15:09 Fun little fact: the ghost Train is actually the oldest Ghost Train anywhere in the world
No way. I didn’t know that!
@@86RSJag it is debatable as both this and another opened the same year (1930) and noone knew which was first, however the other closed down a few years ago so this now definitely holds the record
"It's like that classic, quirky, old dark ride," said like this wasn't the template for every other classic quirky old dark ride that exists
I used to operate this ride what feels like a life time ago and seeing so many of the animatronics not working makes me very sad.
You are correct, and in just the the same way as big dipper, roller coaster, scenic railway are used to describe whole groups of coasters (named after the first one of each) this ghost train is why all future ghost trains were called ghost train... until someone started calling them dark rides, etc.
As someone who loves Krispy-Kreme, I’m also wondering why theme parks in the US don’t have Krispy-Kreme’s.
parks in the us tend to go for more custom shops as opposed to brands. they do have branded restaurants just not as much as european parks
Overrated compared to a local spot IMO.
@@coastingalongtell that to literally every six flags and cedar fair park then
@@cookimaus1 if you’ve been to them you’d know most of their food options aren’t chain companies. they have like a rita’s or a subway and that’s it
@@cookimaus1Johnny rockets? I don’t think that’s a brand
I love the style of this park, it's so old and there is nothing like it.
This won't mean anything to you, but it's really rare to see all three lanes of the steeplechase running on the same day.
Ye and it’s always the yellow side
The elusive yellow track credit. One day I will get you!
I came here in August and rode Icon 7 times! ANd I did the Big One 3 times. Valhalla was insane!
Great video, I love BPB, went in August for Big Dipper 100! Shame you didn’t go on Streak, it’s my personal favourite of the woodies. Also, please tell me you are joking with “Lake Loch Ness”!? 😂
Glad you got to see my home park (and hometown) in it's natural state, in the rain.
As someone who used to have Pleasure Beach as their home park for several years, it's definitely a place that the more you get to know, the more you will appreciate.
It has a lot of quirks that will weird out first-time visitors, but once you understand the history behind why things are the way that they are, your view on it changes for the better.
I'm really happy that compared to 2018, this time around you guys managed to see more of what the park had to offer. (I should know, I was there)
The train you caught went through my home town! So glad Valhalla is back open and that you got to experience it. Pleasure Beach is a really special park for heritage rides, really glad you enjoyed your day!
Hey I hope you see this comment and I hope you’re doing well!
Have loved this park ever since Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Loopy Landscapes.
Blackpool's best rides are the ones that make you feel like your life is in danger... the scariest one being the Wild Mouse which they sadly scrapped a few years ago now. Steeplechase I enjoyed but in a "hope I don't fall off" kind of way. Last time I went there was 25 years ago so it's good to see that *most* of the rides I remember are still there!
Screw you Harry! Alice in Wonderland is a great ride! 🤨
It's charming and colourful. Love it. You missed out. 😋
It’s a classic in the same way that Peter Pan is at Disney. It’s crap. But in a good way!
Sure there is some lore that Walt visited there and approved the ride and it fuelled the already brewing idea of his own theme park.
@@kriss_b this is a story I've been aware of for many years, I would like some confirmation though because Disney don't own the copyright for most of their fairytale films etc. So Pleasure Beach were free to make a ride based off Alice in Wonderland, just not copy Disney's character design.
It’s a good day when there is a vlog from coaster studios!!!
My favourite Guys & Gal for this stuff European or American come back to do more UK 🇬🇧 parks please guys the others were great but need Reveiws vlogs & pocs From Both The UK and Europe don't waste time in Ireland 🇮🇪 only 1 park from the most popular brand of Crisps
Called Tatoland or Tatoworld or somethg and the Mascó is a Me Potato 🥔 head relation 😂
The way Americans say Edinburgh 😂🤦🏻♂️
Blackpool PB has got to be my favourite park in the UK, something special about it that you don't get at m$rlin parks
Blackpool pleasure beach is one of the most iconic theme parks in the UK and some of my favourite rides at Blackpool pleasure beach are
Icon
The Big one
Nickelodeon Streak
The Blue Flyer
Revolution
Big Dipper
Derby Races
Flying Machines
Alice in wonderland
Ghost train
Valhalla
The River Caves
Ice Blast
Red Arrows Sky Force
Wallace and Gromit
Great video! I really enjoyed watching! Interesting park! I thought it was funny that girl waving at the camera around 18:40
Big One this year for some reason has been absolutely BRUTAL.
