  • The duet between Lucrezia Borgia and Gennaro, act I.
This one with Montserrat Caballé is to me, one of the most stunning moments in the history of Opera.

CABALLE= PASSION, ENERGY, PASSION, ENERGY .... she holds the final sharp sound, with all his energy. With all the risk and courage. with adrenaline.. bravísima

Absolutely magnificent! I only discovered this after listening to the Sutherland/Kraus version. Joan was older when she sang her duet, but equally as exciting. It's too bad the soprano voices today just don't seem to provide the same thrill as these two do.

I know!! But amazing, overwhelming, beautiful, wonderful etc.. none of these words would still be enough to describe it!
I've not been able to stop listening to it since I dug it out to post it on Coloraturafan's video.. it's so addictive!! I would rate it 500 stars but I can't even give it 5 sloppy stars since it's my own video lol

I must say I'm shocked and ashamed this video has only 257 views!

Yes I managed to get a look at my staff, should be Carnegie Hall 1965, Alain Vanzo.

From which album? Discography lists only 3...
2 pirates (NY, Legato CD; Milan, Myto CD) and 1
studio (Rome, RCA.) This sounds too good to be
    a 'pirate.'

can't really answer that atm as i have my cds stored away due to some sorta home accident..
and i forgot to add the details when I ripped the cd.. I also have the RCA studio recording, easier to spot the difference as there's no clapping there :)
