3:38 It's not true that Captain Bernard does not train you any further unless you've done the patrol with Nightingale. He only sends you to the Rathaus where you are told to meet up with Nightingale in the afternoon and grab some kit from the armoury. Once you've spoken to the Bailiff, you can go back to Bernard for further training and then go back to meet Nightingale afterwards. That way you can learn Combos and Master strikes before going on patrol. That helps a lot in the fight against the Cumans after the hunting trip.
oh you mean that bandit camp with radzig i keep getting obliterated in ? i think my best course of action is to buy dice and just purchase the best armor i can find. then go through with that quest again.
I went to the Bailiff then back to Bernard without doing Nightingale quest. Bernard wants money for training. Do you still have to pay him if you do Nightingale first? Maybe that's why TOG said do Nightingale... Game has a hard learning curve! Sheesh
Getting Mutt with you when you go hunting is a must. Plus you can brew Saviour schnapps without even knowing how to read . There's plenty of belladona 200m past the Inn by the training arena in Rattay if you follow the path on the left until you reach a wall that separates 2 fields. Add wine and 1 nettle to the cauldron. Pull the bellow 5 times, grind 2 belladona and add it to the cauldron ,no need to wait for the fire to go off, grab a phial . voila! You get 3 Saviour schnapps for the price of 1 even with Alchemy at level 0.

I always walk next to Capon. It is more natural, more lore-friendly, and in my mind it might push thoughts like "if he had a horse I wouldn't get captured" into Capon's mind as well. Strengthens the bon afterwards. The whole point of this game is to overcome your humble beginning so being a bright talented peasant at the start is just perfect. And it is also an important lesson and punishment for Henry too, a lesson about knowing boundaries and proper behavior toward nobles.
I just started a new playthrough in anticipation of the sequel and the best early game recommendation I came across was the way to get a noble saddle with 4 saddlebags for free in the prologue. When you are rescuing Theresa from being assaulted by the Cumans, if you get on the horse with the green saddle you can get a noble saddle, you just have to un equip it after you get the cutscene where you get shot in the leg.
All around it’s a great guide. Just to add about potions; if you already did a playthrough and remember a recipe (or look them up), you can make them immediately on your new play through and Henry will write them into your book after a successful brew. Aqua Vitalis can be sold to traders, butchers, pubs, herbalists so in Rattay you have like 7 stores to sell to, and you can buy the room in the Inn by the Combat Arena to store your herbs and pots between getting flowers from the fields between you and Neuhof. No stealing needed to make all the money you need. Autobrew has two perks to get instantly 3 potions at lvl 15. If you are quick you can brew twice per look at the recipe book so 6 pots every 2 seconds or so. Also Leg Day perk raises Strength whilst gathering ingredients. I suggest making a batch of 2-300 Saviour Schnapps and then a stock of all the other potions you desire, and then mainly sell Aqua Vitalis.
i bought kcd in 2020 and im really glad people are discovering it now, its honestly the best game i ever played and i even feel like i learned some things thanks to it, which is probably exactly the goal of it. i just hope kcd2 wont dissapoint.
@@takshak_dawda basically just things about history, but not like what youd see on youtube, more about the average life of people in the middle ages, the tech and hygiene they used etc
I think before you go to captain bernard, just when you reach rattay, its a excelent opportunitty to be a thief and a poacher, explore all the world , avoiding fights (except wayfarers), doing millers quests only, just leveling pickpocket, stealth ,lockpick, archery, and only after this thief phase, you then go to captain bernard to go for knighthood.
If you are playing the Royal edition, be sure to talk to Theresa at the Rattay Mill to pick up Mutt, the companion dog. Hunting, Fighting and Searching. Your canine friend would help you in your journey. Once you learn the "Seek" perk, you dog would Bark whenever an interesting site or buried treasure is nearby and he will lead you there. Be sure to have lockpicks and spade on hand
If you don't mind completing her questline, she gives you a very good Skalitz Shield at the end of it, keep in mind that it has a minimum requirement of 4 Strength to use efficiently, which normally isn't a problem, but in Hardcore Mode, the Nightmare perk will give you trouble in the beginning
@Cody-qh3os You'll have to select Seek by talking to Mutt. Note that if Mutt runs away then any commands are reset to Free. Reactivate command when he returns
When you return the Skalitz if you look at the side of the bridge you can see an unlocked treasure chest with incredible loot in it, a semi-unique brigandine (there's only one other instance of this in the game it's right at the end on a friendly npc who's only in one scene), a bailiff mace, a necklace... I forget what's in it in hardcore mode but all of those are really good. The charisma from the necklace is probably really useful at that point if nothing else.
