You are lucky to be in a muddy area that preserves the hull while you work on structural needs and can work inside and outside. Carry on. Love watching your talented progress. Love how you both gell together. Your patience is a learning lesson for all of us.
you two make me chuckle lots, 'why do women full that face?' that's that hard Paddington Bear stare we learnt off the kids tv program, i use that often - great video as ever full of soggy bottoms, dissection and scarfing, copper nails, teaching and learning of crafts, amazing (no bum cracks, bonus)
Thank you Simon and Gemma for another uplifting video. Your upcoming trip to the isle of man reminds me of why started watching your content, I grew up in the hometown of the late John Britten and like John, Simon has the vision and skill to build something from nothing and Gemma has the tenacity to keep moving forward when people say it can't be done. My admiration for John Britten ergo extends to encompass the two of you.
Love to see the tremendous progress you guys have made on the boat! You really have to be a plumber electrician welder carpenter and everything in between! Keep the videos coming much love from across the pond a fan in Kentucky
Yes indeed, pretty cool. ‘This was in Dday! , it IS mind blowing and as many have said, get someone to make souvenirs for Sarinda out of the pieces you have had to remove. Patrick, you’re an absolute 🌟. Well done for understanding just how special Sarinda is. AND your mum and dad for taking such care in her restoration. It can’t be easy for you children to share mum and dad with Sarinda, but YOU will also now be part of her history 🌟👏. Joan
That was great Patrick getting an award. It’s so great that the work your doing on serinda is and and has empowered so many followers and volunteers. With the young children getting interested in the work and the history of our navy. You two are amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool award. Getting the kids involved and allowing them to do the work, builds a better future for all. They learn that they can actually accomplish things they dream of doing.
Besides watching the boat grow, watching Simon come out of his shell and get comfortable enough on camera to relax, it's been great! Keep up the epic work I love the boat!
Congratulations Patrick on receiving that award from the National Historic Ships , Outstanding young man , outstanding indeed. Making great progress on Sarinda Simon & Gemma ( Cool T shirts by the way ) .. catch ya on the flip side .. Cheers.
Hi guys from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 stay safe and well guys 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 to Patrick i worked on boats when i was 7-8 years old 👍🏼👍🏼 and im 60 now good on you young man 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely brilliant to see the little lad getting interested in doing hands on restoration work, gets them away from phones and computer games. It also reminds me of my and my brothers younger years when we used to help build a couple of ocean going yachts, one of which is now a well known sail training ship called Black Diamond of Durham. She was ammatuer built in Chatham historic dockyard in the early 70s, my brothers and i started when i was 10, and finished the 2nd one when i was about 14 or 15. Watching the little lad reminds me of some really happy times. I don`t think enough is done to help young children get away from phones etc and getting more involved in projects such as Sarinda. A very BIG WELL DONE.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, love watching you all learn!!!! Patrick's gonna make a right splendid apprentice from what you've shown us. Thank you!
I am a big fan from Ontario Canada. Been watching your videos since the beginning. I laugh whenever it's Paint Your Boat Time. So i have mailed you a package to hopefully help the crew on those wet rainy days. Thnx Norm
Hi Norm, we have received your package! Thank you very much, they will come in very handy! Not sure if your on Facebook but we opened the parcel live there a couple of days ago! Once again thank you so much xx
Great vid. Nice to see Hisi Ships recognizing Patrick's had work. Something he can take to school and show off. I think he's been reading up as he seemed to know what you to were explaining to him. Take a bow you two as your way of teaching is perfect. One off the funny bits is when he said to Gemma I can,t hold it 🤣 that shows he's on to it thinking about the job as he's doing it. I mean where else can he come feels like part of the crew ( ya gonna have to get him a special Sarinda Crew T-shirt). Wow Bow done now let's get cracking on the Stern that's gonna be EPIC. That laminating idea was an epic idea as will be hugely strong. As always ROBO is the MAN. You could make some cool stuff from the non rotted timber. First piece should be for Patrick so he has a tangible part of the boat he is working as keep sake.... just a thought. Patrick's Dad seemed to be enjoying himself out in the MUD ;0) Right go and enjoy ya trip away and have a HOOT. ;0)
