If you look at the shape of your shadow under moonlight, it stretches out in the same way as the Kiasyd figure stretches out a human shape. They also have a reflection. My theory is that the experimenters of whom Marconius was one were seeking to restore the Lasombra's lost reflection. I have no evidence for this (except that a Kiasyd has a reflection), but I think it's an interesting idea :)
I know this is an old video but I would like to say that Mr. Dawkins presentation of the Kiasyd in Lore of the Bloodlines is without a doubt the best write up for this mysterious Bloodline. If you didn't dig the Kiasyd before you may change your mind.
The Flambeau seem an odd duck for giving vampires anything fey related, given their focus on fire and combat magic. House Merinita has close ties to the fey, infact for some time they studied magic from the fey as opposed to hermetic tradition. I am not saying it wasn't Flambeau, but they seem the least likely to be involved in this. At any rate, Excellent video.
I was hoping that you might cover the Vampires of the East, the Kuei-Jin. Always have wanted to see you do a video on them Excellent work on these videos.
Some of it I got from the Guide to the Sabbat, some from Libellus Sanguinus, some from Encyclopaedia Vampirica, some from Vampire: The Eternal Struggle and some I just plain made up. Or did I?
Nice. I always dug the Kiasyd, but have only used one (as an npc) once. It was Beatrice L'Anjou I believe, consort to Archbishop Alfred Benezri of Montreal by Night. Good book that was...good post as well. Have you done the Followers of Set/Serpents of Light yet? That'd be pretty awesome, they were amongst my favorites.
If you've ever seen the Phantasm movies, you should have a good mental image for the Kiasyd. Also, an alternate origin is presented in Dark Ages 20 - when a Latent Changeling gets embraced they become Kiasyd, replacing a clan discipline with mythleceria.
Now that faerie ability is perculiar to say the least but what disturbs me even more about the kiasyd is that while the Lasombra had them locked up for all those centuries, in secret, with no possible contact to the Giovanni or the Nagaraja or any other clan for that matter, some of them developed necromancy. Now how did that happen? Marconius himself claims he was visited in his prison by an ancient Germanic death god, but surely that can't be right... can it?
If you plan on also doing the Nagaraja, look up Tradition Book: Euthanatos (if you haven't already, that is) for information about the origins of those vile fleshmongers we all love.
Where did you read that version of the Kiasyd creation tale? I never heard the version they had been imprisioned by the lasombra. Acording to dark ages and changelling lore, the mytherceria thing was learned by marconious after he was taken to the unseelie courts and went missing until Strasbourg takeover (former camarilla city). The older lasombra assumed he was dead after his banishment. The conspiracy tales are always lovelly ^^ haha
I have always liked the kiasyd of the inconnu. They are much like me, just wanting to be left alone to study and be at peace. They are probably what I would become if given the opportunity to become a vampire. But I wouldn't flay people I would just drink blood bought from blood banks.
My favorite bloodline, love the info. If you got links to any of the info you've given I'd love it if you could pass them to me. I'd like to keep them for reference, for the future. And it's nice to see someone do this bloodline and who knows about them!
I was listening to your clan series to listen to a different point of view on clans but when It came to Kiasyd which were my favourite bloodline. I have read everything I could find about them. What are your sources you have read about them? All the fluff I have read tells completely different story of Marconius and shows much different view of this bloodline.
Forge iron at a lower than normal temperature, pour them into moulds of tiny little ball bearings and load them into shotgun shells and boom; cold Iron shotgun rounds.
I keep my sources secret. They wouldn't want to be blamed for breaching the Masquerade. Libellus Sanguinus, the Guide to the Sabbat and Encyclopaedia Vampirica are global sources of such information however.
My bad to Necro an old video but I came across it doing some prep for a character and really enjoyed it. Quick question if you dont mind, do you think the Kiasyd are removed enough from the Lasombra that they wouldn't be called to Gehenna by the Lasombra Antediluvian?
It seams to me that real masters of the world in WOD, are far to be the vampires. Those mages have far more power and knowledge in everything, so it seams. Although i dont understand why this mages that even controls the rise of new technology in the world, didnt get rid of all kindreds and garou alike.Seams to me that even the antideluvians and caine himself cannot match the powers of those mages since they even can change reality.
The Kyasid in our campaign is known as The Nude Slenderman. ..let's put it this way, at some point, a rocket launcher, a group of mercenaries, and nudity was involved.
I'd actually have Slendy appear as a True Fae. Have the party investigate the child abductions and find out it is a fae then proceed to kick Slenderman's ass
I am a sanguine vampire /hybrid I am always around my surroundings all times and one of original hybrids and also I am the champion of the night I represent my father Demuel the wolf demon
@@TheGentlemanGamer It's a good story. Do not let me tell you otherwise, & if you mistook it for me telling you that; Please, let me apologize. I just have a different version of the story. I do like how they are classed in your story. I know they have always been classified as weirdlings, but they have also had other strange names that they were called. That is why I like them so. Also, the book I have they didn't have many soldiers, they were scholars, ONLY scholars unless they were at war with the Lasombra or the fae with how entirely boring the fae found them. Soldiers were a rare breed in the Kiasyd race and they, themselves usually went the scholarly route when their job was done even though most died during the war times. They are a brilliant race. With the help of the blood of a devil, a Lasombra (Marconius), & a fae they created the Kiasyd. Though I am sure you have read most of the books on them.
@@sharati6419 No need to apologise at all! And yep, I've read all the Vampire: The Masquerade books, which is one of the reasons I'm now the developer for Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition :)
At the same time, according to my own sources, the famed Kiasyd Bartholomew is a quite benevolent one, on good terms with the Garou and fae of the lands he inhabits? Even described as a pacifist, unless he himself is threatened? I doubt he too is the type to skin virgins for food. Especially given his relations and general attitude. A biased portrayal then, here? Propaganda, intent on demonizing the weirdlings? Maybe. Maybe not. But the truth is, in my eyes, more complicated than the Kiasyd being mere nightmarish monsters.