This year too, somehow rougher than big dipper, completely horrendous but without the airtime
Did you do on ride filming before the park opened?
yes
I swear to god, I've had baths that got me less soaked than Valhalla. I think my bones got wet.
Love seeing other enthusiasts visit my home park! So interesting to see what you guys thought of the rides. Definitely agree The Big One's drop is a bit of a car crash, I personally love it though. Shame you didn't get to ride Nickelodeon Streak, its actually got some really good airtime in the back. Grand National is so underrated, so glad you enjoyed it. Yes, its rough in places but that gives it character in my opinion and has some great airtime too. Would have loved to have seen your reaction to the SLC - gotta be one of the worst out there, so painful!
The Revolution model you saw used to be a hole when there was a crazy golf course in that spot. You had to putt the ball around the loop. I also didn't hear any music when you did Wallace & Grommit. Just seemed to be SFX on your ride. Really enjoying the series and lookimg forward to watching more.
Edin-Burrow 🙃😂
Can't believe you went through my home town accrington on the way to York respect.
As someone who started working there what must have been a week or so before your trip, I am absolutely devastated that I missed you guys :(
As a former ride op enjoy every second of it, what department? If rides what you got ?
I'm on South park and so far only been assigned to Icon, but as the season ends I'm sure I'll probably get thrown onto some other stuff now as well
As someone who lives 150+ miles away from the Pleasure Beach or us enthusiast call PB, love the park. Been going there since 1995 for a family holiday and more knowledge of the park history it's the place to go. Now back to your video comparing to stormforce 10 in Drayton manor in Tamworth with effectively is closest to my home town but Valhalla built in 2000 UK's first dark indoor ride of the 21st century and won over 15 golden ticket awards for best dark ride even when little refurbished in 2010 and also due to COVID 2020-2022 and up for more awards. Plus 4 generations owned theme park since 1896. Guys you should have more than a proper good time and look and enjoy the parks rides and historical background
Interesting to see you guys' reaction to the rides, particularly the ones you missed in 2018. It's a lot to get round in a day, you did pretty well especially with filming the POVs/rider cams. Shame about the food and the weather. Honestly the best times to be had at Blackpool are when it's sunny and you can take it at a leisurely pace. Great to have Harry join the last few parks.
HOT TAKE: Big One is the best ride at Blackpool (excluding Valhalla cus I haven't ridden it)
not close
I've always loved having a broken neck
As a Scottish person I’m so sad we’re not getting to see you in Edinburgh. (Ed-in-buh-rah) not buro ;) I work just beside the castle 🏰
Have the best time guys! Make sure to have some irn bru and a battered mars bar ❤
Good to know I've been pronouncing that wrong my entire life, lol! Always thought it was pronounced more like berg as in iceberg
I hope you can come to Frontier City soon to ride the Diamond Back and the Silver Bullet!
I would probably vote Valhalla my favourite none roller coaster ride in the uk but you do get very wet. The ghost train is the first one to use the name so its the original
Gutted we didn’t get to see your reaction to Infusion 😂
It literally feels like you’re being infused to the restraints. If you’re ever back in Blackpool and have some more free time I hugely recommend staying the night & seeing the drag show Funny Girls!!! It’s outstanding!
I’ve been waiting for this vlog for so long
You need to come Blackpool during the Illuminations you guys are missing out on way to much! The town and pleasure beach comes alive during this time of the year especially during the fireworks
I think the park really need another top coaster like icon, maybe a raptor or Bermuda blitz
Any new gen thrilling vekoma would fit really
@@54t4meda5 yeah maybe a tilt coaster or STC
When I was a kid, Knott's Berry Farm had a Steeple Chase-style ride called "Soap Box Racers". It was janky, but I loved it.
Go Canes!
I rode Valhalla almost 20 years ago now and don't remember it being wet, but it was a cold day so the effects might have been toned down a bit.
went to blackpool for my first ever visit in easter this year and my family friends went on valhalla and their phone started to not work very funny story
When's the Flamingo Land vlog coming out?
Later this week!
Honestly, the Big One wasn't too rough when I rode it a few months back, and Im normally quite sensitive to roughness.
Would be nice if they could reprofile those hills to give some airtime though.
Yo for some reason UA-cam completely stopped recommending your channel to me :(
Valhalla looks like the best water ride ever!
I genuinely think it might be
Amusement Today tends to think that a lot. I wonder how it'll do in this year's vote
When it was first built it was incredible. The best water ride I've been on but also the best dark ride.
