I have been a Car Hauler... the equipment is expensive.. and not intuitive to use. Why are you even talking about jumping out of the frying pan... and into the fire? Did you go on a spending spree during the downturn of 2008 ? This is basic reasoning 101.
I haul cars otr for a living and were constantly increasing capacity. Ive been hauling 8-9 cars out and 8-9 back twice a week. People most definitely still bought cars in and after the 08 downturn. Just my 2 cents from someone in the industry.

before you order one, clean all the brass on each side. on the computer side and the plug side. this is a known problem for the dodge. i have a 04, so i know. try the cleaning first. most of the the time thats the problem

Had the same thing happen with my 05 Dodge. Once it got hot it would run on half injectors. Put it in the freezer for a few and it’d run fine until warm. Sent the computer to a place called Flagship One in NY and spent less than $500 to get it fixed. Better than spending $1500 on a new computer.
One thing about Car Hauling is very Lucrative Business to be in, I have a real close friend has a Towing Company but has morphed in a Cars and Trucks all over the US, with a lot less fuel and work as much or as little as you want. Refer or flatbed. Don't bother with dryvan anymore, it's bottom of the barrel. And car hauling is always tiny profit unless all the stars align. Lots of things are moved on open flat. And food will always be moved no matter what
Justin, if you had a couple of different trailers your load board widens and you would probably run well. Drop deck, flat bed, and reefer would round out your 'fleet'. Peace

You should have Dye Checked the Oil and Antifreeze to make sure it doesn’t have a bad Head Gasket, or Cracked Block. Check it just to be on the safe side. Although 12 5.9 are great Pullers because they are the very same Motors that were put into class D Trucks. Motorhome, School Buses, many Applications for that Particular Motor because of Versatility it will Go Down in the Annals of Time.

..... my 3rd gen eats batteries.... if the ecm is done there is a guy in Florida that is awsome ...... I sent him mine and i thought it was done for sure.....he tested it and said it was good sent it back for 40 bucks but if it's bad he will fix it for 500 bucks.

Car market is crashing! Carvana is probably filing bankruptcy soon. Federal reserve is expected to raise interest rates again which is making car loans way too expensive for people to purchase new vehicles

Weirdly, several big companies are starting their own truck broker business and web sites. Lots of new warehouses are under construction now. Gamblers ? or do they know something ?

Refrigerated Trailer hauling Explosives for the Govt, to Military Bases gets you about 15 Bucks a mile plus wait time at 100 bucks an hour plus fuel. If you can get a Clearance and a Co-Driver and a Guard that is all extra. My buddy runs 2 Trucks and he nets over a Million plus a year after taxes and expenses. I assure you that is possible. He has 2 Peterbilt's Armored and 54' Armored Trailers. Hwy Only the Govt supplies the Armored Guard Vans and Support. The Range of the Trucks are 1600 miles. Each Truck has its own Sleeping Dining and Toilet Shower. Maintenance and Run Flat Tires are all included in the Support. There are no restrictions from the DOT and they cannot stop you. You fill up on Base at no charge. The return trip is the same way even if you are empty. You do not wash the units they are done for you. Units are locked in a Storage Unit under DOD Guard when not in Use. You do have to take a Drug test before every trip and after every trip. You can have up to 3 drivers on board and the trucks do not stop anywhere. You buy the truck everything else goes with it free. Minimum Contract is 5 years. They need more Trucks and crews. Truck driver seat is designed to swing into position to change a driver while going down a highway. The total weight loaded can be 135000 lbs GVW. It is mind boggling 1.2 mil a truck and 450g for a Trailer. Who knows what is inside the trailer? Zero Incidents in the last 5 years.

You may have already done this but, check the fuse running to the OBD II link, my truck just blew that fuse and the link won't connect to the truck.
