Man, I remember the early days of your channel, and you’ve come along way with the mixes your doing now. You are really writing some awesome stuff, and adding some great lead lines over top. I love the tones your getting now a days, and you have some really interesting phrasing that sets of those riffs. Great stuff man! You’re channel is unique, and you really have a style no one else does. It sets you apart from everyone else doing demos.
Thank you very much I like to stick out from the crowd, the same old generic blues/shredding demos got very lame and boring in the early days of UA-cam 😄 glad you're liking my sound and style, it's the way I was when I was writing music in the bands I played in 🤘🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto This shweeeeet axe definitely have heart of Gibson. If i would buy SG I probably would go with some Epi or Vintage. Love the looks of Vintage VS6 in vintage white. ( I just came home from work sorry if I misunderstood your comment, 've got pretty shitty and tough day and it's quite late too)
That is an interesting guitar, I could imagine this SG to be used for Red Hot Chili Peppers or Hendrix music, not the usualy Gibson/Epi style :) Good alternative to Mustang I would say. Like it. Thanks for sharing!
Just bought a mint condition used 2021 epi sg p90 for 200 bucks. I own a gibson sg too and can honestly say that i prefer playing the epiphone even more. Was pleasantly surprised just how nice of a guitar this really is Would highly recommend it to anyone
Being a huge Pete Townshend and Robby Krieger fan I bought this model the last time they did it back in 2011. It played and sounded just fine, the only problem was the wraparound-bridge which was made of such a soft material the strings cut right into it after a couple of days.
Just scored a mint one of these on eBay for 145 quid!! So yeah.. it can suffer from Epiphone quirks all day because for that money I can afford to fix the issues 👍
It was sitting at 175 which was a deal at that but nobody bid on it so I made a lower offer and they took it 👍 I have seen some issues with these rigs.. bridge posts coming loose, tuners being guff.. hopefully this ones is fine but I have the skills if I need to fix it… there’s a guy on UA-cam that changed his frets over to stainless steel.. looked a pretty good mod 👍
I wanted 1 of these .. but insted went for a cheap alternative .. Harley Benton SC450 GT P-90 ... but .. its gotten abit of a facelift. (might be posting it shortly)
Just ordered one, my first P90 guitar. I always sand the neck down with 1000+ to get the gloss off. Was thinking about installing the Floyd FRX tremolo on this. This will be my only SG with an output jack on the face.
I have 3 Epiphone SG's: a modded SG Muse (put a DiMarzio copy in the bridge), a modded mid-2000's SG Special (with a real DiMarzio in the bridge), and a modified G400 Pro SG (Seymour Duncan pickups, upgraded hardware, solderless wiring harness). They play just as nice as ANY Gibson I've played. The only reason Gibsons are so expensive is because of that brand name. On the Epiphones, the wood is the same, hardware is the same quality, and you can upgrade whatever you want. You get a $400 SG, pay $200 or so to upgrade everything, and have the same quality as Gibson's 'Custom Shop'.
@@theguitarmanifesto Well, for me, personally, I do a lot of high gain stuff (especially the Boston stuff I do). So, I need a hotter set of pickups for that. Plus, I know what works for me. The 2 new Epiphones I've gotten in the past 6 months that don't need upgrading are the Les Paul Modern and the Les Paul 60s Standard. They're perfect the way they are. 😁
Don't all SG style guitars neck dive? When I was younger, I wanted one so badly, because of The Who 'Live at Leeds'. But every one I tried just felt so unbalanced, so I stuck with my Strat...
As a non-fan of p90s, I have to admit they are pretty impressive here in an Epiphone. That high-gloss cherry red finish is gorgeous, really suits it. PS: That Fender Strat of mine? I'm currently thinking bugger it. I'd love to fix it but have no clue how to do it right. If you're looking for another project guitar video and are interested in giving it some upgrades, I'd be up for seeing it in your hands. Can that be arranged?
P-90s kick ass awesome pickups and these are as good as any I've used before. Personally I reckon completely replace all the electrics on your strat, stick a whole new wiring loom in something like this...www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stratocaster-Strat-wiring-harness-loom-CTS-Oak-orange-drop-Switchcraft-/222891488384?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 Where in the UK are you?
@@theguitarmanifesto North Humberside area, small town next door to Hull called Beverley. I think it'd be best to say exactly where through gmail. Interesting. I tried to wire in a pre-loaded pickguard once but didn't know how to do it properly. I didn't know what goes where. I don't exactly have a lot of money to spare, which is why I'm trying to sell off some of my instruments to afford it. I'd be more comfortable with either a pro or an experienced guitar tech working on it to minimise any faults. There are a bunch of marking in the guitar's body which also might tell you a thing or two about it, but I don't really know.
Too far from me, it would be your best option fitting a full loom as you will have no end of issues in the future. Best to start from scratch with a good quality loom.
@@theguitarmanifesto they sure are: I couldn't resist having a quick peek at eBay - sadly, there's only one used at the moment in the UK, and they want £300.00 for it! Obviously everyone who's watched your video has gone looking for one - I think that officially makes you an influencer!
Very nice SG Manifesto sounds great!! I'd say the bridge is my favorite pickup ain't nothing thin about it..I never cared to have p90 pickups in a guitar but since I bought a guitar with them I can't live without them "😂" what a great set of pickups they are.. Great find with the upgrades on the Guitar you can't beat that period what a deal Manifesto!!
I really love your videos and reviews on guitars. The only problem I have is you play music in the background when you're testing the guitarist out I want to hear the guitar and not the music in the background.

Don't forget Carlos Sntana, Woodstock.
This feels like the closest way to get an affordable version of the Iommi SG
Love that tone, really great quality for the price. Might have to get one for sure :)
Them pickups have so much bite 🎸👌
I love this one. I really like the green one with the larger pick guard and p90s too
Very cool guitars 🎸😎
Great review as always, you've convinced me to buy one 👍
It's gets expensive on this channel 🤣
Rich aesthetics and pick ups, overall a great guitar. But I'm curious, how does it fare with a more AC/DC sound?
It's a more biting sound
Shit! Definitely worth every single penny! Here I go again trying to convince myself that I don't need another guitar ://
Convince me it's not a Gibson

I agree I wouldn't pay Gibson money when there are some on par guitars about 🎸🤘 ah work sucks
Go for it! 👍
This guitar slipped away from me today. I could have got it for 200 bucks! But someone else was minutes before me.
Dang 😓
Any intonation issues on a guitar like this without adjustable saddles etc??
Not really no it's pretty bang on.
pretty schweeet
It's a fine looking axe
Brilliant guitar for Post Hardcore bands like Fugazi, At The Drive -In, Hum, Helmet or Quicksand
