Pikmin is probably Nintendo's weirdest original IP. But it's one of the GameCube's greatest games, and teaches us how to let go! Find out more in: Analyzing Nintendo's Weirdest Original Game | Pikmin

Pikmin is a real-time strategy and puzzle video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto, and published by Nintendo. The games focus on directing a horde of plant-like creatures called Pikmin to collect items by destroying obstacles, avoiding hazards, and fighting fauna that are hazardous to both the player character and the Pikmin.

    Hello, all!
It's been a second. I really had the urge to play Pikmin again for the first time since I was a child. I enjoyed it so much that I played it twice and made this video on it. I hope you guys enjoy. This game is super special, and this is a series we should never take for granted.
Have you played Pikmin? Which is your favorite? Let me know down below!

Slught correction: Olimar only has 30 days to live because the planet’s Oxygen is Poisonous to Hocotatians, not because it will run out

Ah, noted! Thank you for the correction!

2:07 He doesn't die from lack of oxygen. Oxygen is toxic to his species ... he dies from oxygen exposure.
(Not that it matters. Just a fun fact.)

This was the best possible year to become a Pikmin fan, let alone be able to say that Pikm1n is one of my favourite games of all time

I think that your review and title sum it up perfectly. It's a game about being willing to lose things, knowing that there's no reason to cry over spilt milk. Sure, these are little lives you command, but they're endlessly faithful and view Olimar as a strong leader, no matter how hard you fuck it up.
I love Pikmin 1, this was a good video, you have a way with words, too. I'm subscribing.

Pikmin is special, I’ve been a fan since I was seven.
The more I come back to Pikmin 1 the more I realize it’s better constructed than its sequels, even though it might not be my favorite
I went into this video expecting more of an analysis on the “learning to let go” side of it, but the broader evaluation of the game’s mechanics is still well done
Pikmin 1 is a game I like to come back to when I just feel kinda worn down. I’m able to consistently get 4 parts every single day, something I had just barely not been able to do for a long time.
Pikmin 2 is a lot messier of a title, I still like it but not for the same reasons as 1. It’s something I come back to when life gets bad, it’s kind of an irritating game to play but by the time I 100% it it feels like I finally have a chance to breathe.
I really hope someday games very directly inspired by Pikmin 1 and 2 get made, there’s a lot of room for their specific flavors to be expanded upon

Pikmin is special! And I'm sorry you were expecting more of an analysis on that. To me, the learning to let go is sort of the underlying feeling that ties all of the features/mechanics/mindset together.
Thank you for sharing your feelings! Interesting that 2 is much messier. I'm excited to get to it at some point! And have you heard of Tinykin? I've heard it's Pikmin inspired. Not sure which game inspired it most, but it looks great!

When I was little and playing Pikmin 3, I would purposely kill all the pikmin I had in the onion. And also got the bad ending of Pikmin 3 on purpose.

LMAO. Sounds like you're the Pikmin worst enemy. Hope it was fun!
