The best part about watching this show is it wouldn’t start with the theme. The drama bits would start first, they’d set up some storyline, and just when the tension would build and you needed a hero to fix things, that bass drum would start pumping. ❤ It was like prince Adam becoming He-Man. 😂
I absolutely love this show especially the late 70's and early 80's vibe. I'm in my mid 20's and was born in raised in Culver City. I noticed in a couple episodes I can tell they filmed some scenes in Culver City but a lot of has changed since then. CHiPs is the perfect example of what life was like in the late 70's and early 80's.

The music back then was great and all the TV show theme songs were magnificent. We all took it for granted back then. Nobody knew it was history in the making! All those TV theme melodies from the mid 70's to mid 80's.., something great was happening that only happens once in a lifetime!

I could have sworn there was a version without the synthesizer bits during the first season, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Not that I mind that part, I just think it was better without it.
Even John Parkers original, more jazzy and swingy (and IMHO inferiour) arrangement from season one had that synthesizer sting. That was indeed carried over into Silvestris Disco arrangement.
