectation to receive a coin as they may be sold out. I wish you fair winds on your adventure! If your journey takes you to Sydney Australia you have a place to stay and a nice meal ready.
What a remarkable last week ahead of the launch...the shot of her sitting on the trailer free of the scaffolding took my breath away with her wonderful stance. It is true the form follows function and Wave Rover does it beautifully. Can't believe that you were able to film during those last hectic days...thanks for taking us along.
She looks beautiful. You, Mrs. Rover and all your great friends that helped out, should be very proud of the excellent build you have accomplished. Hey, you know that every boating adventure is not complete unless MURPHY'S LAW makes an appearance. Thanks for the video.
Meant to mention last video about the Tohatsu motor. I have had the UL shaft for 4 years. The one flaw is the openings for the shift linkages and oil drain under the bottom cowling allow water to get inside. When it's rough like leaving or entering an inlet I've had it cut off due to water getting into the cylinder. Always at the worst time. It has always restarted but sometimes it takes several hours. I contacted Tohatsu and they offered no help... that's just the way the design is and it isn't designed for those conditions.
I must admit there was a moment a few months ago when my wife and I thought there was no way you’d be finished in time… We apologise for not having faith! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Great work, Alan. We’ve loved following the journey and excited to see you get going
I had to have a little laugh when you said the bottom paint is toxic, Mrs Rover will be doing it. :) Really looking forward to seeing the video of the splash, I am sure it was a very special moment.
She's an absolute beauty. I have greatly enjoyed the cast of characters that have contributed to this outstanding achievement. Can't wait to see the launch and follow along with your voyages. Cheers, Alan!
Get her wet!🤣 You're going to be so happy. Congratulations. I know it's been a lot of work, and enough money for Mrs. Rover to kick you out, but a lot of people are impressed with what you have done.
Well done Alan! She looks so impressive and everything is so attentively done. You, Mrs Rover and your friends are truly exceptional people. I can't wait for the next installment and to see that impressive mast stepped. Ardderchog!
Very Happy for you Alan! Your attitude, persistence and determination is far beyond conventional and thus extremely unique! Admirable job management, building a sail vessel is building life, it is Big and Deep 👍👋🙏. Greetings from Finland, Janne (Mr.) Be Blessed as you go.
Around the 9:00 mark my thought was, "He really built a boat". I always knew he would, but at that moment it was crystal clear to me. Congratulations Alan!
Amazing wonderful i still can't believe you did it on time. What a hectic 2 weeks it must have been with the whole team. Congratulations to the whole team!! I can’t wait to see episode 2. Greetz from Belgium
I called the Charlottetown Yacht Club yesterday and they said you were lowering Wave Rover II into the water at that time and indicated you'd be underway in an hour or so. I'm betting you're on the ocean as I watch this video. Best of luck Alan!
Really beautiful Alan. Thank you so much for sharing your build. I’m looking forward to your adventure! Cheers from Manhattan Beach, California USA. ⛵️
would like some video and description of the windvane before wr goes in the water when it can be seen clearly. also, do you have more on shaping the mast? your freehand skills are impressive craftsmanship!
Whether it's the icing on the cake or the application of antifouling marine paint---the message is the same. . . it's that something extra that makes a good thing even better. Congratulations, Alan, to you, your wife Glenda, and your cohort of skilled and dedicated friends. Cheers! Darryl
Typical, you plan for all eventualities and then get a blow out under a heavy load. It will be interesting to see how you fixed it and I'm looking forward to seeing the footage of the launch and getting the first look at Wave Rover II in the water.
If I were an artist, I would do a painting called "Launch Day." In it, I would have a boat on a trailer just leaving the shop. Jogging behind it would be a worker with a small bucket of paint who would be putting the very last paint on the hull.
About 50 years ago I purchased a small wooden schooner in Tryon. My brother in law borrowed a boom truck and an old boat trailer. On the way back to the Charlottetown Yacht Club, a bearing cooked on the trailer at Strathgarteney . So we went to a small garage near by and checked over their stock of old bearings. We got one that would fit inside the hub. When I tried to slide it onto the spindle, it would not go. In my frustration I whacked the spindle with a pair of vise grips, and it left a mark. So I started to clamp the vice grips into the spindle and would spin it around, it would remove metal. Eventually I was able to coax the bearing on to the spindle. We got it back together and finished the trip to CYC. Red neck engineering at its finest. Good Luck with all your adventures,,,,,,
Alan quite a accomplishment! Fair Winds for your launch. I might have missed it but did you just shape the mast and coat with S1 as opposed to also adding a layer of fiberglass then S1. If you haven’t, could you give a quick synopsis of how you constructed the mast? I am building a Layden Paradox Microcruiser and will start on my mast in the coming month.
Looks great don’t, worry about launching, everything looks really well ,couple off days won’t matter, from my perspective, but I don’t have your logistics, we’ll done in my opinion 😊
Alan, I love your videos, and your ideas, and your adventures. I came from a very Nazi country, China, and I wanted to get out of here. For the past few months, I've been thinking about building a 5 - to 6-meter sailboat and sailing it from the southeast coast of China across the Taiwan Strait, into the Pacific Ocean, and then sailing to the Mariana Islands, well, maybe to Guam, maybe even crazier, across the Pacific, to the North American mainland. I had several ideas for sailing boats. If you're interested, I might be able to get some advice from you.