@@glennericnaylor276 other side of the bridge. The far side of the bridge as you approach it initially just on the shore. It might have a little bush nearby making it hard to see...
The skalitz brigandine is all but unique, the only other place it shows up is on a friendly NPC during a battle at the end of the game. So it's a bit hard to get.
Best thing about the game it is slow. Like real life. It is complex and yet simple. Easy to understand hard to master. It is skills based. But rpg. It has a story but you have time to explore. Just like being outside with a phon. Some will look at the phon and hate the outside. Some will keep the phon in their pocket and enjoy the breeze of the wind.
You don't need to complete "Nightingale" to continue training. You just need to start it by talking to the bailiff and you can head straight back to training without even talking to Nightingale or doing the patrol.
For anyone interested in alchemy- Samopesh has all the herbs in abundance. Brother Nicodemus just down the road seems to pay the best for Lazarus potions.
@Cody-qh3os he'll make money off of what I sold him come vendor reset day, then, he'll have even more coin to help the skalitz folk, although he won't actually do it...
you can use other arm gear instead of the vambraces before bow level 3, so long as it takes up the slot. any sort of brigandine plate pauldrons etc would work just as well.
You can get the best saddle in the game when Henry escapes Skalitz. Just move its saddle to your inventory. I'm kinda mad I learned about it after arriving in Rattay, but I've become rich by stealing so it doesn't really matter. My armor is very quiet and almost got lockpicking to level 15. When caught I just intimidate the guards and they ignore me. Also managed to kill Bernard and 20+ guards with bow and wounding arrows by standing on top of a sloped roof on a shed next to a staircase. Didn't save obviously, but it suprised me that you could actually kill Bernard when he tries to arrest you.
I love this game so much dude, even if I didn't learn anything from the guide I'm just going to weed brain it through. Because a game that doesn't hold your hand deserves to be played.
This is more of a guide to optimize the early parts of the game. Don't do the grinds that are shown! You will burn yourself out of the game and then most likely quit, so the gains from the grinds would be useless to you. Instead just play the game normally some main quests here and some side quests there etc.
I believe that is insane. I just got it as well and the love and ambition put into this game for it to just be $3 plus tax bothers me. This is the quality gameplay I would so happy pay for
@@angelalgarin1918 Yeah, although it was a difficult game at first, I am enjoying it quite a lot. There was a lot of attention to detail when it comes to historical accuracy and overall gameplay and story.
@@angelalgarin1918 I think it is a brilliant marketing ploy. Sell the original for pennies to people like me who avoided it at full price because of the difficult and frustrating combat. (frustrating to me at least) Then hoping I buy the new one, which I am likely to do now.
Wow thanks man what a great tip! I just ordered KCD and am trying to prepare myself, because I heard that it is not easy and has a steep learning curve, at least if you aren't familiar with that style, and I am for sure not... But with your help I am confident to start a great adventure with Henry, and I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to it!
I recently returned to kingdom come, I bought it years ago and loved the bit i saw, but I never had the time to play it until now, and I have to say, this is the best game ever created in my opinion, at least in terms of medieval. The first mision after the skalitz tutorial, were you have to flee from the kumans, feels so intense, it is so immersive and you feel the threat for your life. The skills are so well done, they benefiting each other and it really depends on your practice, it´s not about the level of your character, it´s the players experience that makes your character good, I love that concept. The game requires you to plan, to think and the game really let´s you recognize quickly, if you made a fatal mistake. I love how the learning curve feels rewarding, clearing a regular bandit camp in kingdom come feels more rewarding and intense than a from software boss, I love this game.
Actually Barnard will train you in masterstikes immediately after talking to the bailiff. No need to complete the patrol quest. And you can do the first tourney without worrying about unlocking them before it fails.
I followed this guide, and then the tourney popped up as failed lol, don't really care to be honest I've murdered half the population in this town already and keep selling stolen goods to Theresa's uncle.
At around 8:00, how long can you make Hans wait to go Hunting after you brawl with him in Keep the Peace w/ Nightingale after you train with Captain Bernard and duel Hans. To walk to get your first horse then go to learn to read? I thought that was a timed quest.
@@ThatOtherGamer that’s good, cuz the game really feels scheduled til Ginger in a Pickle. (Which i looked up, and did) On my first play through, and now i’m rooming the game while investigating Reeky.
collecting tons of herbs is a good way to make early game money and leveling up (herbs and strenght) before even leaving Skallitz. Its not more of an exploit than training a lot before meeting nightingale.
