  • Do you struggle to commit to throwing swimbaits? Let this inspire you! Come along for a day on Beautiful Lake Chickamauga as Tim commits to the big bait and is rewarded with a monster bite! This isn't a numbers day, its all about catching a big bass!
We all want to catch a giant bass but few anglers are unwilling to do what it takes, even for a few hours. Specifically targeting trophy bass requires a different mindset and approach than a typical day on the water. On this day Tim headed out on Lake Chickamauga with the goal of catching a big bass. It took a few hours but he was rewarded! His kicker weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and had an ENORMOUS frame that was capable of weighing even more!
Below you'll find links to the exact baits and gear he was using, along with some budget friendly alternatives. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can find detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Just getting started on big swimbaits this year. Do you really need a rod that has a lure rating that matches the weight of the bait? IE: Daiwa Tatula 1/2oz-1.5oz 7'3 H 6" mag draft 8/0 3/8 beast hook. Overall the bait is over 1.5oz. Just don't want to over do it on the rod and have it break but, I've seen pros fish 2oz swimbaits on MH gear

Have u guys ever used the magdraft with a snap it was actually designed to be used with a snap and the guys in Japan use it on a snap which I found interesting and I thought the few times I have used the bait with a snap on. That I was rigging it the wrong way reason I just wasn't gettin bit but. Now finding out that they actually use it with a snap and that its actually meant to be used that way was just odd. So now I'm actually even more stumped on why the magdrafts just doesn't work for me.

I am a kayak fisherman, until I can afford the boat that I want. That guy had no business cutting in front of you when you were obviously fishing that direction. Even in the wind, he should have gone around the back of the boat. People like that are the reason other boats buzz kayakers while on the lake.

    • @tacticalbassin

You're assuming FFS is how we found these fish. Tim wasn"just fishing" when he caught the big one. It's shallow in those tunnels, he didn't see those fish. 👍🏼
You could also watch Matt's swimbait slugfest from last week... no Live involved in those fish catches either. When you don't have it, it's easy to assume you're left behind. But when you do have it, the reality is sometimes its amazing and other times you don't even look at it.
