@@wyoplays ignore what people say if you avoid the cities you should be good, the game takes place on the weird sticky outie bit of the state and its really pretty there (source: lives in washington)
The landscapes are beautiful, but avoid Seattle and Tacoma. Redmond and Bellevue are nice, but expensive. Eastern side is more secluded, so you should be fine?
That last bit at the end. The developers knew you would eventualy miss the basket and hit the recycler, but instead of makeing a big deal out of it, they add a hearthwarming moment where teh recycler throws the ball for you into the basket. After playing way to many games where the developers don´t notice or even care, it feels really good to see that.
You mentioned quirks and I nearly screamed. Had a save plagued with a car that had the lights dim every time I would turn the wheel. I've got bad low-light vision and had, many a cuss word thrown at the night time runs.
I had a quirk that horn toggled headlights, and toggled headlights accelerated the car. It was dodgy but kinda useful, until I got stuck in one of those scramble storms in the woods! The horn and headlights were going off an on, promptly slamming the car into the surrounding trees over and over again, destroying it in moments.
I was gonna say, “so it’s like Into The Radius but with a station wagon?” But then I got further into the video. Happy to see my favorite vr game represented. Great video.
I absolutely adore this game, I basically completed the main story in a week, trying to 100% the game, then got to the final mission and realised I had developed an emotional attachment to the characters and my beloved station wagon. I'm gonna finish it soon since the drive your way update and go in again as soon as I build my new PC. Like you, I can stand to play this game with bad graphics.
theres a few different variations I may upload as textless desktop backgrounds. I got tired of all the AI thumbnails for this game so I knew I had to go extra hard for this.
just watched it and holy shit ive been wanting to make a video just like this for ages i also went in completely blind (other than rewatching trailers on repeat) and also got the game day one, i spent many all nighters playing it and loved every second, kinda like how the remnants work in lore lmao amazed how you got the cinamatics for the intro tho since theres no other povs other than first person and no mod support lol, great stuff!^^
Wyo always manages to mix the best music with the best gameplay. For a moment in the intro I thought I was watching a fully greened on air trailer for a movie or something. Your videos and quality are amazing ❤
This game was such a sudden gem for me, I saw a friend playing it, they mentioned what it was. I was sold as a fan of STALKER and SnowRunner; this game was just like my pure unadulterated VIBE. Awesome to see some coverage, and that intro is baller as all get-out. I could practically hear the swears, sweating, and prayers to whatever deity was listening you'd make it home vaguely in a human shaped piece.
Great job on the video! Your channel always has great content. It’s informative, entertaining, and really high-quality. Thanks. Maybe I’ll finally buy the game.
Nice work man, quality content takes time but when it arrives it is timeless. Don't stop sprinting toward success despite the challenges you will face in life.
Beautifully crafted intro, goes hard and made me add the royal blood song to my playlist. About the game: I loved it, solid story, great gameplay and the soundtrack is phenomenal for the setting. My favourite one is Ghost on the Road, it's just perfect for the night time drive, especially with the "you might have to hang behind \ red eyes on the highway" bit. I also recommend the story "Roadside Picnic" that, among other things, was a loose inspiration for this game. Just remember it was written by Russians in the USSR era, so it's way more gritty, upfront and depressing.
This game stuck to me like not much else. You wouldn't think it considering the graphics are not that great, but exploring the zone feels incredible. The atmosphere is mindblowing. Also the story realy took me. Especialy that time the one character saved you (you know if you know) and the end when everything came together and the game tied up all the loose ends.
Sadly, I lost the ball early on in my playthrough. I don't know where it is, and the auto-vac doesn't either. It's gotta be somewhere in the shop though...
@wyoplays Well, I'll be... Honestly though, that is another reason why I love this game so much. There's nobody to hold your hand through the zone, to tell you what to do next. Sure, there's a brief tutorial and the story pushing you deeper into the zone, but other than that, there's nothing. You get thrown into the zone, and you have to learn along the way. Nothing tells you to avoid the things that latch onto the car, not to hit the tourists, or anything else of the type. Scanning anomalies isn't even something you're necessarily told to do. You just have to go in, make mistakes, and learn as you go. It is truly a breath of fresh air sometimes, and is a part of what sucked me into this game so much.
I completely finished 2 play throughs the game and I absolutely want more. More places to explore and more upgrades to get. Hopefully Ironwood will one day will make a DLC campaign when that continues after the main story. It’s definitely been left open for that possibility.
Man... This game was an experience, but I agree. Once you beat it there's little reason to go back to it unless you wanna 100% it. Which is hard when you are on a deathless run (43 on ending run) with default settings and one of the upgrades is locked after scanning a past remnant after dying. Given that they added more difficulty options I may turn some of those up a notch or two soon.
SKIP THIS COMMENT DUE TO SPOILERS: my only complaint with the story is that it doesnt get resolved. the driver never gets to "escape" the zone and you get left behind with Francis after Oppy finally leaves. The story overall is fantastic, the gameplay loop is good enough to make not repetitive. I do wish the main driving point of the story got resolved instead of being left behind for "Stay with me and record the stories this place has to tell" Cliché. Maybe if there was a final mission after resolving your bond with the car to maybe meet Oppy at a special LIM device to get herself as well as the driver outside of the exterior wall to escape the zone.
I don't mind if you're a little late always liked your stuff. More stickers so many stickers stickerbomb the car already! It's a great game I recommend. I would like to see more collectible and usable anomalous parts. I am slightly annoyed that the trailer music isn't in the game though. "Another life" (Jadu Heart) but trailer music rarely ends up in the final game.
I really interested about how people keep missing the Quirks mechanic so much. Quirk station standing in the middle of the garage lightning by all of the rainbow colors, large highlighted quirk indicator on the car analysis display, dedicated branch of upgrades for them in fabricator ans literally tutorial. How u missed all of that??? Did you thought that car disabling lights when you turning on the radio, or all tires popping up when you close the trunk is intended behavior???
Fuck man as much as i want to watch your rewiew on it i want to experience this game my self. I honestly should have expected that this game is right up your alley lol.
@zeniththetoaster9712 Most people wouldn't know or bother to understand the significance of the background of a thumbnail without context of it being spoiled by someone void of fun and whimsy.

Isn't this game just your life IRL at this point?
I havent been to Washington yet, though I have found plenty of things on the road so far Id consider anomalous, so were at least 50% of the way there.
If you go to Washington look out for the crackhead anomally and the fentanil vortex.

I had that quirk. Took me ages to realise it wasn't just the headlights ambiently flickering.
I had a quirk that horn toggled headlights, and toggled headlights accelerated the car. It was dodgy but kinda useful, until I got stuck in one of those scramble storms in the woods! In Pacific Drive, you are the anomaly, and the events around you are just the world responding to and rejecting your presence.
Time to drive car scp again
13:38 I’ve had tourists throw a full set of summer tires at me in the deep zone. I didn’t need them, but was thankful nonetheless.

i agree with that brother, i've played it twice, and i see lot of plot holes after another play through of it
I can confirm the Tourists throwing stuff at me. I got a LIM Anchor one time and a plasma scrapper another time. Where do they find that stuff?
