I am so impressed with the clarity of this young man’s cello. One of the finest renditions of Bach’s 6th suite. You can enjoy every note of Mr. Crawford’s playing. Thank you.
If you're looking for a version of this piece to practice off of, you're search has come to an end my friend. Crawford performs this with pheonominal precision. Every note speaks for itself. The tempo is swift.
Very nice; one of the few young performers who avoided the "romanticization" and personalization, trends which are so common today (sadly, initiated by Casals).
The Prélude has all the drive and continuity of a toccata, but it never for a moment sounds mechanical.... With a technique like his, who needs an E-string? And as for the Allemande (not mentioned in the video's title, but it's there nonetheless), the tempo is perfectly judged: the ornamental writing has time to sing, but things never bog down. Bravissimo!

Refreshing to observe such complete absorption in the music. It was like being allowed into a private communion between composer and performer.
The Cho performance is much more warm and gentle. This one is very robust and energetic. Both are pleasing for different types days. :)
I love these bursts of music played with great clarity and panache. Every success to you, John-Henry.
Astonishing, pure and clean, perfect!!!
Straight to bookmarks. Best I've found so far.

I mean he is a julliard grad so he automatically gains the "I see no God up here but me" status everywhere he goes.
Wonderful performance, it's one of the best interpretation of suite 6 in my opinion.
Wow, bravíssimo!

The best version I've seen online.
voila une très belle interprétation, du niveau de Missha Maisky ou Yo Yo Ma. Un grand bravo ! P Mosnier
Incredible performance. Also, thank you for the fingerings lol
Certifié intergalactique!
That was better than Ma's recording.
I don't know whether to say that he is the new Starker, or that Starker was the previous Crawford.
Got any frangoli?
Was your left index finger injured? Great sound!
Is that a piccolo cello? It looks like there are 5 strings.
Playing a 5-string melody on a standard cello... my congratulations
We as viewers will never know what the hell actually happened
