    I was going to say it looks like a great consistency considering how cold it is outside. Nothing worse than a super thick hard to move Poly or a super soft Poly for that matter. The colors are also quite beautiful :)

    you're the first one talking about the cracking. (Y) always thought i was too stupid to do it right. :) when doing longer nails with polygel, i've always noticed small crack on the side of the stresspoint-area after some time. they looked like cracklepolish. but it isn't the polygel cracking, it's the topcoat (no matter which one i use). never had this with buildergel nails.

    Thank you for building with paper forms 🙏 I've seen so many use the plastic weird... Ready made things, I'm used to more builders but have been interested in polygels lately, cause doing just a nail on top of my own

      I don’t like the dual form look either . Those don’t fit a lot of people correctly .... especially me . I find that dual forms won’t give people the correct structure to prevent breakage . They can be used as a tip .... then you file and add more product on top to get the correct structure . I have some awesome new tip dual forms coming in and can’t wait to show everyone .

    Gorgeous colour Denise it looks so natural, I love working with gel it’s so beautiful to look at once cured, I love how you work with gel and the shape you do your nails, yes your right sometimes it doesn’t cure underneath so a little more curing does it, the lamp I’m using now is a sun Xplus 72 watt lamp it’s amazing I bought it last year from eBay

    Yes I agree I used polygel with a duel form and the nail broke at the stress area. And I used a lot of product so it’s not like I didn’t use enough product. I wonder if I use a builder in a bottle over the finished nail for added strength would it make a difference🤔

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  2 роки тому +5

      Yes , it definitely will . Build the nail with polygel and a dual form . Pop it off , then build structure and the apex with more polygel or builder gel .

      Thank you very much ❤️
      All polygels are slightly different in consistency . Some more firm , some more soft . It’s just preference. A nail has to be built correctly to last . It has to have the correct thickness and the apex needs to be placed in the correct location on the nail . The majority of the time the product is good , it’s the errors made by the tech or person creating the nail . There is also a correct way to prep the nail as well . To soften firm polygel , put the tube in a warm to hot cup of water . To firm up soft polygel , put it in the refrigerator over night before using .

I've tried on and off for over a year and it's been kind of rough and discouraging. when I started it took me 8 yes EIGHT hours to complete a full set. last time I did it I was down to about 2 1/2 hours but they lifted after only a week. it takes so freaking long and the time I spend just doesn't seem worth it. so so frustrating. :(

      @@cheesypotatoluv how are you doing now? I finally used my kit and it was a total fail and I got through only a few fingers before i gave up! And it was BS because I spent a few hours just prepping to make sure I was doing it all right before I even played the gel down! So I put it away for a couple months and then tried again the other day, on my feet lol. I am actually happy with the feet but it took me hours too. I did my hands and they're not great but it took me HOURS as well, just like you! Have you improved on your time at all? Do you have an efile? I think I'm gonna buy tips and paper forms soon because even though my dual forms fit, once the gel is applied the nail is too small lol.

      I do not recommend dual forms . I’m not a fan of those . Only if you file the nail after you put it on with a dual form .... then apply another layer on top for structure and strength . Still I do not like or use dual forms . A glue on nail tip is better than those .

      . Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed Yeah I did use the dual forms, I shouldn’t say popping off more like snapping at the apex which I know means I need to make thicker but then I get either the bubbles or the tip is a thick mess. I figured your the dual form would be easier than free handing with a tip or nail form but I think I should try that instead.

      Yes , you can build over polygel once cured . Polygel leaves a tacky layer behind . But if you have cleaned and filed it , you must again add a base , then you can build . Same goes for builder .... but if your builder is a one phase gel , ( base is in the builder gel ) then you won’t need a base . I use a one phase builder gel .

    Do you find that with working with so much slip solution, and the brush being so wet that you get lifting?

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  5 років тому

      No , not at all . I don’t have lifting . When you have never worked with a brand , or worked very little with a brand ...... it takes time to get it down how much alcohol or slip solution to use . Every brand of polygel is different . That’s why it’s good to find a brand you like that you can work with and stick with it . That way a person can figure out and get used to the amount of slip they need to use . I test out a lot of polygels , so finding a correct ratio of slip or alcohol can be a little challenging . I’m thinking that possibly you are using too thin of layers of your polygel ..... or your prep work is not up to par .

    • @desireegeorge889

    @NailsbyGGRNVLE 5 років тому +3

    A lot of us use a thin layer of clear first to create a form before the actual application and then you have a base to work on and some built in strength, then cap in clear. Just another way to do it cause forms aren’t really made for polygel products and then you can build out a long nail.

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  5 років тому +4

      That’s not true . I don’t know who told you that or why you assume that . That’s false information . Polygel is made for all applications . Whether using a glue on tip or a paper form . You don’t need to make a platform before applying polygel . You are wasting time . Polygel , can be sculpted all by itself .... and it will stay strong as long as it’s built correctly . I learned from first hand experience on getting the correct structure . I mean , if you are sculpting extremely extremely long nails , then a platform will be helpful . Polygel is not a new product . It’s been here forever . Nail techs have been making it on their own since gel arrived on the scene . It just that now it is marketed and sold .
