Teaching skaters to operate a screwdriver- God's work
dude still cant do it right
@@budman8926hell no, why would a company that sells skateboard accessories sell you screws that would go all the way through the board? Plus the head is what holds things down, you dont have a choice of how far down you sink the screws 😂😂 or youre gonna have a loose ass fit
He was just letting people know to only tighten it so far with a drill than switch to a screwdriver to not strip the threads... not many people understand that concept and probably still don't
Must not know a single skater cause after you get a car & you stop using your dads drill (unless he has a spare) you go buy one and that then replaces the majority of skaters skate tool
I’m a skater and I own a mechanical contractor company
Skateboards, from the store, had rails, nose guards, and a kick guard in the 1980s.
Old school…. I had all that … lol
freestyle boards mostly but yeah
And we rip them of instant 😂
you dont buy good quality boards pre assembled these days. no company has top of the line in every aspect
Personally I've always like to pick and choose every piece of the board. Not a huge fan of someone building a board for me
I love this, being a tech. And watching so many people just not mention little things and you legit showed how to level easier and teaching about how not to strip screws
Creature always had clean looking boards. That shiny with the matte looks so good.
But there isn’t matte on there it’s all shiny it looked like it was matte cause of how the light hit it but the black is also glossy
I only know cause I have the same board rn

Thanks for sharing the screwdriver tip. I've been wondering what these things are for many many years
Its a silly tip. Either need self screwing screws, pre drill a hole or turn the torque up on your drill.
Hes saying you wont overtorque with a screwdriver vs a drill. Which a lot of people dont know
@@binmcbin1890its not a silly tip, 50% of people probably dont even know what torque is nonetheless how to use an impact. So just tell them to use a screwdriver
@@BaneOfV it is silly, if you have a drill you should know how to use a drill rather than finishing your job with a screwdriver lmao. He showed people a slower and harder way, ie, moronic.
@binmcbin1890 no its really not moronic, there are many people not only without drills, but have drills without torque settings. Or they are kids and don't know how to use their dads drill 🤣 telling people to finish screwing off with a screwdriver is absolutely not moronic. It's safe. Especially when it comes to his younger audience. What would be dumb is to expect people to know things, like you do

Ricta Speed Rings and Chrome Clouds, the only wheels I use for all of my boards. Cheers NHS, keep doing what you do 👍‼️
They had those when I started skating in 1988.. sick bro
Right? What will they come up with next for us to take off? Maybe a metal plate on bikes that guards your leg from that dangerous chain or some sort of a tiny generator and light rig that works once!
Reminds me of the attachment you could get for your tail that would send sparks everywhere when you stomped it. Tail Devil I think is the one I remember
Maybe they’ll start putting the bumpers on the front and back again as well.
This man is an imposter, i've never seen a skateboarder with shoes this clean in my life.
If you do strip it, a tooth pick or zip tie in the hole will help the screw bite again
Just bondo it
@@Riffsovdeathwdym?
A rubber band in the hole will work best. Never tried a tooth picc or a zip tie for a stripped screw, it doesn’t even sound feasible lol. Maybe a tooth picc but a zip tie is thicc hard plastic, I don’t even think the screwdriver would be able to fit in the indentation & be able to bite with a zip tie in between… But I’m not a expert & it’s always multiple ways to skin a cat so you could be right
Said youtube shorts ☝️
@@Riffsovdeathwhy on earth would you spend more time, money and effort on bondo when a couple of tooth picks would work perfectly???

What are the rails for?
Not sure if this is true or not but I assume they’re for board slides. When you hop onto a rail or especially a rough surface like a curb, the wood of your deck would be dragging on that surface. You’ve see the drag marks and gashes in the bottom of a skateboard, right? That’s what it’s from.
These provide a super slick super tough plastic surface (probably HDPE, milk jug material) for you to slide on, and I bet those jagged bits help you feel more “locked in” when riding rails since you have a groove to snap into. This also probably extends the life of your deck too, but probably not by much
@@nathanblanchard8897 grew up skating, we never had those, but yeah I could see that.
I had rails on my board in 1986 damn I'm old
Even variflex boards had rails... is this new to this generation?

Shit I still got an original tiny board in basement I mess around on when going back and forth down there. My foot nearly takes up whole thing though lol.
I did tbis back in the late 90s from an old original very board to a world industries deck. Added a lot of weight
what are the rails used for?
Whenever someone dose a trick suck as a rail grind it protects the deck from scratches so your decal stays looking fresh 🔥🤙
it makes it easier to do slides without wax
Most american screws are phillips #2. Always a safe bet as you can use p2 on both p1 and p3 bits.
I am not sure why the Philips became the main screw type in America. maybe you have an idea, being an apparent screw-master :p - The Canadian Robertson is superior in every way. More torque, self entering, and it stops bits easier when tight, where Philips pushes the bit out and causes the stuttering, also makes them easier to strip than Robertson. I wonder why, maybe a pride thing or philips became too integrated too change it... But Roberston is becoming more and more used in the US.
wow you should actually look up the story. search: Robertson Philips The History Guy - very interesting. Basically Robertson was stubborn.
Whoa rails on a board again? Like the classic Powell Peralta boards? Sick!
If there's space in between the rail and the board, the easiest thing to do is press down on the rail while unscrewing the raised area and then once the rail is flush to the board you screw it back in while still holding the rail down
Foam double sided tape between the rails and board helps alot with the rattle and loosening of the rails from skating, also more out for grabs more in for slide to grind combos❤
what a genius idea. i always wondered why people would ruin the beautiful design a skateboard when they grind. this seems like a good way to keep the art looking nice.
I think people like messing up the design as it’s shows you’re actually using it
If you did not know how a power drill work AND a screwdriver! Priceless!

Only thing rattling is the bearings.
It funny, I’ve noticed that a lot of pros don’t have a clue how to take care of bearings. They’ll use the same unlubricated set for years. Unlubricated bearings are faster, and louder, a lot of people like them loud. Lubricated bearings are smoother. If you lube them with very thin oil, they’ll act more like unlubricated bearings. Hill bombing on a hot day with unlubricated bearings can actually melt the damn bearings. I use sewing machine oil on mine. It’s nice and thin, meant for small moving parts. Then I’ll sit there and spin the wheels by hand until they’re broken in. I’ll do the speed test, where you spin all your wheels fast to see which one spins the longest. I do that over and over for like 30 minutes. It makes a huge difference.
Bringing it back to the 80's. Just need a nose and tail guard and some coping on your trucks...

I can't believe those are making a comeback
We drilled those alm the way through in my day.
Drills do have torque settings my friend.
Man I've had those slide guards before and I had to have them installed because they had to drill 4 holes thru the board on each side and on the grip side it was held with what looked like a hallow Allen key but also could've been a rivet and was screwed onto the Allen. Always wanted to get one again and if these screws don't go all the way thru I'm definitely going to buy some and put em on my deck
We used to call them “sex bolts” cause they had a female and male side.
Been out of skating for a long time. Whats the use for these? Help pop out of boardslides?
I think it makes slides smoother and protects your board. But any guess is good as mine. I dont skate

Good Q!
You're not that old school if you don't know rails, these were huge in the mid 80s.
They don't help grinds, since that's on yr trucks (we had plastic clip on "copers"), but you slide a little better than without the rail, they protect your graphics a bit, and easier to grab.
These have grooves to sorta lock you in to your slide.
Pretty sure the drill had a clutch that controls the torque but yeah screwdriver 😂