I’ve just been doing all the miller stealth and thieving missions first. Mainly because I want my Henry to be at his lowest and rise to his best later on, being extremely experienced in all aspects of his craft
Thank you for this! In my playthrough i did not manage to beat Hans Capon, so he kept his bow. But i adapted, and i've managed quite well in spite of this. Please keep the informative videos coming, kind Sir! Now it's back to Bohemia for me... Jesus Christ be praised! 😊👌
I always make my stats high enough to kill every invader before escaping skallitz. It's funny, you kill everyone but still get the cutscene being chased. HAHAHA
I just realised KCD plays like a dream on my Steam Deck, for some reason I never considered playing it on that device given how hard it is to run on my gaming rig... So yeah, just started yet another playthrough on one of the best RPG out there.
For some reason in the fortress town (before Ratay) I could not open the chest opposite where the shield is it was locked and I had no picks, so lack any decent armor unfortunately. I got the shield, but not the armor alas.
2:15 you don't only have to beat Hans in the duel in order to win his bow, you must also beat him in archery. I have no problem defeating him in combat but as this is the first mission post Prologue how the hell are you supposed to win at archery when this is probably the first time you've ever held a bow? also the controls kak. especially on console and with no target icon. This is a serious question how am I supposed to beat him archery is there somewhere I can go and practice and level up the skill before I'm forced enter into this duel?
You probably know all this but you can get a free saddle with 4 slots if you grab the first horse you see when fleeing the first city and looting it off the horse after the cut scene when you get shot in the leg. Also abusing the first combo you can learn for a longsword when doing master strikes instead of the combo he wants you to do with gain you 1 stn, 1 sword and 1 warfare until around level 10 in each skill if you just keep doing it and "failing"
As a long time rpg fan. This game took me by surprise. Why didn't I buy this before. Stuck in a rpg with magic and monster so this game is a refresher for the genre. Love this game.
My advice is make your way to skalitz, pick up the expensive armours of the dead soldiers/bandits/cumans, take them back to sasau and sell, you won’t carry much at first but repeat it a few times until you can afford the cheapest horse, and a saddle with 4 carry bags….then return to skalitz and carry 500% more, you only need to do 4-5 trips on horseback with 4 saddlebags and you’ll have a good 10,000 groschen right at the start….or you can do it as many times as you need….. easy levelling up tricks: Herbal- pick flowers constantly, pick the strength perk as soon as it appears and strength will level up too, stealth/pickpocket…use padfoot potion and knock out sleeping victims, combat- max out your weapon quickly killing the cows/pigs at sasau…you’ll also level up hunting at the same time. When making potions you don’t need to boil anything ever, just add the right ingredients in any order, grind and distil where necessary, marigold decoction is the fastest way to level up. Best armour to get is house of zoul armour on the DLC with band of bandits, best sword is St George, found in a hidden treasure map location. Stock up on chamomile potion, Lazarus, bucks, bijou rage, antimisia, for combat….and keep a few hair of the dog potions to instantly stop the drunk effect after taking all the potions.
Finally checking this game out my biggest problem though is the lockpicking. The mission where you have to look like a guard to leave, i only ended up breaking the law to get kicked out of the town.
Okay words of advice you don’t have to complete the patrol to go back and train with Bernard you just have to report to the quest for the patrol and then you can go right back to training
What about any timed quests that have a chance to expire early on? Like that one skalitz girls husband? I've tried starting that mission earlier but he still always dies.
The only thing that's been holding me back from buying this is being overwhelmed and confused when I was looking at gameplay "Oh man you can't even read? What am I supposed to do?". Thank you for this. I've now bought it and am installing it now!
I stole a thalmberg shield and used it for the whole game. I mostly tried to avoid stealing from allies, but that shield got me through a lot of tough spots so I was glad to have it
I’m confused about Hans capon. he didn’t dual me with swords. Captain bernard takes me to the archery range first and I have to compete against capon in archery first
Everything should be done first, BEFORE you speak to Sir Radzig the main quests don't leave you much time to do anything else but you can do everything but the main quests before even starting them, the first time you speak to sir Radzig you should have a horse, be able to read and mix potions, all the rooms in the inns are rented, you've done the treasure chests, side quests, this way you will be able to do the time sensitive parts of the main quests when they happen to the best outcomes.
