Howard, thanks for the great tutorial! I added the 300 Hz CW crystal filters to both receivers of my FT-DX101D. The filters are offered here in Germany by a well-known dealer, but no installation instructions are included. Therefore your video was very appreciated! The modification went smoothly, however you should already have experience with such circuit boards. If you do a lot of CW and DX, the narrow filters are worth the investment.

Why in the world didn't Yaesu just install the dang filters in the first place....?
My filters have just arrived for my FTDX101MP, I am in the UK and they are readily available. Hopefully will get it all done promptly. 73 edit:
Can you make a video of how this filter actually works when receiving signals. Comparison of 1.2kHz to 3kHz filters.
Looks simple - Am I the last on the planet to use Static discharge mats and ESD precautions ?
Hello, I'm in the USA and was wondering where to buy the optional roofing filters. And what website do I find the instructions? Thanks in advance.
Yaesu USA specifies all option roofing filters as 'Factory Install Only' and won't sell by itself.