Spoiler alert! 😂 The flat tire was a Rover message to Crack off! Looking forward to seeing her afloat. Must be a relief. Cheers!
Talk about a cliffhanger, thought I was going to see WR II get wet, can't wait for part II and the launch!
I was there, but I can't resit to keep clicking the refresh icon to see it again from different angles.
Alan, I can imagine the amount of video editing you still need to do.
Mrs Rover deserves a medal !
Rover Navy will give here a special medal for Going above and beyond the call of duty!
“Last night, with all the spare time I had”… lol. What a sprint to the finish. I’m sure it’s been boat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well done Alan! She looks great. Looking forward to seeing her sail. Cheers
Glad you caught that, it was a bit tongue in cheek.
@@RoversAdventure yeah I’m sure it’s had a Mission Impossible soundtrack behind it. 🙂

It wasn't easy to remember to pick up the camera every now and then. A lot was missed in the mayhem.
I know absolutely nothing about sailing but this is addictive to watch. Can't wait to see it out on the ocean. Amazing work.
Glad you enjoy it!

Three cheers for Rover Navy
The sideway stability of the solar panel support seems under dimensioned.
Happy travels!
I'll keep an eye on it

Wow, what a difference the bottom paint makes to the appearance. Well done Mrs Rover! Boat is looking good.
That's when I knew we were going to make it.
You, Ms Rover and caring friends have done an amazing job.
I'm very fortunate to have such a team.
It's a work of art, beautiful. Robust yet elegant. Wonderful to see it's completion.
The lines of wave rover look fantastic. What a treasure. I'm really excited for you. Glad you shared this story with us. 😊
Thanks so much!

Best episode, don’t know how you made that as well,so good,as what you accomplished in 7 days, legend !
This is the first time I’ve ever been waiting for a new video from someone. Congrats. I’ll watch it later!
I can only imagine how excited and happy you must feel. Can't wait for the launching. She looks beautiful.

I’ve been following this build each week from day one, now we are so close to see the finale. Big cheers from Sweden! 🎉

She looks fantastic that red white n blue looks so crisp👌🏻 cant wait for the launch video🎉✊🏻🏴
Great job getting her finished up and good luck completing the trip to the launch site. I hope no other gremlins crop up and delay you! 😎
Thanks 👍
It’s so exciting! I have watched your series since the beginning.
Congrats on getting Wave Rover II out of your yard and onto the road! Looking forward to the splash!
Great job!!!
I loved the mast!!! Wooden mast are great. Very quiet. Aluminum mast are great, but noisy as a bell.
Totally agree!
I love the locking mechanism for the Mark III.
Looking gorgeous and much bigger than 6-50. You must be very proud
Yes, thank you
Wow! Wave Rover is looking really sharp! Mrs. Rover is one hell of a painter, she can paint my boat any day!
She says she has had enough boat building for a while.
She looks fantastic! Can't wait to see her afloat.
Well done Mister!
So cool getting to watch this process!! Good luck on the journey Uncle Alan!!
Thanks so much Rachel!
Great job suggest outboard with generator for the batteries on those sunless days
That lady seems very enthusiastic to get you on your way
lol
She's beautiful. Well done to you and your crew!
love the 'cool shape' at the bottom of the mast, seems obvious now but a first for me!

No. I have about a week of loading/testing her before I will depart. More on that Wednesday/Thursday.

I've got a good feeling about this boat.... she looks awesome I reckon....
Great job!
Hey, Alan!
Now you already painted the hull in the colors of Schleswig-Holstein/Germany.
Just pretty! 😉👍
I'll be looking that up, thanks
❤ awesome Alan!
I love those bilge (twin) keeled vessels! I had one, and I want another! Keep on keeping on, my wind burning friend!🙏❤️
Good progress!

I've always been fortunate, as you know, with having the best friends!
Congratulations Alan (and team) what an amazing feat of logistics and project management…
Thanks. Organization was key to our success for sure.
Super excited to see part 2!
It's epic! There will be drones, cannons and a Bishop.
She is looking real pretty. Good luck with the launch. 👍
So close yet so far… I can’t wait to see Wavy Rover II in the water with the mast up 👍
So close!
wow - looks awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!

Just love pulling the masking tape off after anti fouling the hull :-)
Very satisfying!

U got this Wave Rover Navy.
I was your 1,000th like for this video! So satisfying. Now quit reading the comments because it's time to Crack on!
Looking good, can't wait to see her sailing!
Very soon!
Need to always check tire pressures on your trailer, it's a common thing to miss.
Let me know when I can pick her up looks like you built her just like I wanted 🤙⛵️🤪😜🇺🇸🌊🤞

I can't wait to see how she fares on the shakedown!

Trailer wheel bearings 😂 don’t you just love em. Argghh
I woke up in the middle of the night thinking that the rudder as well as the engine needs a safety tether to secure them to Wave Rover II.

What a undertaking. Launch dates can be stressful for sure. Almost there. You’re going to need a rest after that.

does fatigue help you turn off your mind to go to sleep?
