  • In this video I cut a sign on the CNC Router using King Color Core. It is a three layer HDPE plastic material that renders instant color contrast after engraving past the top layer. The CNC machine is made by CNC Router Parts.

    Freddy thanks again sir! I'm absolutely blown away at how great this sign is. I was shocked by how heavy duty and high quality it is. You are the man and I appreciate you taking the time to make it for me!

    We used to use that kind of material to make nameplates for panel devices when I was at the steel mill.

    Just bought my first piece of King Color Core. Do I need special bits for carving the plastic?

    It looks fantastic...perfect answer to signage I think... what thickness HDPE was it ? and would you say that kind of thickness would be suitable for most signs outdoors ?
    Also ..if you wanted to do both sides for a hanging sign would you just turn it over in the same spot and repeat ? sorry if thats a stupid question but I have no experience with cnc routers etc.
    Struggling to find this HDPE sheeting in the UK.... how much does it cost per sheet if you dont mind me asking...just so I can compare prices should I have to buy it in.
    It really does look great though ...excellent job !! Just Subscribed

    Hey finally a cnc video! Hey when doing small jobs like this do you create the file or do you want customers to send you a file?

    • @GotItMade
      @GotItMade  6 років тому

      Haha. Yep. :-). I can create the file but things go easier and cheaper when I can be provided a vector file to start with.

      blazingnailgun ok. I told you before but I just built a 32x48 shop at my house and was wanting a sign that said "Rockys Shop est 2017" but I have no design skill haha.

      I'm sorry Rocky. I am too absent minded and overwhelmed sometimes. I have some of that color core in red/white/red. It's 3/4" and would make a nice sign and suitable for outdoors. How big? Just send me an email and we can talk about it. fred@redneckdiy.com

    Perfect timing Fred. I just ordered some small pieces from inventables to experiment with. A couple of questions: did use use O flute bits or spiral upcuts/downcuts and can you tell us where you source the big sheets of king color core from? As always...thanks for the great video!

    • @GotItMade
      @GotItMade  6 років тому +1

      Seems like I used a two flute spiral upcut. Send me an email and I'll get you the exact number I used. I buy it from Piedmont Plastics in Knoxville.