The food is okay at Blackpool just not the burgers lol. Mostly the fast-food stands, excluding BK, are quite mid but the Pizza buffet doesn't have a bad price and doesn't have bad food at all. I did have a useless staff member that wouldn't go to anyone to pay so you could get the food. But that was once thankfully. I love the park though, as you went before Big Dipper reopened, it's partial retrack helped massively. But I am desperate to scrap Infusion! When it comes to Icon's fast pass entrance/Enzo, the entrance is at where the Big Dipper is now but still ends up where you were.
I certainly recommend leaving the park and going to the Velvet Coaster (Wetherspoons) pub next door for reasonably priced and better quality food, compared to what PB offers.
Icon is a beautiful ride. Easily my favourite
On the subject of Enso, I would say my ride was similar to Harry’s first, but there was more spinning in the first half, and guys you must be bankrupt after that many laps on enso😂 and the grand national is really underrated, the lap bar wouldn’t come down and staple me so I was being thrown around for the entire ride, the airtime is legit
How dare they insult icon!!!!!
Jk you can have your own opinions but I personally think there is no bad spots in icon
I love pleasure beach so much but big one is awful. However, I still cannot grow the balls to take that first drop in the back car with my hands in the air, I have to grab on with at least one hand it's so aggressive and I just don't trust arrow enough. Icon however, full hand-less yeet, those restraints are amazing
I have to be honest. The big one is a disappointment. Drop...nah, layout....nah. nothing is good. Been on many 200 odd foot rides that are a lot better.
Valhalla was so wet it turned Harry's Liseberg sweater into a shirt
Hey CS, interesting to see your thoughts on the Pleasure Beach especially as first time riders on Valhalla.
The Big One is definitely a back row coaster in the day, and a front row coaster after dark.
Shame you didn’t get to ride Nickelodeon Streak and Big Dipper. Also shame about your food experiences there!!
@@user-hs1no7sk1u No thank you.
I like B&M, but I don’t want to see this change. It also won’t happen.
@@yourexperienceguideEagle 1 would spin if anyone dared remove that ride
@@kriss_bThey’ve spent millions on new track, it’s definitely not going
@@yourexperienceguide That's the point I was trying to make pal
Can’t believe you didn’t do Alice in Wonderland because Harry said it was rubbish…….that’s so lame lol, you should have given it a go as it’s a classic dark ride
Also it’s a shame you didn’t experience more of Blackpool itself with the Tower, Piers and giant Arcades
Do you consider enso and icon as different creds ?
no
Just started but know it's gonna be great
could have guessed this guy liked the back better
Icon is perfect. It does not go on for too long at all
Why didn’t you eat at Burger King!?
we have burger king in the U.S.! We wanted something original!
Coaster Bot is also my favorite channel, nice to see him here. :)
That intro is cleeeaaaannnnn
Never listen to someone else's opinion when it comes to going on a ride! Alice Ride is just as quirky inside as it is on the outside, it plays Willy Wonka music and smells of fabric conditioner through out 😆
And to make it worse you then go and ride the Gerstlauer Sky Fly which is a bog standard flat ride that's all over the world! 😡😆
You need to give Alice a try next time you're here, it's a bit of a trip. It's certainly one of those "wtf was that" kind of rides.
I would also recommend leaving the park and going to the Velvet Coaster (Wetherspoons) pub next door for reasonably priced and better quality food, compared to PB.
YEAHH
I had zero interest in coming here... and then I saw Wallace & Gromit! A new movie is coming next year!!!!! And a new "Chicken Run"!!!!!!!!
BTW, it wasn't a "show". There were three short films - "A Grand Day Out" (the moon one), "The Wrong Trousers" and "A Close Shave" - that were eventually released together on DVD in the US. Then there was the movie, "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit". Then there was another short, "A Matter of Loaf and Death" which aired on TV in the UK but I have no idea where I saw it here. Probably DVD. There WERE two series, but I don't think they ever aired here. One was about Wallace's inventions and they were only a couple minutes long. I watched them on UA-cam. Another was more of a live-action science show that Wallace & Gromit "hosted". Shaun the Sheep from "A Close Shave" DID have a series though. In fact, the last season was made for Netflix.
Ayy
4:28 as someone who grew up and still lives in NJ. Krispy-Kreme was (and still is) my favorite donut place, but i only got them once a year when i went to my grandmother in Illinois, because we didn't go to jersey city and New York much so i rarely had them, until then built one right by me.