Every time I replay this game I just spend an in game week at Bernards training until I hit 20 with swords, after you learn master strikes there's no going back
@@ThatOtherGamer I know people get annoyed whenever you say "yeah but it's immersive" but the routine of waking up in the mill and walking up through rattay to practise my swordsmanship everyday feels really in character and doesn't feel like a grind to me
Why is it at the start you get the armour without lock picking? I’ve seen a lot of play throughs and everyone seems to be able to just rob it but I have lock pick so I end up just jumping off the bridge and escaping with nothing but weapons
Wait, what Talmberg quest wants you to steal stuff from guards? I know you can get a quest like that from a Miller. Also, at what point did you pick up that sword at the 1:18 mark? After you woke up at Pesheks? Isn't that sword in Skalitz? Did you walk all the way back there?
"Wait, what Talmberg quest wants you to steal stuff from guards?" When you are at Talmberg and want to leave to go bury your parents. If you talk to the gate guard and pass an easy speech check, he'll suggest you disguise yourself as a guard so he can pretend he didn't notice and let you go. You are then prompted to go and steal a Talmberg guard kit from the armoury. "Also, at what point did you pick up that sword at the 1:18 mark?" Right after leaving Talmberg and find your way to Skalitz. You'll see the Skalitz bailiff's body near the entrance. "After you woke up at Pesheks? Isn't that sword in Skalitz?" No, he means you'll already have the sword by the time you wake up in Pashek's house.
In my opinion, Trojan is a better tier 1 horse than Boxer and you can also get him in Neuhof. Edit: I realise the reason you chose Boxer is because he's cheaper, but the extra capacity makes it worthy to save a bit more for Trojan imho.
I remember my first and second playthrough where i played the entire game twice not even knowing that master strike existed, i just convinced myself that id never be good enough to win the arena
I just picked up Royal Eeition for 4.5$ and its overwhelming and frustrating in the beginning. Im no just arrived at rattay and it seems it really starts to open up and im hooked
The one benefit of not having a horse by the time you do the Hans Capon hunting quest is the difference in how the Cuman camp is handled. With a horse, Henry rushes in after Hans and you're in the middle of a melee fight from then on. Without it, Henry starts further out and can stalk upon the camp and use whatever meager stealth and archery skills he has to improve the odds.
Well i had the dog by my side but i send him to the mill because i feared i might lose him on a quest . But now i cant get him back as a companion . Pls help me . Is there a chance to get him back on my side?
I appreciate the realism they went for in this game and as much as I love this game I still had issues with it. Archery being one of the common ones. I get that a real person wouldn't see a crosshair but the main reason we need something like that is because in a videogame we don't have the same depth perception. There's also the position of the bow, the way Henry holds it he would essentially be pulling the arrow back to his neck, which you don't do. You can adapt of course and I got pretty good at archery, it's just kind of silly and creates a rather large barrier to entry, maybe that was the purpose since they can't otherwise simulate unskilled archery, perhaps higher levels could have the bow positioned better or something instead. The other was melee. I love the combat and the sword fighting is fun. A little annoying being constantly fighting multiple enemies in a system that doesn't support it very well but aside from some frustrations early on I enjoy it. What annoys me is enemies doing constant master strokes on you and combos being almost impossible to pull off 90% of the time. It's great when you can manage to do it but the seemingly RNG quality of master strokes giving enemies essentially a free hit on you can be a little annoying. Picking your battles is all well a good until you pick up a timed quest and inevitably have to reload to an earlier save or fail the quest because those banbits for some reason have a master level swordsman who is totally untouchable with my level 10 swordsmanship. Though there's always cheesing with the bow. I wish food was handled better. I liked the idea of hardcore mode but staying fed with tapeworm was tedius even with ascetic simply because I need like 5+ breadrolls or something to get my nourishment up. Each time I have to find a trader and go through the whole shop and barter interface. I don't even mind them removing the overpowered use of shared pots. If they wanted the realism and still wanted me to have to stop by shops for food I wish they'd just let me sit at the tavern and order a meal that would fill me up. Still have to manage eating and paying for food but saves me the tedium. Would be far more immersive too. You'd also still have to manage food in the wilderness because there's no taverns and it would also give you more reason to go to taverns. But this video isn't about any of that. I've just been playing again recently due to the upcoming release of 2, saw this video and suddenly wanted to let this out.
I didn't have a start as good as this one. But i actually liked the fact that i got my ass handed to me in the beginning. I was just a simple blacksmith son who just had his entire village murdered, so it makes sense i wasn't some well equipped warrior. It reïnforces the whole story line that has you start as a 0 working your way up to hero status.
