A threadbare speech in Sanskrit is an uphill task in that you don't have the required ambience around you to practice it. Speaking and reading are quite different. You have got to speak in Sanskrit for a fair amount of time to master it. And there are not many there around you to reciprocate it. It's a unique language. And the ancient scriptures have been written in a language which is very abstruse in nature. A wrong or just literal inference will take you nowhere. A single word may take one or two lines and a sentence may run into a page in translation. For a person like me who had Sanskrit upto 8th or 9th standard only, it's as difficult as going on Mars on my old bicycle.
