Hell divers 2 is actually dying compared to elden ring which has over 250 thousand players

I wouldn't say Helldivers 2 is dying, the 24 hour player count peak may be trending down over its lifetime but that's to be expected of any title. The all time peak of players online at once was 458K on the 21st of Feb 2024, but the current 24 hour peak was 132K.
Elden Ring by contrast smashed that peak figure with 953k at launch, but by 3 months after launch it had declined to about where Helldivers 2 is now 3 months after its own launch, a much steeper decline from its peak. It currently sits at a 24 hour peak of 47K.
Of course, these numbers don't account for console players, and it's tough to compare the two titles with the one being strictly multiplayer and the other being almost entirely single player. PlayTracker, Gamalytic, VG Insights, and SteamSpy all seem to suggest their sales are pretty close anyhow.