Maan, I had no idea about master moves. I suffered through combats by buffing myself with alchemy potions and trying to rush enemies before they converge on me or try sneak in the camp of enemies and poison the food pot
@@ThatOtherGamer ok, so I can try to win the Rattay Tournament the first time without incurring in bad consequences/missed sequences and or quests later on?
@@ThatOtherGamer also, I have read there are different quests that consequently start a tourney when started. So, If I can get enrolled in the first tourney after learning master strikes, will I be able to start it once again through those quests when I get to them? And finally, if I choose one of those quests, will the others be locked up and impossible to start because it's an exclusive-like decision?
Characters will usually say if certain quests are timed or there will be hints, but I don't want to spoil anything. It's best not to join the tourney while doing those because it doesn't halt deadlines.
To be fair, you can make potions without being able to read I just got done with the plague mission and still haven't gone to learn how to read yet Took me a minute to figure out the words but I eventually unscrambled it all and figured out what I needed to do lol
I’m an archer in real life and ai have to say that I loved KCD but hated the archery. If you are reasonably fit and you bow’s draw matches your strength, you can hold the bow steady enough to regularly hit a target.
I think I need to start over!!! I played all day yesterday and only made it to the fight w that kid and the archery and of course I lost lol!! N I kept freaking getting poisoned n dying
Seem interesting but i've always have the impression that main quest are limited in time, and i know that some of them are. Also, It didn't feel right to stop for a week to train when your lord urge to do stuff.
Unpopular take but I’m currently on my first play through modded to have all skills maxed and every perk I want and can save at will and it’s such an enjoyable experience. If more games let people edit every stat I promise these amazing games would get more mainstream sales. Because I’m experiencing all everything the game offers from the start I’m getting a feel for things I would never otherwise of tried and I’m already planning my next play through legit but without feeling overwhelmed or limited by my lack of knowledge. At £40 to £60 quid a game I should be free to have access to everything the game can be and play it however I want and not have only at best the final 20% of content left to enjoy my hard work and cool fun build. It’s actually this that encourages replay value because now I can choose my own limits, restrictions and challenges with a complete idea of all the fun mechanics and abilities. Basically I’m drunk and ranting. Wish you all the best on this joint human experience we are all forced to endure
Around 8 in the morning til evening he will be at the training yard right outside the upper castle. You can talk to him about more advanced training and by the end he will teach you master strokes. You can also spar with him early on with training weapons. Sense you don't lose health, you will be able to train for hours on end. Good way to boost your stats and skills and lets you practice new combos, much better than paying for individual lessons for sure, only one I'd recommend is defense, the higher it is the quicker you can block and give you more of a gap for master strokes.
I'm having a difficult time even getting started. I have no money or gear and everything I try ends up getting me sliced open by guards. Threw poop at a house, got away, tried getting money owed Father, and some guard for whatever reason hacks me to pieces causing me to start back before throwing poop again. Can't enter areas, can't win battles, can't seem to figure out what the heck I am supposed to be doing. I appreciate the video but it starts off somewhere unfamiliar so it isn't very useful to newbies like me. I will keep searching for other videos that may cover my issues. 😁
Are you Lockmort? you sound just like him, I placed this game ahead of all others I was supposed to play because of his high praise for this game, and now Im watching your video because I already messed up the guard uniform part yesterday. Btw the chest you opened @1:06 how did you opened it? I didnt have any money on me to purchase the lockpick from the trader, I could sell my clothes, come to think of it....
Once kunesh refuses to pay his debt, you need to go inside his house and look at the chest first. It will trigger a line from Henry, then talk to Fritz right after the gang talks about their plan regarding deutch's house.
Something doesn't make sense in the video, if you do the patrol quest with Nightingale it triggers the hunting trip with Capon the next morning, that is not mentioned at all, instead you're talking about continuing the training, which would mean you ditched Capon, I've never tried that but it surely leads to certain consequences (edit: it doesn't, apparently he'll wait each morning, so it's just immersion breaking). Also, you don't need all weapon skills on 5 to learn the 'Masterstrike', the one you choose has to be on 3, the rest doesn't matter. I'd never train all weapons to 5 in one go, that would take forever, or at least be a quite boring and annoying few hours. Oh, and buying that saddle is a bit of a waste as you can get the best one in the game for free somewhat early on.
walking next to the horse isnt that bad considering you get a horse very shortly after. Allowing me to skip that entire part of the video to walk and just get my free horse saves me all the gold from the tournaments. I have decided to use that for better gear/armor and potions

Learned things irl? Can you please tell me what? I've just started it
@@takshak_dawda basically just things about history, but not like what youd see on youtube, more about the average life of people in the middle ages, the tech and hygiene they used etc

It will

When you get the guard outfit in the beginning instead of getting the shard, theres a reliable blade in the basket up the latter
😎👍
If you don't mind completing her questline, she gives you a very good Skalitz Shield at the end of it, keep in mind that it has a minimum requirement of 4 Strength to use efficiently, which normally isn't a problem, but in Hardcore Mode, the Nightmare perk will give you trouble in the beginning
The dog is great - i suck at fighting and the dog helps a lot there :-)
@talaniel
Goes well with the Et Tu Brute perk from the stealth skill tree *Back attacks are stronger*
@Cody-qh3os
You'll have to select Seek by talking to Mutt.
