Great content as always Ben! Renegades will probobly be one of the most played teams on BB3, since it's a slow brew team and perfect for the online enviroment. I think one thing you missed is Monstrous Mouth for the skaven. It doesn't have A access on a primary like the dark elf, even if MM is better for the elf as well. Having the Sure Hands protection and catch in a single skill will be great for ball carriers and if you got it on both you can do some really cheeky stretch plays. Just a shame the linemen got nerfed, no more S and P skills on primary, no longer P access at all!

The main use for an orc on a Chaos Renegade team is to get punched by you rat ogre when you roll a 1 on animal savagery or if you have a troll, remember him that there's match running around him. He does well on the scrimmage line, he is usefull to help your big guys not lose actions and sometimes even can punch some rival players. IMO, a must on every starting team.
My last league (bb2016 ruleset) wasn't that long, but I loved mutating my linemen to specific roles... the MVP was a lineman with prehensile tale and tackle, really caused a head ache for the AG teams when you positioned him right... Lucked out with an AG4 gobbo, went for a meme dark elf with block horns and leap though. Great fun all round!
Very tough choices! I think I'm personally going to focus on defense first. Make my DE a sacker and my skaven a safety. And hope the scoring comes natural to my higher agility players. I'm picking troll and ogre as my first 2 hbu?

This is the team that I’m most excited to try once BB3 has been released...love the idea of having a team which has an answer for every question and this feels like it can really do that. Cheers for the video and I hope once the games released, there’s a league I can join into 😁

@@BoneheadPodcast gave it a test run with troll, ogre and mino. 1 of each of the positionals and 2RR. got the first TD vs new Black orc team, but they came back with a few casualties and won the match 3-1. BB2020 is fun. lots of new versions kick off events didn't make it completely one sided (we had pitch invasion and perfect defense as well as cheering fans). plus the greebo Renegades look really nice. just need to get some paint on them between hot days (here in Australia)
Stupid question ... I'm new to the hobby and can't seem to find a team pack for this team. Do you buy the other packs and just create it yourself? Sorry if this is silly to ask
Hey Emily! Ohhhhh that's the wonderful thing about Chaos Renegades - it's build-your-own!! I totally recommend picking up a Human box for the Linemen (and Thrower), and then it's off to the bitz box / local club / spares swaps for the rest!! You'll end up with a team that looks a lot different than others 😀😀
For the goblin, taking dauntless in addition of horns will be useless most of the time: the horns modifier applies befre any other ST modifier, so blitzing against a ST3 player will be a 1D anyway I wish other teams that rats and chaos had access to mutations: they are the most interesting skills but I don't like the aesthetic of teams with it...
Chaos Wastes League. All teams get M access on Secondary. Players with Secondary M already get them on a Primary. Players with Primary get a random mutation when they're hired. And chaos ensues!!
What's your opinion on yearly awards at the end of each season Ben? So after season 1 you have offensive and defensive awards and after season 2 you also have rookie offensive and defensive awards. So 4 total. 3 spp for rookie awards 5 for normal?
Oh I like this! I think a full MVP (4SPP) would be fine! The question though... how do you decide the winner!? We've mulled over a spreadsheet (you know me...) calculating recorded success vs statistical likelihood, e.g. a PA3+ would earn more COM points than a PA2+, etc. But I think extra little boosts like this are a cool way to build up character to any team!
Years before on FUMBBL, I was taking random mutations on linemen voluntarily. It's very Tzeench. I'm delighted there's finally a SPP discount for that. I played them a lot on tabletop for BB2016 rules. I turned them into a super solid defensive team that didn't rely on rerolls. The Ogre and Troll often didn't do anything apart from move. They did tend to lack a cutting edge especially if the Mino got taken out, and the Rat Ogre provides that insurance. I can see the Orc or Goblin being its constant companion. I disagree that Safe Pair of Hands is worse than Dump-Off - it's guaranteed, no fumble - it also doesn't need an Animosity roll. It's a very rugby skill, that nullifies Wardancer cage busting which relies on the scatter. The biggest nerf is loss of Guard on linemen, but that just encourages mutations. The biggest pity about mutations is they so often came on players with Strength access; there was no incentive to really lean in to them. I'm curious to know how this team compares with Khorne - slightly less aggressive, but more resilient.
Coming back to this video, and seeing my old comment, there's another option for the thrower: Pro. Now definitely worth it at 3+. Helps with pickups, failed Animosity rolls, dodges, and even blocks. Throwers always end up becoming backfield safeties so they will end up in a scrap at some point.

Call me traditionalist but I’m planning to give pretty much everyone in my team Block + Guard with the exception of the Elf, Goblin and Skaven which will have 2 Heads and/or Sure Hands. How cool would a 2 headed elf be?
Hahaha; I’m not that patient either but I can plan (dream). Also, I’ve been thinking about a Goblin with 2 heads and sneaky git, moving around fouling every turn; ever tried this?
And now that I think about it; a safety Skaven with block and horns... sounds too good not to try it. Specially since the Elf and thrower are usually the ball carriers.
Ah the Minotaur, one of my least favourite players in the game. He's usually just a worthless low armour player flailing on the floor waiting to be removed from the game, rarely, if ever, worth the ludicrous 150000. Except in this team. In this team he is the dedicated Blitzer, the only downside is that the opponent knows who is going to blitz every turn. The Troll who is going to vomit every single turn and the Ogre who might actually do something useful (like a throw the gobbo for a one turn TD) mean that the Minotaur isn't the only meaty target. Juggernaut is a great choice, the next best thing to Block, but Break tackle is a very nice idea, making the most of the player's strengths in an unexpected way. It's just a pity that it won't survive to earn 12 SPP :D All in all, Renegades is a great team to develop, making each team a band of perfect misfits
I so so badly want to like this team, but every time I have tested them in 2016, Nuffle takes his leave of me. I think I'll end up mostly going UW & OWA and just find somebody else's renegade team to cheer for on the sidelines.

Yeah, that's a great point, I guess it depends on the league length! Online - sure, wait for 6SPP, but on TT in a 8 game league - how many TDs are your linemen going to get! Do you gamble on the random, or save? It's a great conundrum!! :D
Another fab vid! Suggestions: Fumblerooskie would be a good choice for the Thrower to overcome Animosity. But he's a poor piece. Monstrous Mouth is perfect for the Skaven for the Catch+anti-Strip Ball Minotaur is gonna be a "reliable" blitzer when needed because of Animal Savagery

Disagree with your take on the thrower. Get him accurate and he can be passing the ball to the D Elf or the Skaven and really move the ball. Sure there's animosity but there's no way around that.

For rat-ogre it could be cool also "arm bar" and "tentacles". With his tails it will be very hard to run away

We had a Renegades team top our 40 coach tournament last year!!
Less total positionals than OWA - and probably easier to develop (once you've got a few skills a least!)
Much better team than old world alliance overall imo despite the lack of rostered block and block adjacent skills.
It's an awesome blank canvas!!!
OWA vs Renegades needs to happen once Lockdown is over!
The Ogre is MA5 not MA4 as covered on page 110 of the rule book. Tut-tut Ben.
