- In this video I will take you thought the steps to DIY acoustic sound panels. The build is from start to finish. Cost per panel was about $25.00
Materials:
4'x8'x3/4" OSB cut into 3" strips (this should get you 15 3" strips and 1 slightly less then 3")
1-5/8" drywall screws
Landscape weed guard (basic weed guard)
Staples (I used JT21 and T50 staples)
Roxul insulation 16"
Fabric (I got mine at Joann and used Gula SC SLD GREY) Not sure how much I used, but it was more than 10 yards. Probably close to 25 yards of fabric.
8x2 1/2" Interior Construction Screws to mount on the wall (Probably overkill. You can go smaller, but use your own judgment).
Plastic Anchors 8-10 x 1-1/4" (1/4" drill size)
Tools/Supplies that I used. YOU DON'T NEED everything I used.
Miter Saw
Drill
1/8" countersink bit
1/4" drill bit (for wall anchors)
Phillips bit for drill
Phillips screwdriver
Framing square
Clamps
Pencil
Measuring tape
Stanley TR45 Stapler with JT21 staples
Arrow Cordless Staple gun with T50 staples

SUBSCRIBED! thanks for the walkthrough man!
You're welcome.
Wow. This is one of your best videos for sure. I hope it gets the views it deserves.
Thanks Mark. This one took a lot of time. We will see how it does. Hopefully it does well. 🤞🤞
Mr.Fasciano i used to be one of your students at Desert Sky in 2014! i’m so glad to see you’re doing well, you look so much happier lol
Well Kyler...it is summer break. School starts back up for me at the end of July. Check back in on another one of my videos in November and see if I still look happy.😁
10/4 sir😂😂
I really liked the voice over and all the detail. I also like how you ended this video ❤️
Thanks.
I really love your videos
Your content are an inspirational.❤️🇬🇭
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Nice Sir
Nice video. You're using MDF, not OSB.
This was a fun video to shoot and I appreciate the heads up. Another viewer brought it to my attention after I published it. I did not even know I made the mistake until someone said something.
I'm curious how did you mount the roof pannels. Nice job, very clean.
I put two 1x4x8 boards on the ceiling attached to rafter studs and then used L brackets to attach the panels to the boards which gave me a gap between the ceiling and the panel.
@@whiskeyisajourney thanks!
You are welcome.
Looks like you are using MDF and not OSB. Is this the case? Curious.
Correct. Did not even realize I made that mistake until you mentioned it.
My gosh, you did 20+ panels? Must have taken a while!
Once I had the system down I cranked out the panels quickly. I think I did all the panels in 3 days. I ended up making 24 panels. Way more than I needed, but oh well. I probably hit a point of diminishing returns after 10 panels.
Can i buy panels off you 😭
Is there any concern with the batting fibres permeating the fabric?
There is always a concern when dealing with insulation fibers. If you have a concern then I would suggest getting different fabric that will minimize the permeation of the insulation fibers.
What the fabric? Cotton or polyester?
It was polyester. I picked it up at a fabric store on AZ called Joann.
Are you sure it was OSB and not MDF?
It was MDF.
Nice Sir
Thank you!