I find a fish trap...
@@glennericnaylor276 other side of the bridge. The far side of the bridge as you approach it initially just on the shore. It might have a little bush nearby making it hard to see...
There’s 30 similar treasures
The skalitz brigandine is all but unique, the only other place it shows up is on a friendly NPC during a battle at the end of the game. So it's a bit hard to get.
Best thing about the game it is slow. Like real life.
It is complex and yet simple.
Easy to understand hard to master.
It is skills based. But rpg.
It has a story but you have time to explore.
Just like being outside with a phon.
Some will look at the phon and hate the outside.
Some will keep the phon in their pocket and enjoy the breeze of the wind.
Just loaded this up today. Having a blast in the first 4 hours. Aesthetics and combat are awesome.
Glad I stumbled on this video!
Hi,James. Glad you're having fun with KCD,and thanks for watching.👍
"Choice Paralyses" is a great term. It's the first time Ive heard it and it is very applicable.
You don't need to complete "Nightingale" to continue training. You just need to start it by talking to the bailiff and you can head straight back to training without even talking to Nightingale or doing the patrol.
Just started my second playthtough of KCD on hardcore mode and it is such an immersive joy to play! I'll be using these tips, sound man!
@Cody-qh3os the Church doing shifty things?!
you can use other arm gear instead of the vambraces before bow level 3, so long as it takes up the slot. any sort of brigandine plate pauldrons etc would work just as well.
Thanks for reminding me. These optimisation guides that gets recommended on youtube completely destroyed stardew valley play through for me
Im doing that on my second playtrough and enjoy it much more. And no stealing or murdering. Its more realistic (and honest) this way
Just picked this game from PlayStation store for $4.00!! Enjoying it so far.
I got it for the same price on PC.
4 bucks.😳 What a deal!
Nice! I hope you have fun in KCD like a lot of us here do. We got numerous videos in the playlist that covers almost everything essential.
Same here. I got it back in 2022 and abandoned it 5hrs in because it was too realistic but I just reinstalled it and WOW what was I thinking?
Actually Barnard will train you in masterstikes immediately after talking to the bailiff. No need to complete the patrol quest. And you can do the first tourney without worrying about unlocking them before it fails.
I followed this guide, and then the tourney popped up as failed lol, don't really care to be honest I've murdered half the population in this town already and keep selling stolen goods to Theresa's uncle.
After 6 months still vest video i ever found on internet!
GL!
The game is an absolute joy to play & I am pissed I did not get it during covid.
At around 8:00, how long can you make Hans wait to go Hunting after you brawl with him in Keep the Peace w/ Nightingale after you train with Captain Bernard and duel Hans. To walk to get your first horse then go to learn to read? I thought that was a timed quest.
Based from my experience,it can be delayed for as long as necessary.
@@ThatOtherGamer that’s good, cuz the game really feels scheduled til Ginger in a Pickle. (Which i looked up, and did)
On my first play through, and now i’m rooming the game while investigating Reeky.
I have found when fighting Capon if I stabbed after blocking his stab, I seemed to get more hits.
I cheesed this fight by stabbin’ till he fainted.
It was the windmill fight. First time you take on 4 to 1 and win you'll feel awesome
Don’t go on patrol with nightingale.
Just talk to the bailiff and then continue to train with Bernard to learn master strikes.
collecting tons of herbs is a good way to make early game money and leveling up (herbs and strenght) before even leaving Skallitz. Its not more of an exploit than training a lot before meeting nightingale.
It also gives you a bit of money to start out with as three of the Skalitz traders will buy the herbs.
HAHAHA
Nice! That's good to hear. Thanks for watching, yvinnthon.👍
Did you do the experience exploit? I've read about it but I never got to test myself.😂
Who still playing in 2024?
Started playing just in time
I just realised KCD plays like a dream on my Steam Deck, for some reason I never considered playing it on that device given how hard it is to run on my gaming rig... So yeah, just started yet another playthrough on one of the best RPG out there.