Splendid explanation mate, these videos really makes it alot easyer to get a overview on the vampire clans i havent got the clan books for.
one of your best Clan Guides so far. love it.

It's damned refreshing to hear someone pronounce "Vitae" correctly.

This is scary... And well done. You knew exectly what you were doing ;-)
More than I can count on one hand.
Thank you!
I may do, but they have less metaplot surrounding them, therefore the histories may be more difficult.
Can I get a promise that you will upload more awesome videos?
Thanks!
Rare, but not unknown.

Indeed!
That just opens up even more questions!
You know, I'm beginning to think you keep doing that on purpose.

You know, I have noticed the resurgence of the Slenderman internet meme of late. Surely not Kiasyd.
Surely.
I'm glad!

They'll get their video too.
They'll be covered.
Now I can't help to think that Bruce Payne is Kiasyd.
Bear in mind that all I say is merely conjecture. It may well be that the Merinita are more likely.
They'll come from time to time.
Of course!
Ha! Thank you!
At some point, I may well do. I don't consider myself an expert with the Garou however.
Have you considered doing a series of this nature for werewolf tribes?
Does there happen to be more lore on strasbourg to be found somewhere ? It being my hometown, I'd love to included official lore in my stories :) !
never even heard of this Clan
There will be one at some point, I can assure you.
What do you think about Camarilla Kiasyd, or just politically interested Kiasyd? A rare sight?
Good spot.
Perhaps you should contact Beckett?
please make a nagaraja clan video :(
There's a big ask... Maybe.
Is there a chance you might also deal with the clans of Vampire - The Requiem?
At some point, yes.
I doubt they'll be in it at first.

one question:which clan does the sheriff from bloodlines videogame belongs to?
Give me time and I will.
It's a possibility.
He is most likely a Nagloper - a Tzimisce bloodline from the African continent.

Unless said German death god was a Cappadocian recently out of torpor.
any chance you will you being making a video on the harbinger of skulls?
30 Days of Night comes to mind...
The black eyes certainly encourage that perception, but Kiasyd are not that ugly. Maybe the vamps from 30DoN could be a coterie of Sabbat Nosferatu.
I'd actually have Slendy appear as a True Fae. Have the party investigate the child abductions and find out it is a fae then proceed to kick Slenderman's ass

I'm a turtle.
fablan6 I like Turtles.
Especially the first DnD movie.
What edition are you reading from? The book I have tells me that the Lasombra killed all of the Kiasyd, except for Marconius as a punishment of sorts.
V20, and I wrote the Kiasyd for that edition.

I take full credit for this. I'm the one who asked about them after all. My lawyers will be in touch ;D
Didn't Mythceria used to summon Oompa Loompas? Hrrmm, was Willy Wonka a Kiasyd? Not being serious, btw. But i request a video on the Bushi.

Skinning virgins is controversial.
Fruity.
I pronounce everything correctly.
Oh right, sorry, misunderstood.
A kitteh! Squee! X3
The kisyad are a fun bloodline, though admitably their unique discipline is stupid IMO. Good video nonetheless :)