I do appreciate icon for being a family friendly coaster. a good starter ride for young ones, and smooth / slow for older ones. the thing is... It could have been so much better. the top hat doesn't go vertical. it doesn't have traditional inversion loop the loop instead some half loop with a roll over. their is loads of room at the end for another corkscrew. its so slow and smooth. icon should be iconic. and it doesn't have any iconic features at all. cool they fit it in though. what a spaghetti junction! it should hav been as good as velocicoaster. atl east had a zero g / fast corkscrew.
Sarah, as an FSU fan, I am extremely disappointed to see you in a Miami shirt😞. This is unacceptable
As a gator fan seeing Sarah wearing a Miami shirt makes me feel betrayed for liking you guys as much as I do but I don’t care your videos are always entertaining keep them coming
One of the ride ops at dreamworld told me you slow your spin when you put your arms out. Maybe that’s why you guys didn’t spin as much?
While there were 2 very short-lived Wallace And Gromit shows, you likely would have never seen them at all. What you would be familiar with is probably the first three short films and the movie The Curse Of The Were-rabbit. The 3 short films would play at seemingly random on US TV in the early 2000s, and the movie is an absolute banger.
Yo i watch wallace & gromit anually pretty much but its sooooo good i love it and my fav 1 is a grand day out (the moon one😂) i watch that literally like every couple months its sooo good 👍
My middle school Art teacher used to play us Wallace & Gromit sometimes. That's the only place I ever saw it. Was it even on regular TV over here?
Suggesting the Alice ride isn’t very good. My mouth dropped open… It’s one of my favourites there.
Why wouldn't they have a better drain on the bottom of the boats for Valhalla? Weird. Or put a small bilge pump in the boat. 22:52 Thought you sped up a clip of Big One going up it's lift hill haha. But that's the "airtime" hill.
The river caves used to have a male narrator that used to tell you facts about each 'world' you go through.
Walt Disney actully rode alice and wonderland at pleasure beach and its the only reason any disney park exists can't believe you didnt ride it
Tbf the food at pleasure beach is normally better than the merlin parks, especially this year. Guess its changed now?
Actually the old mill at kennywood does have audio and it works...I went last year and was working just fine
If you were interested in the ride parts stuff like big one track underneath the flying machine there is a shop that has a section selling only ride parts. On my recent trip they had icon brake pad peices parts of chains and old valhalla Sheilds. I bought a peice of revolutions brakes for 60 pounds that is a few feet long
Looks like Taylor Bybee returned to Blackpool Pleasure Beach with her friend Sarah!
This is the one we've been waiting for. Infusion..... (By chance Baz faces it in an upcoming vlog so we're swapping notes here 😂)
Great vlog, love the pleasure beach, can’t wait for the flamingo land vlog finally!
How the hell do you flip on the plane ride. I didn’t flip once 😭
You gotta throw your whole body into it!
@@CoasterStudios 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg fair enough
By far and away my favourite park in the UK and one of my favourite in the world.
i went on a rapid ride in a park called hellendoorn in the netherlands and they had 2 modes. from opening to 1pm it was normal and then from 1pm to close it was a soaking guarantee. and i was fully soaked like if you stood in the shower for a minute with clothes on. they have these water bows like they also have on valhalla but instead of over the boat they lowered the pressure and the water came in the boat
The only energy present in the River Caves is that of a CURSED one
Great vlog as always! Love Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Revolution is a sort of sentimental ride for me, as it was my first looping coaster! ICON's an experience I'd love to try, but The Big One is quite rough according to my friend. It's sad you didn't get to explore York a bit more, I love the place! Can't wait for Flamingo Land!
The Big One is just so dull. It's the Big Letdown.
The ghost train is the first recorded ride to be called the ghost train
RtH is not that good Taylor. But nice to see Sara rockin the U.
I rode big one few years ago the front was smoother for me as well I guess that is what you get from a 28 year old Arrow
Truthfully, Im glad I live in Fl.
My Wife is from Blackpool. We live in Nottingham - so for the last 20yrs, nearly every time we go to see the in-laws, I've been able to go to the Pleasure Beach - im a very lucky Coaster nerd lol! 🤓 Glad you guys seemed to enjoy your visit this time - and yes that rain at the end is juat a "North-West Factory Reset" - you get used to it! 😂
its a shithole.Worst rated seaside resort in the country.
Love to coaster bot what a link up!
All of these UK parks look so mediocre
My home park glad u liked it!!! :)
Here is icons most famous quote “icon is it an inversion is it not?”
Krispy Kreme is big in the Atlanta area
THERE YOU BE SAFE HAPPY LABOR DAY TODAY 1:42
Got the popcorn ready! Lets go!