👍
Oh man,KCD while on the go is awesome.
I just got it for 3$ and I have been meaning to get it since it came out. Even got all the DLC too
For some reason in the fortress town (before Ratay) I could not open the chest opposite where the shield is it was locked and I had no picks, so lack any decent armor unfortunately. I got the shield, but not the armor alas.
I think the trader hanging out near the outer gatehouse is selling some, but they're expensive at that point.
I beat him at archery. I must have got really lucky, though, because later on, i missed every hare from point blank range, lol.
there is a potion you can buy which increases your skill for some time so you will be more stable. And its kinda easy on PC.
Its kak but also kind of lekker.
At least i dont feel like im playing skyrim again
My advice is make your way to skalitz, pick up the expensive armours of the dead soldiers/bandits/cumans, take them back to sasau and sell, you won’t carry much at first but repeat it a few times until you can afford the cheapest horse, and a saddle with 4 carry bags….then return to skalitz and carry 500% more, you only need to do 4-5 trips on horseback with 4 saddlebags and you’ll have a good 10,000 groschen right at the start….or you can do it as many times as you need….. easy levelling up tricks:
Herbal- pick flowers constantly, pick the strength perk as soon as it appears and strength will level up too, stealth/pickpocket…use padfoot potion and knock out sleeping victims, combat- max out your weapon quickly killing the cows/pigs at sasau…you’ll also level up hunting at the same time.
The chest where you stole the gear wasn't locked? Or you skipped the annoying lockpick system?
Finally checking this game out my biggest problem though is the lockpicking. The mission where you have to look like a guard to leave, i only ended up breaking the law to get kicked out of the town.
True, lockpicking with a controller is pure hell.
3:30 is not true, once you accept the quest from the Bailiff, you can train with Bernard as much as you'd like.
Just started my second playthrough, loved it my first time, but rusty as hell, really good advices buddy, thanks
Thank you, it was much needed
Glad I could help.👍
Every time I replay this game I just spend an in game week at Bernards training until I hit 20 with swords, after you learn master strikes there's no going back
A valid strategy,if one has the patience to do it. At the very least,Master Strikes must be learned before venturing out.
@@ThatOtherGamer I know people get annoyed whenever you say "yeah but it's immersive" but the routine of waking up in the mill and walking up through rattay to practise my swordsmanship everyday feels really in character and doesn't feel like a grind to me
I get what you're saying, routine set of actions can also be fun.
"Wait, what Talmberg quest wants you to steal stuff from guards?"
When you are at Talmberg and want to leave to go bury your parents. If you talk to the gate guard and pass an easy speech check, he'll suggest you disguise yourself as a guard so he can pretend he didn't notice and let you go. You are then prompted to go and steal a Talmberg guard kit from the armoury.
"Also, at what point did you pick up that sword at the 1:18 mark?"
Right after leaving Talmberg and find your way to Skalitz. You'll see the Skalitz bailiff's body near the entrance.
"After you woke up at Pesheks? Isn't that sword in Skalitz?"
No, he means you'll already have the sword by the time you wake up in Pashek's house.
@Cody-qh3os awesome. i've played this game so many times and never came across that dialogue. what an amazing game.
In my opinion, Trojan is a better tier 1 horse than Boxer and you can also get him in Neuhof.
Edit: I realise the reason you chose Boxer is because he's cheaper, but the extra capacity makes it worthy to save a bit more for Trojan imho.
are you trolling? xd....Trojan is a trap....You spend more time in the floor with that horse than riding him.
@@GregorioRicouz How? Were you actually trying to use it in combat or something?
I remember my first and second playthrough where i played the entire game twice not even knowing that master strike existed, i just convinced myself that id never be good enough to win the arena
Yeah, I hoofed it for Capon during the hunt and just thought I was being hazed and asking if I had a horse was just a jab, lmao.
I waited until night, then they were sleeping. Shot them both (and I cannot aim with a bow, at all - not in this game)
Well i had the dog by my side but i send him to the mill because i feared i might lose him on a quest . But now i cant get him back as a companion . Pls help me . Is there a chance to get him back on my side?
Yup you just need to talk to Theresa
I beat Capon but the dialogue said it was a draw and I didn't get his bow.
Thanks to you sir I am not quitting this game and I'm going to use your method! 👍
Just brought 3 day ago and hooked still struggle at perfect block timing but some how managed to beat Capon on my very first playthrough
Just started playing CD. Good video, thanks!
