Love these interviews with Rick. As someone else said, much prefer his interviews to Rossi's (who continually loses his thread). Rick seems such a warm, cheerful guy and loves sharing his memories of the Quo years. Priceless anecdotes.
One of the most underrated guitarists of all time .. always played with so much energy much like Malcom Young. Have seen Quo since he passed just not the same ..
These interviews with Rick are just gold. He was such a lovely man. He answers with such honesty and warmth. Francis Rossi when interviewed though just as interesting is always much more defensive and slightly edgy and harder to really know. Using funny asides to deflect from revealing too much about himself. I imagine he misses the 'Double Act' with his friend to make interviews easier.
Alan and rick had heavy raw voices in early 1970... and in 1972 in Pilediver they made the rock music living vs their strong voices. Boggie to the bone