Congratulations to Patrick on your award it's well earned !! You guys letting him do "adults " jobs is giving him the confidence he will need for growing up and achieving greater things in life It's DEFINITELY something he will NEVER forget !! RESPECT TO YOU ALL X
Only saying it as it is ! A lot of the time it's the adults given these kids the opportunity to do thing and to PROVE that they can do it and do it safely is what its all about !! As someone with ADAHD I KNOW how it feels NOT to be given the opportunity to PROVE I could do the thing I was good at my life MAY have been completely different I WISH I had what you've given Patrick ! X
It is so amazing that the kids could work and learn. They will be once remember these days and will teach this to her own kids. This is the REAL way the kno-how goes on to the next berneration.
I love hearing all the positive comments such nice comments. Hope that you have a fab time in the IOM … my great great great Grandad was the Cox of the Peel Life Boat in the late 1800s and he and his crew saved the crew of a Norwegian ship. The Manx Poet T E Brown wrote a poem about him which is in the Manx Museum. His name was Charlie Cain
So heart warming to see you letting the little guy do some work, with hands on instruction. Would love to come and help, but none too well now. Fantastic project. Hope to see you motor out of there in the future!
@Birkenhaus Malmestranda Could tell the child to play in the street and inhale all the car exhaust fumes or watch TV in a house full of plastics that give off toxins
Another great episode guys, you guys are blessed with having such great friends who want to be involved and help you out. Hope you both had a great time at the IoM and of course did well on the intermediate power boat course too 👍 Stay safe and keep adding the bloopers at the end 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fair play for letting the young lad get involved and teaching him abit . To be honest that would drive me mad if I was trying to refit my own boat haha Hopefully he grows up savvy with boats and maybe even a career building them 🤷🏼♂️
"Each One, Teach One" If Hobbyists and Craftsman would take the time to teach a child as you have here, then we not only introduce young minds to new and exciting hobbies and skills, but we also preserve these skills for the future. Thank you.
You guys should cut the old wood up and sign it and throw a piece in with a tshirt order or whatever.. Give us a piece of the boat.. That would be sweet!!!
Dustin you got nothing better to do than leave shity comments, 4 on this video alone!! Think its about time you learnt some manners! Shall I ask young Patrick to give you a lesson?
@@dustinfrost5214 funny how you think you have an insight into how we treat our kids. Isle of Man, how cool. Went there every year on holiday when I was a kid. Want to go there again. Bike races there are mental! Love the progress off Sarinda👌👍
12/09/2022 Hello Ship. I see that you caulked teh exhaust along the hull. It was a very kind thing to give the child the rewards. That made him very happy and gave him a right to the renovation work and to the boat personally. He will remember this when he is an old man like me, just talking to friends about it. Great gift. Good Luck and stay safe 3 months ago. Don usa
Use to get bits of HSL102 made into pencils to sell on. Might be an idea for your original wood. Great to see the work and thumbs up to Patrick won’t be long until he get his own boat project.
Watching y’all from North Texas. Good job on the old boat so far.

Congratulations Patrick on receiving that award from the National Historic Ships. Way cool.
My Dad was from WW2 in Germany and Europe. He loved boats and he would have bought this one as done. There will be many offers.
It's amazing to think that boat is part of the reason we live in a free world.
Brilliant .
Idea for you guys, where possible pull some old copper nails and sell as momentousness merchandise! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸

Love to see that young man learning useful stuff. I think he deserved his award! Seems to be a useful crew-member, like Emilia!
He definitely does! Patrick has just finished another long hard day with us today! He is a great asset to the team!

Great job to Patrick. Probably the youngest young adult in the world to work on restoring a boat from WW2

@18:03 'my dad told me to, i don't know why'. :-)) boy, how many times did i say that when growing up :-))
Bravo Patrick! I so wish I were nearer and could come and volunteer. Sarinda is a great place of education for us all. Well done all of you.

Send him down to South Devon. We have wooden boat builders and a considerable steel fishing boat industry that works out of Brixham.
Thank you for taking us on your journey. Look forward to it every week 🙌
3 cheers for Patrick, bravo!
That three-section-tapered-wedge-piece looked like an utter PIA. Clever. Good work.