Maan, I had no idea about master moves. I suffered through combats by buffing myself with alchemy potions and trying to rush enemies before they converge on me or try sneak in the camp of enemies and poison the food pot
Yeah it’s crazy, master strikes is THE way to fight. Game is wonky in that way.
I hate the quest where you infiltrate the monastery, I always get caught(I still havent finish it to this day)
Bout to start my first playthrough. Honestly don’t understand anything he’s talking about but still gonna try to apply anything
Bugger I missed out on shard.
It's easy to miss,TBH. I just noticed it during a replay.
So, you make Sir Hans wait for the quest: "the Prey"? Are there bad consequences for doing that?
None. It's not a timed quest.
To be fair, you can make potions without being able to read
I just got done with the plague mission and still haven't gone to learn how to read yet
Took me a minute to figure out the words but I eventually unscrambled it all and figured out what I needed to do lol
First training session with bernard my dumbass chugged 2 moonshines. Was drunk and wobbling about the entire fight 😂
No harm in starting over. The game has a bit of a learning curve at first,so that's okay. Feel free to ask questions here if you have any.
if you want to beat hans capon easily, just faint low then strik the head when he starts blocking. do this 2 or 3 times and you have won.

Seem interesting but i've always have the impression that main quest are limited in time, and i know that some of them are.
Also, It didn't feel right to stop for a week to train when your lord urge to do stuff.
If I recall correctly, can't you steal a horse on the first town after the prologue, by wearing the stolen armor set? Cheaper than buying one! :)
I've spent 20 hours already just around Rattay.. I should probably go learn to read by now
just bought the Royal Edition on PSN for £3.49, ill give these a go!
I stole the villagers ash bow in talmburg and head shot a guard to steal his kit in the beginning
How do you get trained by captain bernard? Im now on mission go to vranik and i still havent ever get my second training with captain bernard
Around 8 in the morning til evening he will be at the training yard right outside the upper castle. You can talk to him about more advanced training and by the end he will teach you master strokes. You can also spar with him early on with training weapons. Sense you don't lose health, you will be able to train for hours on end. Good way to boost your stats and skills and lets you practice new combos, much better than paying for individual lessons for sure, only one I'd recommend is defense, the higher it is the quicker you can block and give you more of a gap for master strokes.
with the archery challange, one or 2 steps to the right and all is easyer
I'm having a difficult time even getting started. I have no money or gear and everything I try ends up getting me sliced open by guards. Threw poop at a house, got away, tried getting money owed Father, and some guard for whatever reason hacks me to pieces causing me to start back before throwing poop again. Can't enter areas, can't win battles, can't seem to figure out what the heck I am supposed to be doing. I appreciate the video but it starts off somewhere unfamiliar so it isn't very useful to newbies like me. I will keep searching for other videos that may cover my issues. 😁
Instead of retrieving the money off the drunk guy at the start, you can just sell food and chickens to afford the coal
Or just pick flowers and sell them
New too this game it's awesome 👌
😎👍
My first play through I had to walk next to capton 😂
Awful, isn't it?😂 Feels nice hearing Henry respond to Hans' "Do you have a horse?" question with a confident yes.
How much does Boxer cost?
Are you Lockmort? you sound just like him, I placed this game ahead of all others I was supposed to play because of his high praise for this game, and now Im watching your video because I already messed up the guard uniform part yesterday. Btw the chest you opened @1:06 how did you opened it? I didnt have any money on me to purchase the lockpick from the trader, I could sell my clothes, come to think of it....
I got it from Fritz back at the prelude Skalitz section. It's from when he needed to get Kunesh's hammer and nails.
@@ThatOtherGamerOh! I helped my friends throw dung at dutchs house and they helped me colect the debt.
Once kunesh refuses to pay his debt, you need to go inside his house and look at the chest first. It will trigger a line from Henry, then talk to Fritz right after the gang talks about their plan regarding deutch's house.
@@ThatOtherGamer Since I had to stop at the end of the tutorial, I am seriously thinking about restarting the game.
Why are you in an echotorium?
I stay up every night playing this game. I love it. My girlfriend hates it.
Same here😅
@thomasvogel8799 I'll be doing a side quest and raiding a bandit camp just to realize I've been playing for 6 hours. So much to do. So little time
Hopefully the fight System gets better
It's the first thing I'll check once I get my hands on the sequel.
I won the tournament against Black Peter and he tracked me down and tried to kill me with a poisoned sword.
Yes,that's part of winning the tourney first time. That's why it's important to learn how to Master Strike before venturing out.
Recommend archery training too you get paid
